Our journey into wild/feral hog hunting started like many others living in rural communities. We didn't start hog hunting for fun or sport... we did it because we had to. You see, hogs cause millions of dollars of damage and destruction each year in rural communities and our situation was no different. Hogs were destroying our land and that our of friends and family. The vast majority of hunting stories that you hear about on this channel are hogs, boars and sows, taken from family land... this problem is personal for us...

Coyotes and Predators, similar to hogs, cause financial stress for many families in rural communities. Coyotes kill livestock, plain and simple. Ranchers have battled coyotes killing cattle since the early days of ranching and it costs them dearly. Cattle ranching is a business, the cows aren't pets, every time they lose a calf to a coyote those families lose a paycheck. Cattle ranchers hate coyotes just as much as Farmers hate hogs! We hunt coyotes to protect the livelihood of our friends and neighbors that depend on their cattle business to feed their family...

For $18,000 it should inform me of every coyote hiding in a 2 mile radius. But greatfull for the advancement. As it becomes more adopted I expect prices will come down. This only moves us forward.

I saw that the Burris thermal was on Alibaba from China months before it came out with different name. Either way I just wonder if you could EMP/electro static test a scope because I think with the electronics, if they became damaged it would be nearly unrepairable. I don’t even know if night vision would be better because it also uses electronics. Even Red dots so I have been looking into Fiber Optic scopes from Trijicon/Meprolight

interesting to see the advancements in thermal, course the expense is out of the question. I'm consistently shooting yotes between 200-300 yards and shooting beyond that increases the odds of educating Mr. coyote. I'll stick to my lower resolution and flat shooting rifle until prices favor a civilian market.

Awesome stuff! Appreciate the review and seeing the video. Just makes me wonder how feasible from a business perspective this is with a very high price point in a market that is saturated with quality scopes-all the while we (consumers/hunters) are getting slammed with inflation and rising costs of goods. Don't get me wrong, this is a huge advancement, but I wonder how many of these scopes they actually sell. Anyway, Cant wait to see some RS75 hunting videos from y'all or banging steel at 1000 yards with this sucker!!!!!

@@SunRunn3r my ATN unit is awful. It shuts down after recoil on a moderated 20 lb 243 win. Batt life is desperate. Some youtubers have good reviews but my unit is awful

@@johnventers5128 i have two 2k atn's and a 640 thermal thor 4.. epic.. no issues, most problems are the user .. it is a computer not a piece of glass..love mine, the thermal is epic.. 80 rabbits in 3 nights..

Great review, but lets see it on a pig hunt when you get another one ? I'm afraid they jumped the gun by making it with only a 30Hz refresh rate. Every other feature of this scope is outstanding, but I'll consider spending that type of money when they make it with a better or variable refresh rate. The technology is there.

ATN seems to have 1280x1024 thermalscopes for as low as $5695, what makes this 3x more? (I'm actually scope-dumb, so its a real question.)

Thermal Scopes are like 4K Big Screen TV's when they came out. Exorbitantly overpriced when they first release then drop in price like crazy with better quality. I've been looking for a thermal scope, but the prices keep coming down, quality's getting better, and more competition coming. I hate to buy one now knowing something else is just just around the corner. I know that the case with everything, but new thermal scope announcements are abundant right now!

The quality and features are definitely improving. Prices are not moving as much as you may think they are. Slightly but not drastically.. not like the flat screen TV example

I’m a huge N-Vision fan, and this doesn’t take away from the greatness of the Halo at all, but it’s not a fair comparison. The Rico has 1.3 million pixels versus 307K with the Halo… it’s just math no matter how you slice it. Thanks for watching Audie 👍🏻

That's probably more a function of your video resolution setting on whatever device you are playing youtube on. You can select 1080 resolution playback on KZfaq and get the full effect.

It’s the truth, sir.. I realize your job is to sell scopes, but it took a long time of watching bullet splash behind my dogs a great distance when shooting dogs on a perpendicular run at no more than 60 or 70 yards.. I lead my shots much more shooting through thermal than I do w/a day scope hence refresh rate matters… A$14k sticker would’ve sold a lot more of these & that’s just being reasonable.. It’s just not double what the Halo is & it’s Chinese.. A 1280 scope needs sub 12 micron no 2 ways about it.. Bless your ticker too…

Let's be honest here. All thermal camera/scope are overpriced. Also, iray is a Chinese company. If this is what they're releasing to the US consumer market. Imagine what they have for their ccp military.
