This is brilliant! The focus on quality titles frees up space for expanded collections for Dreamcast, PS1, PSP etc. I don't personally understand the full N64 dumps when the emulation for N64 isn't great. Not a problem with this image. As always Drew thanks for all of these awesome reviews!!! I have enjoyed Retropie and Recallbox immensely thanks to your comprehensive videos!

Darrell Marcum I honestly don’t have any experience with the Replay. However I keep all of the box art and videos in the roms folder so you should be able to connect you pi to WiFi, access the roms folder, and drag to a destination on your pc. You would just have to figure out how to get them on your Replay.

This really is all killer in my opinion and definitely one of my best 128gb images my only criticism is that when you load a PlayStation 1 game it says no bios file please add for better compatibility and if you don't know how to do that it's a pain as with other large images it's done for you but great video thanks drew and apart from that great image

Can somebody PLEASE help me? I'm not very knowledgeable with retropie and I'm having a problem backing out of "UI Settings" in emulationstation. Every time I simply try to back out of Ui Settings, I get a black screen with some text in the top left hand corner, which doesn't seem to let me do anything else from here, that I know of anyway. Also, it's kinda hard to read the text since it's not formatted properly with my screen, but it mentions something about the password and a security risk. Everything was working fine until I started switching through some of the themes that were already installed. To be more specific, I switched to a theme called "Freeplay." Then I tried switching to retrorama and then the blackscreen with text started happening, making UI Settings unusable. Can anyone please help me fix this issue?

Hello I just downloaded, a 128gb through arcade punk..also through torrent download...it’s now downloaded but it’s a bunch of 0.98gb files I can’t seem to flash it to a sd card, it’s the 128gb legendary Odroid go advance v2 batocera-mikozzZ can you let me know what to do with now? I love the raspberry pi and retro pie, but what I love about is what I don't like about it.....I love that it has all the games you can want, I mean it's retro game heaven, and cheap....but at the same time I find it overwhelming, because there are so many games I get lost, I feel I spend more time choosing a game then actually playing it's quite distracting. I presume you can delete games off of it? Think that will help my problem but I'm not technically minded

I spend time adding games in favorites and try to rediscover more favorites without actually playing the favorites...Then I give up to rather play PSVR and spend more time on PS4 lol...When I feel nostalgic I go back.

Is there a difference between 2.5a and 1.a when power a raspberry pi? The recommended power source for a raspberry pi3 is 5v 2.5a but can the extra amp make the game run better? I watched people play street fighter 3 on their raspberry pi. It ran and sound perfect, but mine is laggy and audio stutter.

Hey Drew, I was wondering if you had any issues installing the retroflag safe shut down script on this image with a PI 3B+. I have the superpi SFC and have set the internal switch to on, on the board, and I installed the script through the terminal, everything seemed to install correctly. However, when I power the unit down with power button, it goes to the terminal as it should but does not run the script, it just shuts down. Any ideas? I tried a few things I've seen in posts, but no luck. One comment was to go into the boot/config file and change "enable_uart=1" to "enable_uart=0" that didn't work. Thanks,

Update: Incase anyone else is having the same problem, I solved my issue. I was using a pre built image. I found that I had to go into the /boot/cmdline.txt file and edit the following: Change "console=tty3" to "console=tty1" And I had to remove "quiet" Now if functions perfectly. Maybe even before it was functioning correctly but It was hiding the script when running.

Anyone else not able to get the Lynx games to run properly? It's like all the key binds are gone, all I can do is get F6 to pause. Can't figure out how to get the menu to come up so I can edit the key binds, other than that everything seems to be working just fine, I'm using the attract mode version currently as well.

Just create a samba share on a spare pc and just use a 16gb sdcard. A cheaper option would be a soft modded xbox and coinops.

@@quantumfx2677 you can use the jamma with gpio on rasp jamma adapteur with a usb mouse or other. You can use jamma and a usb sticks but you should change the config everytime. As far I know.

i bought 128 sd card less than $22.00 and got free shipping from Amazon Prime.256 G is still over 50.00. do have a question how hard would it be to use one of the "faster" SBC instead of Pi? and would it be worth it? some of them have more ram and cpu.

Great looking image. Got the torrent on the DL atm, will be sure to seed. I have'nt updated retro pi since 4.3, as I was finally happy with my image on my pi3b. Will this run fine on the 3b or do you reccomend i get the 3b+? Really been considering it for while no just never pulled the trigger. Didnt want to get sucked back into making another custom image lol.

MoRRoW85 most systems will work fine on the pi 3. If your going to play the PSP or Dreamcast games on this image though, I would be sure to use a b+

It will run fine on both but if you are going to be playing PSP, N64, or Dreamcast games, then I would run it on a B+

Quick question BUDZ71. I was watching reviews on the Odroid XU4 and was think of picking one up instead of 3b +. Will your image play on it much the same as a raspberry pi?

I really can't say. I do know that the Odroid XU4 does have the specs to run better than the 3 b+ but i've never used one. My assumption is that if it was built on a PI (like this was) that it wouldn't work on the Odroid.

double check your download, check your sd card that its not fake, make sure you write your sd correctly

Drew I need your help please. My arcade controls work to get me into the games but once I am in a final burn alpha game everything disconnects and I can't do anything. I go into the menu by pressing f2 on keyboard and it seems everything is mapped correctly but doesn't work. What should I do?

Can anyone tell me how to remove the bezel art? They are overlapping the actual game. Removing the overlay in the RetroArch settings temporarily fixes the problem but the overlays come back on a game or system restart.

This will be my first pi have played with. I have watched many video's that all show formatting and downloading Retro Pi do and SD Card but I can't find anything showing how to set up a Pi with one of these images. Do I still load up Retro Pi first then drag and drop the Image into a folder or do I just insert SD card into my computer and drag and drop Image file and I'm done? Thank for your help

Sherod Oppy Insert the micro sd into your PC and use your program of choice to load the image file onto the card (I’m on a Mac so I use pibaker) then insert into the pi and play away!

Anybody else having problems with the Dreamcast controls, with the emulator not picking up on emulation station controls? Buttons are not recognized upon launch. Other consoles/arcade controls work fine.

Found the answer. Looks like you have to set this up separately from emulationstation. Go into retropie setup and configure the controls for reicast

The image runs fine off of my 3B but when using it in my 3B+ it keeps freezing. Sometimes in the menus and sometimes in the games. I can't make it more than 10 minutes without freezing. Anybody know why?

I love this image but the only problem i have with it is my controller nor my keyboard will work on any of the Dreamcast games. Everything else works flawlessly. Does anyone have a fix for the Dreamcast controller issue?

Yes you need to setup your reicast controls in retropie setup first

Hey Drew what is a good amount of space to leave on your image available you know for save states and saving on the memory card Etc I would hate to have the system crash on me or something thanks this is for my own image that I've been putting together

personally I always leave at least 5GB on a 128. that leaves space for saves, system updates, retropie updates, etc

@@slappymcphee cool. Thats what i was thinking. I recently updated to 128 from a 64.. on my 64gb sd i left 1gb free lol. And hmm SOMETIMES when first booting up i noticed itll get stuck at the raspberries boot up screen. Rarely but sometimes it happens. Any idea?

How about installing on Android TV Box with Rockchip RK3368 CPU? These games should run better probably.
