It is based on the 2019 eponymous non-fiction book by Anurag Pathak about the real-life story of Manoj Kumar Sharma, who overcame extreme poverty to become an Indian Police Service officer.
The film stars Vikrant Massey in the title role, alongside Medha Shankar, Anant V Joshi, Anshumaan Pushkar, and Priyanshu Chatterjee.

I’m from Malaysia, watched this movie yesterday night and was blown away by the hero’s acting and Gauri bhai character is one that really deserves special mention, if every1 has one gauri bhai the world will be a better place. He was selfless and dedicated his life to train others and took pride from their victory. I don’t know Hindi and Sometimes language is not the barrier when the movies emotions speaks for itself. Not to forget the DSP in the beginning had inspired the hero to become a civil servant and serve for the country. Fantastic movie really deserves lots of awards.

For me Dushyant sir is the hero, as it is so rare to find officers like him who made an impact on Manoj’s life and Manoj owed him in the end! It is said “ Jo apke Naseeb mai hai woh milta hai” Manoj was destined to be an IPS it was Dushyant sir who awakened Manoj and of course Gauri bhaiya, Pande and Shraddha were a medium to make Manoj what he is today!

A film addressing illegal immigration is just as significant as one depicting the journey of a UPSC aspirant, if not more. It's disgraceful & disgusting to make such a shameful remark about a beautiful film like Dunki. Let's refrain from comparing two films with entirely different genres and show some decency

12th Fail is such a movie that no one can dislike. It's story is such that falls into the over and over used cliche of a plot,' the quest' out of the 7 fundamental plots that essentially covers every fiction /cinema we see and still the formula hardly fails. The fact that the story is based on a real person's struggle and reward makes it relatable to the audience in a deeply emotional way. The movie shows poverty yet love, obstacles yet hard work, high odds yet reward, sweet sweet romance yet PG, commitment and motivation authentically portrayed by skilled artists on] both side of the camera. So,what's not to like in this killer combo!? 12th fail is no doubt a hundred percent likable movie which is rare to say when it comes to Cinema. A thoroughly enjoyable drama that's touches the right notes of human emotion to cheer for the guy, who's story it narrates to feel good and is highly motivational in it's core. I instantly started watching it again after the first time and still uttered,' Wow!' with same level of intensity if not more. And I can watch it again! This rarely happens! This movie is an awesome anomaly no matter how cliche is the plot. 12th fail is, 'A Highly recommended, a must movie to watch'!

I'm a Faculty of Reasoning in Mukherjee Nagar Delhi. Last year this movie was shot in front of us. We ( The Whole Staff members ) were aware of the fact, but meanwhile there were myths spreaded among the students that it is shooting of KGF Chapter 3 😅 or Salman Khan's new movie in front of Batra ( erstwhile cinema hall cum mall ). I remember the crowd and the blockage of the route forwarding towards GTB metro station and the vibes, the camera moment, the movie moment in Mukherjee nagar itself. It was a unique moment for me too .... I enjoyed it a lot !!! ❤

Second hero of this movie is Shraddha. This movie proves that the public acknowledges good realistic story. Not necessary to have Sharukh or Salman in the movie, agar story aur script acchi hai to film hit hogi woh bhi without advertising.
