Here I made a 12v 70Ah Battery pack from 18650 salvaged from old laptop batteries. I used my previously made 40cell Charging & Capacity Testing Station to know the capacity of the cells for repacking the cells in to proper battery packs.
I was contacted by JLCPCB a few months ago about their interest in sponsoring some of my projects and providing me with pcbs to speed up my projects. So I decided to restart my 18650 battery pack build project that I've always wanted to do for a ago time but got busy.

Looks good but how has the nominal voltage worked out for you since 18650 li-ion cells are only 4.2v at full charge but nominal is only 3.6 volt that's only 10.8 for that 3s battery ? I have had to go 4s to 16.8 volts then the nominal voltage is a manageable14.4 volts , my use is ham radio and my radio can handle that voltage but for an inverter not sure which one can take that high of voltage that's why we go to 24 volt li-ion battery and 24 volt inverters .

When it comes to old cell or reused cell , it's always better to use a nickel wire instead of a nickel strip. As there might be some cells getting bad down-the-line and it will not effect the remaining cell in parallel.

I get mine for free from a local computer repair shop. They used to have to pay to have them recycled. Now they but them in a box and I go pick them up about once a month. Been doing this for about a year now and have gotten around 400 good cells for free. Rejects get taken in to Battery's+ for recycling (at no cost to me).

@MakerMan and the better 18650s can go above 3000mah or 3ah, but be prepared to $$. generally they are around 2000mah. connect 4 cells (3.2vx4) in parallel to achieve one 12v battery. 1000mah=1ah 2000mah=2ah 2200mah=2.2ah....decimals game

Hello everything looks good and great but you know that 18650 and other cells are not soldered but spot welded because the film is made of plastic where the lithium and cobalt is steamed on it, this can cause damage and if the cells have a pressure relief valve automatically by a hiss degas or even burst.
