A lot of people are commenting on the fact that I said “you’re not supposed to live in a shed”. I know that you can turn these into tiny houses. This one did not come from the factory ready to move in. There was absolutely no finish work done and ton of treated wood exposed. (Because it’s a shed) It was built as a shed. I know you can turn these into a tiny house. But after you finish it all out then it’s not a technically a shed at that point,it’s a tiny house.

Hello, I live in the middle of the desert in Arizona and I bought and paid for my cabin. When I paid my cabin off that's what it says on the paperwork. Not a she'd but a cabin I have lived in this cabin since 2019 it installed has wires for my solar panels and it's a mess right now, but Im disabled and so i can't clean right now. But it's paid for and mine... Thank God I without for a few years but I did it all on my own. No excuses of not being able to pay my monthly payments. I love my home and my 2 cats love it too. I moved from a 1 bedroom apt all my furniture fits in here, ive even bought 2 books shelves for my DVD collection and it makes for a great divider from living room to my bedroom. I have all that I need and nothing more. A friend of mine is bringing a refrigerator and my friend and I are going to share the frig, it'll be on my porch run by solar panels. This makes me sad because, well, their making someone homeless.. it's a she'd, someone lives there. It's just wood and stuff, nothing special about it, bit someone lives there. Just let it go and take a less. This is just my feelings about this "shed" It's someone's home

I have one of these sheds that I converted into a tiny home. Mine is only 12 x 20 but every bit of a comfy little home on 9 acres in the mountains. It's really important that people who do this type of work have no stake in it. He has the ability to operate without any judgement because he is just there to get paid, not to recoup personal losses, and has no motivation to treat the people in any manner that would make his job more difficult. Be helpful and patient, but make it clear that you have a job to do and it's nothing personal. it certainly seemed so, with all the travel and fuel, then seeing it in such terrible condition, I also think the cost of repossessing this is more than it is worth, and just plain nasty if it smelled so bad, very surprised the repo guys were't heaving from the smell, then needing to have it cleaned. I wouldn't want to buy this how the hell are they going to get the smell out of this thin cheap wood structure, they should have just considered it a total loss and left it there, the insurance would have covered its loss and a write-off. The crew were really helpful and understanding, but thumbs down to the whoever ordered the repo just so low considering the shed's state, better to leave it rot where it was, sheltering others till it did.

If you do the math that averages out to be $11 a month it has cost me for a place to live so far. Next year it will average out to be $1 a month I have paid for a place to live. I am a jack of all trades and have kept my mobile home up very well throughout my life. If something needed repaired or replaced I did the work right away I never put any of the repairs off. I love living out in the country and not having to listen to rules of what I can't do. 3 bedroom two bath. Just me, my wife, and two dogs live here. And my son’s room is upstairs. It’s been fun, but we’ve outgrown this place. We’re going to build something bigger and more normal soon. With actual bedrooms. 😂

Dash panels, removed fuse panel, screwed up the ignition switch and ripped off half the front bumper valence. THOUSANDS in repair costs. Had to actually sue, as he denied all the damage. Luckily I had time stamped photos of the evening before he towed it. (thanks to a buddy for suggesting that)

What he meant was that it wasn't insulated or finished in any way inside. In the hills of West Virginia, that's a good way to freeze to death come January. Plus, there seems to be no water source nearby- not just no running water inside but nothing at all to access or store clean water. That is considered "unliveable". If you had kids or elderly in that situation, you'd be criminally charged for neglect, at the very least.

Every time I see one of these repos it hurts my heart. This was someone's home (even though it is actually a shed) and because they were poor and unable to pay for it you were put in the sad position of having to haul it away. They undoubtedly knew their payments were overdue, so they weren't available by phone or in person. This repo was even more complicated by others who did not have a contract with the company living in it. Sad, all the way around. You were kind enough to give them time to get their belongings out of the shed. Even a burning stove. After a unit like this is recovered, I would assume the owners will repair all the damages? Your expertise handling that hauling trailer unit was very impressive.

I think everywhere deals with that, sadly. Here in NW Florida, we have it, too. People are too lazy to properly dispose of stuff, so they ditch it in empty lots (if they're "nice enough") or on the side of the road wherever they feel. Your trailer and the way the hydraulics can move the trailer laterally to the side is amazing. Your whole rig is amazing. You handled that entire situation with professionalism and respect - not anything more a person can do. I worked with people in WV, going to their homes for medical services, some of the back areas are very difficult to get to - scary to drive some of the areas b/c of elevation and road conditions. I was working with people who were expecting me and gave permission for me to come but all the people I ever delt with were kind and smart people who just happened to live in areas that were very hard to access at times. As far as 'living in a shed' comment, some of our ancestors would have been thrilled to have a shed like this provided - it's all on expectation. And people in this time and place normally have insulation in their walls, drywall or paneling etc. I knew what you meant and understood - people sometimes just can't/don't do better, - that's reality.

@@bv5jia They still did it without grid power. Diesel generators to power the welders, gas lights, and lots of air tools. They find ways to do it.

Braver than me to reach under there and clear away the pallets and blocks. Great hiding places for snakes and WV has lots of snakes! Hope this job pays well - this could go sideways in so many ways. At least the neighbors were helpful.

@@mythicnoetic think you may be right. Dude mentioned the smell but mentioned it especially in connection to the "stove" when he was moving it out. That creosote smell can get really strong and really nasty after awhile if you don't keep your wood burning stove and chimney clean, especially if you're using certain woods a lot (pine is really bad about creosote buildup). I do think that smell might keep a lot of critters from making that place home. They're even more sensitive to it than people. Plus, the dog was under the house. I imagine he'd let them know if it was snakes close by. Here in Florida we have tons of snakes, several quite venomous, and many dogs will point out the intruder for you. Cottonmouths have been especially bad here the past couple years, just all in people's suburban yards, all stretched out on walkways and such, not even in overgrown areas. We let the black snakes live to try to chase them off.

First comment ive seen where anyone mentioned anything about the people who are now homeless with their belongings just out on the ground, I hate people over this kind of stuff tbh, everyone claims to be a caring or good person, but the fact is 80-90% of people don't have an empathetic bone in their body

Cannot believe these guys basically go alone into this type of scenario. What a tough set of characters they must be to do this seemingly disgusting work on their own or with very little back up. Very, very well done that man, hopefully a safe journey to base and it certainly gives viewers a different view of what some American "homeowners" can be like, and nothing like we see on screen! Great result Sir.

People choose to live like this. I have an uncle who is fairly poor. Lives off the government, him and his wife, since forever. I've seen him and my cousins live in some absolutely wonderful homes over the years. The level of "is that pee I smell?" varied, but they were always cluttered, dirty and had too many animals. My cousins rooms were always dirty. They never learned, or weren't taught, how to clean up after themselves and maintain cleanliness. You could put my uncle and his family in a mansion and it would end up exactly like this.

are u kidding...people do not "CHOOSE" to live like that...when u are down, no money or with an income of 900 dollars or less what do u suppost to do...many have mental or physical disabilities, and when they are down are down...to get over the pain and frustration many take buzz or pills...no medical cover and so forth...hey but the criminals have more help from the gov that regular people. I know cases that people prefer to go to jail because at least they have a roof, food and bed to sleep. U can be next, the way we are going no one is safe to end up like this people. Just because u have a "nice" life now does not mean that tomorrow u will have it...a car accident u are done...bills and bills and bills and then no enough money because u can not work, the car breaks down and on and on. good cousin that u help out your cousins and teach them the good life...too bad u never asked them to move into your nice house right?

@@PK-bh1wwback in those days, people didn't want bathrooms in their homes. My exes granny had an outhouse. Her kids and grandkids wanted to add a bathroom onto her house and she said absolutely not. Her outhouse was cleaner than some bathrooms with running water. She also refused a modern stove and cooked on her wood stove til she died in her late 90's. Best food I ever tasted.

@@PK-bh1ww I was aquainted with this lady in the 1970's, so about 50 yrs ago. I'm no spring chick either. I remember she pumped water into her kitchen sink from a well. That was as modern as she cared to be. She had lived in that area of rural east TX her entire life. Her house and her yard were neat and clean. She was widowed and maintained it herself for the most part. People appreciated and took care of things, their own as well as others.
