when we get repairs done the labor bills are a lot, but when we see you doing the repair we understand the complexity of some repairs, no complaint on the labor cost!

When I was started farming 60 years ago exhaust bolts had brass nuts on them about an inch long never broke a bolt but then tractors rarely gave trouble😂

I also enjoyed beeing out on the field at my time as an John Deere tecnician in Sweden! We had a lot of VGT problems on the earlier 30 series. One of the bolts connecting turbo to exhaustmanifold is a killer to get loose.

That leaky rivet buried in the back of beyond is yet another highlight for Mr J Deere's Q&A department! I'm pretty sure that your safety guys would have palpitations the way you went for a little mountaineering up the tyre while carrying that turbo beast - but as another favourite American KZfaqr would say "What the Heck!" you looked damned good doing it! And again, admirable restraint on the cussing front when all those little gremlins grabbed a hold when you were seating - that thang! I'm South Eastern England and it's been awful dry this season - harvest getting earlier every year and can report that a local guy had a Claas combine in the field yesterday on barley - hopefully he'll have some grain to show for the effort.

High temp JB weld or high temp loctite.... used some high temp loctite on an exhaust bolt that stripped out on a Polaris atv, didn't feel like pulling the engine out. Drenched it with stuff and let it cure. Still seems to be doing the trick for now until it doesn't.

I appreciate your videos and recognize the work that goes into what you do. One thing I've noticed is this equipment appears too new/clean for the repairs that are needed. Is there an MTBF number that JD publishes? I would think a lot of this work is covered under warranty, but definitely gives me pause for considering a green machine for light/rancher use.

Hi zeth. There's a DTAC on those leaking rivets drill out the rivet and tap the hole and plug it. I'm on holiday can't remember the case number look up 6150r oil leak in search.

Wonder if that turbo is a heavy as the water pump on my 1994 310D backhoe. I was a beast to change out. And expensive.

That looks like a very similar setup to the 9.0L John Deere turbo. I hate that coolant supply on the bottom of the turbo. The back bolt never want to come out or go back in nicely. Also the mounting bolts that never want to come out

Love how a $2.00 failed part causes a $1000 repair bill. Similar to a $0.50 light bulb contributing to the crash of multimillion $ jet.

That tractor has a lot of issues to not be very old. Does it have a lot of hours?

2500 hours and both turbos replaced… kinda sad.

Does the 8R410 drive and ride good on the road. Is it a new one or used.

After all of these years, I am curious why some companies still use both Standard and Metric sized fasteners. It means that the techs have to buy almost twice as many tools and it's a constant guessing games as to whether it's a 5/16 or 8 mm, 13mm or 1/2 inch, 5/8 or 16mm, 11mm or 7/16 and on and on. I sure wish John Deere and GM would just use metric all through out their machines, but I was just a tech, I guess the people that have a higher pay grade than me have a reason, but I have yet to hear that reason.
