Yeah, but the man was smart to stop her! She was also 16, not uncommon for a young lady to have affections for an older man. Many times, it is just a crush. How the man handles it is where the adult steps in! This happens in real life more than one may know and for years. However, in real life, gross men don't stop it, a real man does!

When I was 13 I had a crush on one of my teachers. I was in private school at the time. The crush lasted until I was this characters age, at which point I realized it was an inappropriate fantasy because I learned he returned the crush and it scared me. Around the same time I transferred to public school and met many many other girls who gushed about how “hot” this and that teacher was and as an older teen it always grossed me out. I think it’s an unfortunate thing a lot of girls experience because our hormones are raging, we’re often much more emotionally mature than boys, and the boys act like they’re still 7. We see the adults and can’t wait until we grow up because they seem so mature. Little did we know that even in adult hood it’s hard to find a real adult man who isn’t a man child. Growing up is always gross and uncomfortable and many girls experiencing this or not always feel shamed and pressured by society and that lack of respect for our sex which follows us into adulthood needs to be stopped. Unfortunately certain things are a “normality” that even women impose on other women. This could stop from the start if only we could stop adults from grooming children. If you have children in your family, be a kind ear to them, nurture and protect them and bring a healthy perspective to their feelings by talking them through it because no one else will or even know how to. Remember you were once a child yourself and don’t make them feel shame because that will only shut them up inside themselves and make for emotionally lonely and very unhealthy adults.

I had a crush on a teacher at that age. I knew he was flattered and probably had feelings too, but he stopped it as a responsible man should. I'm sure men deal with that sort of thing all the time.

Gross for today's way of doing but 16 was the age for marriage,male and female around the world things have only now change.The reason a 16 year old are not able to make a living but in the past 16 year Olds already knew a trade with which to make a living and marriage.

That and it's European roads and she's American and don't buses like that require a special license to drive? If I were a rich diplomat, I would sue that school into the ground for letting a child drive the bus

And I know it's a movie, but- Letting a student drive the bus and them going anywhere without a chaperone is a huge, ridiculously false scenario...

You can legally drive in America at 16, which is the age she was. Bus laws only came later, up until the 70s our traffic laws were very loose, as in most countries. No seat belts for example…

The ignorance and arrogance to believe the law you think you know today was also the law of yesterday 😁

In the 50’s and 60’s it was legal to drive at 14 and some states 12 years old. I know my mom n dad were driving trucks and cars and large equipment for parents companies very young. I know it’s crazy to think of now but it was normal then. And they didn’t have automatic transmission then either so they could drive everything. 😅
