Presenting a variety of handmade tools to create interesting and unique marks. These tools and their marks can be used to develop layers of interesting gestures and colours, limited only by your imagination.
The things needed to make the tools are explained in the video and are dependent on what you have to hand and your own creativity.
If you have any questions please put them in the comments section below. I hope you get something from the video, all the best,
Louise

When stamping if you put something slightly squishy under your substrate like a silicone mat or fun foam you may find you get the marks you are looking for but needing to use less paint. Great ideas.

I genuinely enjoy how you push limits with potential tools and techniques, and further how you share your experience of putting them through their paces! I loved all of the results, of course some more than others based on my preferences. I can see how well this sort of experimentation aligns with an attitude of curiosity, asking “what if?”, as we challenge ourselves as artists. As always, thank you for sharing!

I do similar things to this, I collected some wine corks then sliced them up and stuck them to card they make good irregular marks within the circles, I think as artists we have to use what we have! Also if you use something softer beneath your paper when trying out your tools like a foam pad or gel plate it will help with the impressions of the tools :)

Very inspiring! I have loads of bits and pieces that I've saved over my whole life and the lives of my family. I'm working on what I'm calling my "Family Archive Project"...I want to experience and share some of the energy of those who have come before me by combining photographs, letters, newspaper clippings, fabric and other wearables via collaging and printing techniques...using both natural media and digital printing. I love the essence of the prints you made in the video! You bring out such energy in something as simple as a card wrapped with twine!

Hi Louise, Just found your channel and it looks so interesting. Can't wait to watch more of your techniques. Love the brush, and wondering what the string is from. Also, can you explain again about sealing the stamps. Thanks so much for sharing your techniques!
@LouiseJannetta
@LouiseJannetta Жыл бұрын
Sorry, it has taken a while to reply. The blue string or rope was just nylon rope; the finer stuff was nylon fishing twine but probably for sea fishing as it was thick and robust. My partner fished, and he was chucking it. I seal the stamps with diluted PVA, which is non-soluble once dry. It is reasonably safe to use PVA glues that are used in woodwork, but best to read the properties or usage of the product.😀Hope this all helps X

Are you using liquid acrylic paint?
@LouiseJannetta
@LouiseJannetta 6 ай бұрын
Hi Karen, no, I use watered-down acrylics, which I sometimes add acrylic medium to bind the pigment. However, if diluted acrylic is used on an absorbent surface, like paper, the pigment is absorbed, and the binding medium isn't necessary X. Many thanks for watching X😀
