i remember when having a blackberry was considered cool

I had a G5 for years and it's a surprisingly good phone. Not only one of the last decently-specced phones with both a headphone jack and a removable battery, but the fact the battery is so easy to remove and can even be charged outside of the phone is outstanding. The screen is great for the time and had LG built upon it and created an ecosystem of multiple phones with interchangeable (and useful) modules, perhaps the gimmick might've worked. My only gripes would be the large resolution with such a small battery and the weird form factor of the phone itself, which made finding cases and other accessories for it a nightmare, especially after a few years. But I do miss smaller flagships with removable batteries.

I can see the P18k being useful for people who go on arctic expeditions or something like that. It could’ve been sold very well if they made it for that purpose or something similar with other optimisations for that sort of thing but as a normal smartphone it’s only going to fail realistically.

Watching this feb 2022 it feels tame. I loved this video when it came out. Now it feels like someone took a mrwhosetheboss video and turned the energy down a little. What this says to me is you took something I loved.. and kept improving until its a level of awesome I couldn't have come up with myself. This channel is so. freaking. good. Really makes me wonder what else Iove now but is going to reach new places... Thanks for the vids!

Back in the days before Apple, if you had a Blackberry phone, you were considered rich.

The Bixby button is great, but only because Samsung never locked out bxActions, which turns it from an annoying shortcut to a voice assistant I'll never use to a programmable button that I can use to toggle the flashlight, play/pause my music, and bring up the Google assistant.

Had the htc one for about 2,5 years when it came out , was such a good phone

Imagine going to a party and someone asks to put music on and you pull out an Energizer power block

I was very excited about the Essential phone and very close to getting one. It's honestly too bad that the execution didn't match the motivation because with the proper momentum, their ideas could have really gone somewhere

I got the g5 for really cheap a year after it came out and I honestly really liked it, having the option yo carry a separate battery was pretty convenient tbh

The Bixby button is the best feature of my phone. I use it to control the flashlight and to shuffle songs. 🙂

I remember one of my friends dropped her htc one when on a ladder using it as a flashlight. The bookshelf next to the ladder broke and the phone was fine. That phone was wonderful and it’s disappointing that they didn’t continue to improve.

13:53 watching this on a Red Hydrogen One phone which I am stuck with Now here's some story: I got this phone because I thought it was cool. And it was, for a month. Then I realized my mistake and tried to sell it, problem with that was that nobody even knew what phone this was so they weren't interested, and the ones who did know it knew how bad it is. So yea I'm stuck with it now

I used an LG G5 for about 4 years and I loved it. Eventually it just became outdated, but the removable battery is something I'll always miss. After 2 years of owning it, the battery died, but instead of having to buy a new phone, I just got a £20 battery off Amazon than still works to this day (I still use the phone as a spare sometimes).

I had the essential ph1 and I absolutely loved it, if the battery weren't so tired I'd still be using it.

Blackberries were for professionals. They were known to have the best security and encryptions out of any phone. And the full keyboards were really nice. I'm sad they went out of business
