Interview the people who sit on the wall next to the team manager during races… or talk to the strategists, their job must be mentally draining focusing on strategy and what their competitors are doing plus pit stop calls for undercuts etc….

He is humble incarnate, to the point where he didn’t even mention his full role at RB. He isn’t just a part of the pits crew, hes one of the only non Honda staff allowed to assemble and disassemble the power Unit on both cars before and after every race. He is one of the primary engineers in terms of the on track garage, and the fact that he only chose to talk about the pit stops highlights how he isn’t full of himself and doesn’t hold his position in arrogance.

Not difficult to be maybe one of the most recognized pit crew members when your team is world champion and your hair is awesome like that. Where do you think the cameras will be pointed at? Humble guy: You know this how? After having met him? Spoken to people close to him? Based on one vid where you assume he's not acting given the PR value? Maybe you're right. Maybe you're not. We just don't know. Your effort to drop a sensible comment is much appreciated, it almost makes sense. Like Checo still being @ RB or the hair of Kim Jong-un.

@@Lxium Well I live in South Africa and Calum is black (mostly) with dreads. In South Africa we just don't have any black folks with dreads speaking with a noticeable English accent. I can't tell you exactly what I expected but it sure wasn't what I saw and heard, I guess I expected him to sound like some version or combination of the many many different black folks I have interacted with from all over the world. I really should know better because there are cases where this happened before to me, most noticeably Idris Elba. Who would make a fantastic James Bond btw but that's OT 😀

I think the last question at the end made me the saddest (not the fact that Calum has never watched cars LOL) but the fact that his daughter most likely rarely sees him very much during the year. It's also one of the reasons why the F1 calendar shouldn't grow larger than 21 races a season. These people have lives outside of work and even most of that gets consumed by all the travelling back and forth they do from races to races or to the UK.
