I’ve really only ever known logic. I haven’t got time to learn an entire daw again when logic does everything I need / want. Think of it like moving house. There may be better houses, but it’s nice where I live and I know where the toaster is. Wouldn’t be able to find it if I moved home again.

As an user of both daws i can say that all of this is true, but I want to say that you can create your own custom commands for Ableton too, but only on macOs. Logic kills all my creativity but I use Loopback to route Ableton into Logic and then use Logic as Master Channel 🤓

@LarcosMusic
@LarcosMusic Жыл бұрын
@@truedatdatdatdat I've used both and I personally feel like Ableton allows me to create at a much faster pace rather than Logic. For me this is purely because of the user interface... In Ableton I can click my way into certain things such as my mixing chains, plugins, piano roll, personal sounds, favourite collections. These all just feel like a bit more of a hassle & less overview in Logic for my personal taste. I do have to admit that Logic, somehow (I'm not an audiophile per se), provides a bit more of a warm sound to your final mix. Might be the post processing that Logic itself contains... Not sure? My final verdict: Both work pleasantly, it's just a choice you make purely based on personal preference. Work with what you feel at ease with, not what the mainstream tells you to.

idk for how long u havent used ableton but some of the features mentioned here are also implemented in ableton by now. for example the stereo pan is very much possible. also the quick automation / mapping to a knob. track lanes too. no track alternatives tho sadly. the plugin organizing is better now but still nothing compared to logic (or cubase). midi editing is missing a lot too sadly. i thought about switching to logic or using both, but the main reason why i ended up not doing it is the colour of the waveforms haha. i cant stand white waveforms it looks way to busy for my eyes. i didnt find a way to change them to black.

Originally I used Reaper, since I was only using a DAW for guitar practice to load some kind of basic drum sound (I believe I was using Sennheiser Drumica at the time) and some kind of amp sim, basically just enough that I had something to play along to. When I started making electronic music, I decided to spring for something a little more tailored to that, and since in all the tutorials I watched they were using Ableton, I went with Ableton. Retrospectively, Ableton feels like a childs toy, like Babys first DAW. I had similar stability issues with Ableton 11, and started shopping around. The decision came down to two choices. Bitwig, Abletons younger, sleeker, more attractive sister. Or Cubase, the closest I could get to Logic on Windows. I decided to go with Cubase since I do things outside of just Hard Dance, and recording guitars/instruments/vocals into Cubase was just a better experience, and seemed like a good middle ground between a DAW that is laser focused on the recording and mixing side of things like Pro Tools, and the Ableton/FL type DAWs which are laser focused on electronic music production. It's been a steep learning curve, but I've gotten better with Cubase as time goes on, learning different shortcuts and functions, I feel like I've barely scratched the surface on whats possible over the last 3 months, but I don't see myself stepping away anytime soon. Occasionally I might miss having FX Racks in Ableton, and maybe I felt a little FOMO seeing some of the cool kids making that generative ambient stuff in Bitwig, but I have a 3rd party VST that allows me to do either of those things in Cubase if I ever decide I really need some of those features (Though that's pretty rare)

Logic looks even better and the zomm shit its very comfortable. yeah I'm also still making Kicks in Ableton...for me the advantages in terms of workflow are bigger in Ableton. There is no difference between the sound engine of Logic or Ableton. I mainly use Ableton, but I also use Logic and dabble in other daws. I know the sound engines are the same, but the songs I render down in Logic all sound sonically better. Probably a plug-in thing. There’s a company called mix ready who does pre made templates for Drum libraries like GGD and toontrack. I opened up one of their templates in each daw using only the stock plugins they mixed them with in the template and out of all of them Logics stock plugins sounded significantly better on the mix than Ableton’s, S1, Fl Studio.

It’s easy to forget Ableton “Live” pioneered the live looping concept and vertical track orientation, whereas Logic always maintained a traditional horizontal tracks orientation from the days of tape machines. Logic would compete with the studio leader Pro Tools. The audience for Ableton is musicians and creators, whereas the Pro Tools audience is studio engineers. Because Logic is object oriented with an extensive midi implementation, it’s audience is both! I use both Ableton and Logic, but it’s clear Logic is more powerful with broader capabilities, but people are passionate about the intuitive ease-of-use in Ableton, and similar DAWs like FL Studio. There’s no “one better than the other” debate, really. Just use whichever DAW suits your style - the one where you’re most productive 😁

I’ve been using Logic for 3 years. And tbh don’t even bother with Logic. Studio One, Ableton and most other DAWs offer so much better workflow, capabilities and integration with important plugins like Melodyne. Apple doesn’t listen to the suggestions and complains, they just want to sell more iPhones.

What are you talking about? Logic is ARA the same as studio one. Melodyne has the same ARA integration.

Everything was so informative except for the annoying hardstyle music in the beginning..

Thanks for the comparison but your scream talking style is so stressful. I prefer the way you talked towards the end. No need to scream the whole time like it’s a freakin emergency.

The problem with Logic Pro is that it was made to work on Apple OS only which means you have to use Apple crappy gutless computers, worst to use for music production, over priced, slow, not enough ports, and pops and glitches if you try over 50 tracks - end of story - cheers!!!
