The animal that Corphish and Crawdaunt are based on ( Red Swamp Crayfish) naturally lives in the Southern United States and Northern Mexico. So, if we ever get a region based on either of those areas than that would be the perfect opportunity to give us the original forms of Corphish and Crawdaunt.

About Corphish: Being originated from another regions doesn't always mean there's a regional variant in place from the get-go. They're definitely invasive species, like Yungoos, but there's no way to indicate if Corphish itself has a different form based on their native region. We've had this happen before, where a certain Pokemon is obtained through rare means in a given region and then we discover they're endemic to another one and can be found in the wild, like Lapras, Kangaskhan, Tauros, etc. This is most likely the case for the base Corphish. Crawdaunt could be the regional variant judging from this. Kind of like an Alolan Marowak situation, where Cubone doesn't change but the evolution suits the new region. Of course, we've got yet to see what it comes out of it if anything.

Legends Arceus doesn't take place in ancient times. Between the cultural aesthetic, the active immigration from other regions, and the technology level (disregarding the Arc Phone), it was most likely the equivalent of the late 1800's, the Meiji Restoration era. Hisuian Sliggoo and Goodra probably existed at the same time as their Kalosian brethren, they simply died out before modern times.

I think Poipole's dex entry is referring to the Ultra Recon Squad choosing it as a partner. It's mentioned throughout the game that Pokémon battling isn't a thing in their world, which is why they needed outside help subduing Necrozma.

They also said that Pokémon is the starter Pokémon for their dimension. But I wonder if there’s other starters as well.
@jsc1jake512
@jsc1jake512 Жыл бұрын
There's a replacement we can use for Poipole however. It's Necrozma. So Necrozma has like 3 other forms but none of those are actually Necrozma's TRUE form. It could be argued that Ultra Necrozma is, in fact, it's true form but in the dex it says that form is "a new form that even Necrozma had never taken until now." So that kind of leaves a gray area of what Necrozma looked like before it's light leaked out so I mean it's not really a secret pokemon just a secret form that I hope we'll see in a future game sometime.

Yet poipole states in it evolved form are exactly as the starters based stats, not to mention its the weakest amongst the other ultra beast so it is possible there are others that are like the starters in there world.

The term Partner is often used in several pieces of Pokemon media (particularly the Japanese anime) to refer to someone's starter Pokemon or their ace (eg. Ash/Satoshi often referring to Pikachu as his partner and not giving the same title to his others). Even if Pokemon battling wasn't much of a thing in their universe, the dex entry still suggests it's the starter Pokemon for what tasks are often expected of Pokemon there.

The interesting thing about Magnezone is in Legends Arceus, it's the only one of its line that spawns outside the distortions. This can lead one to believe that Magnemite and Magneton are a side effect of the existence of Magnezone and environmental changes. I love the theory that all of the fossil Pokemon are only near approximations of their original forms. The reason they all have rock type is because they are still partially still fossils. I would love to see true forms of them via some sort of time travel mechanic. As Scarlet and Violet seem to be trying to do both past and future, I doubt they will dive too deeply into ancient Pokemon as it would favor Scarlet over Violet. Now, if they do another Legends style game, we could see a time rift with new forms of the fossils.

For the Arbok forms, they could implement it by the pokemon's nature. There are (currently) 24 different natures that a pokemon can have, and the pokedex entry says that there are 'over twenty' different variations, so it could line up nicely with the pokemon's nature. It could also encourage breeding to find all the different types

I don't think it's official canon, but there's a cool theory about Graveller/Golem swapping DNA with Machoke/Machamp when they trade. Hence Machamp having Graveller's extra arms and Golem gaining Machoke's lizard head. So I wonder what a un-spliced third evolution for these lines would look like?
@bulletpunch9317

I heard this before too, but its not like you have to trade a graveler for a machoke to evolve both. The gen 1 creators probably thought something like the dna swapping stuff would be cool but ultimately decided to scrap it, since you can see some resmblance to this in escavalier/accelgor.
@SonnyFRST
@SonnyFRST 7 ай бұрын
I remember hearing theories that the red lines on Machoke's arms are its muscles expanding to accomodate for their increased physical power, which likely fits into this theory as well: Machoke gets dna from Graveler to solve the excess power issue by growing extra arms, however I fail to see how exactly getting Machoke dna affects Golem. In addition for Dreepy (since I know this video was released before SV came out), its Violet dex entry states "It has a habit of biting at Clauncher even though it doesn't feed on them. This is said to be vestigial behavior from when Dreepy was alive." Meaning that it was a predator that preyed upon Clauncher (and likely its evolutions hunted Clawitzer). Interesting. I read the Parasect entry in that they were simply stating that the mushroom less versions are unmoving because the mushroom was removed and so they are essentially brain dead. I think the PLA entry for Parasect is referring to Parasect corpses, with the soft mushroom having been eaten by other pokemon or withered/rotten away and leaving only an (empty) exoskeleton (hence unmoving. They could even still be twitching or otherwise moving depending on how their nerve system works). Mushroom-less Paras might be a thing, if there was a way to prevent the mushroom spores from infecting the paras egg/embryo/baby. And I see Poipole more like an early-game bird/rodent/bug or Eevee than part of a starter set. Compared to the rest of the known ultra beasts, Poipole is a cute, easy to handle and relatively safe option to start with.

Interestingly enough you can see Paras remove their Mushrooms in the first Anime Season, alongside several other flopped over Paras with their Shrooms already removed. This suggests that despite the Pokédex often depicting the relation between the Tochucaso and Paras/Parasect as parasitic, it actually appears that the Pokémon fully depends on the Mushroom to survive and reproduce, making the relationship more of a symbiotic kind.

You missed the point of the Magnezone and Parasect entries. The Magnezone entry is just their way of reinforcing the "3 stage is max stage" rule. The Parasect entry is just stating that the mushroom has moved on and left behind a husk/corpse of the adult paras. Either due to being eaten by something else, or the host dying outright. The Paras entry doesn't state "IF" just when. So the real story behind the Paras line is that they're entire species are just doomed to forever sprout mind control mushrooms and die.

If the alternate universe also has 3 starter Pokémon, with Poipole being one of them, and if they also form a rock-paper-scissors relationship, then we can assume the group consists of a Ground type, a Grass type and Poipole. If they are also equal in power level and evolve just once, then we can deduce there is an evolution for these implied Pokémon that may or may not add a secondary type. Considering Naganadel's secondary Dragon type also having an advantage over Grass type, then the Grass type's secondary type (if any), might be Water or Ice for the offensive advantage over Ground starter; Bug or Flying for the resistances. Though I think Ice is unlikely because it would give Grass starter an advantage over both other starters and, while that isn't unheard of (Sinnoh starters, for example), I think it's not a good idea. The Ground type starter's second type (if any) would be Psychic (offensive advantage); Rock, Steel or Ghost (resistances). We know Naganadel is part Dragon type, so we can also use that to deduce any other type that may be added when taking Naganadel into account. That would add Ice as a possibility. The hypothetical starter trio would be: 1- Naganadel 2- One of the following: Grass Grass/Water Grass/Ice Grass/Bug Grass/Flying 3- One of these: Ground Ground/Rock Ground/Steel Ground/Ghost Ground/Ice

you talked about corpish being the first regional form as it is imported from another region, but I'd like to add two things: the first is that it may not have changed form after being imported, and the second is that this has likely happened before. in gen 1, there are pokémon that can only be found in the safari zone and nowhere else. this indicates that those pokemon are not originally from kanto, and were brought over and kept in a nature preserve, to not disrupt kanto's ecology -- like they do in real life zoos. so those may very well be the first regional forms, or at least the first pokémon that were introduced in a region that's not their original region, just like corpish. pinsir is a pokémon that gives credit to this theory, since it's based on a real life bug that lives in deserts and there are no deserts in kanto. scyther, in its turn, exists in hisui and has a different evolution, so we can assume that's its original region.

For what the Legends Arceus entry implies, more than a "Mushroom-less Paras evolving into a Mushroom-less Parasect", it's that the Mushroom-less Parasects are dead, just corpses. The poipole entry was what I expected this video to be not a video about possible other forms or non-existent evolutions

Since Magikarp is based off a koi that became a dragon I think the stronger version of Magikarp and it's evolution should be dragon type to be a bigger nod to the inspiration to the pair, and maybe have this unseen Magikarp and it's evolution have different colorations if it's found in different areas as a nod to koi fish having so many colorations themselves.

Magikarp does have plenty of colorations thanks to Magikarp Jump. Just transfer them over to a new game.

If there’s anything I want to see, it’s the original Galar fossil Pokemon. We were SO close to having 4 new dinosaurs, but they just had to mix them 🥲

Genesect does look a lot like Kabutops but purple and armored. Plus Kabutops is a fossil Pokémon so the 300,000,000 year old thing makes sense

Genesect is missing Kabutops's scythes and has an absomen rather than a tail. Those would've been pointless modifications from Plasma's perspective. Also, Genesect is bug type while Kabutops is not. It's definitely something else; some sort of ancient bug-type apex predator.

I don't wanna hunt to see if someone has mentioned this already, but I've always postulated that Paras is a parasitic-mushroom-infected Nincada since both are derived from real-world cicada nymphs. I imagine the "unmoving Parasect" is just the chitinous remains after the mushroom has decomposed.

I've never really been a fan of the theory that Genesect is an altered Kabutops, because a lot of people seem to gloss over that one is a horseshoe crab, and the other is a Hymenoptera of unknown species.

I mean… all of the signs we have point to Kabutops. People like to cite typing as being against this, but odds are that Kabutops wasn’t always a Rock-type, instead originally being Bug/Water.
