The other day i was crying and my little kitten, she is literally like 9 weeks old, cuddled up on my shoulder/neck and purred until i stopped crying. She’s just such a sweet baby.

Haven't watched this video yet but just saying this...I was diagnosed with breast cancer 2 years ago in my right breast. Five months Before my diagnosis, my cat Chester started alerting me by staying on my right side while I laid in bed and bumping his head under my right arm constantly. He has always laid on my left side, at my hip, and so this made me wonder what he was doing. He was very constant and verbal (MMMMMEEEOOOOWWWW) about my right armpit. Head nudging my arm pit, digging his paws into my right side and getting in my face meowing Very loud at me. I had a large cancerous lump under my right arm pit and above my right breast. Chester knew. Chester told me and helped save my life. My Right Breast is now gone but my mighty Chester is still here with me and watches over me day and night. He is my Boochie. My made up name for a beautiful cat that loves me and I that I love. Boochie. (Boo-Chi).

This is why cats should be accepted universally as service animals, the same as dogs.

I picked out my cat because he picked me. I stop breathing sometimes so sleep with oxygen and need to be woke up. My cat wakes me often at night and I find my oxygen had come off or I got up and forgot to put it back on. I have my own personal angel right Here with me . He is Casey and rarely leaves my side. Very rarely ❤

My cat is the reason I stopped self-harm. She is my emotional support animal. Once, I was crying like crazy into my pillow from an overwhelmed state outburst, and my cat came right up to me and in my ear made the prrrrrr of her life. It was a sound I had never heard from a cat, and it was long as well as quick but loud, powerful, and full of passion. I was so shaken but also amazed how she knew I was upset but knew exactly how to get my attention. I immediately cleaned myself up and started petting her as I didn't want her to be worried about me.❤😻😿😹

My sister just had to put her 15 year old cat down the other day. My sister couldn’t do it and would tear up at the thought. That cat wouldn’t show her illness to my sister but would to her roommate, who was her second “mom”. The kitty knew that my sister was so broken at the thought of losing her and always put on a brave face for her. They are amazing creatures.

My fat girl will wake me up in the middle of the night if my blood sugar begins to go low. She will meow and bite my nose til im awake

I have a 6 year old Scottish Fold. He is very introverted, but immediately felt my pain when my mom passed away 3 years ago. He suffered with me, he cuddled and put his paw on my face when I cried. Cats are amazing creatures. He is my best friend, my companion. I couldn't have gone through the grief without his help.

Born with defective aortic valve. Late husband & I adopted Edward in 2006 after our last cat passed at 18. In 2008 I was very fatigued. Came home from work after working 12 hours, showered, ate & went to bed at 8:30. Edward came in bedroom. He tunneled under bedspread, turned around and came up to my chest, put his head & paw on my chest. He knew it was my heart. Saw cardiologist few weeks later, told it was time to change valve. Edward knew & was telling me it was my heart. When my husband died in 2917 I was crying. Picked up Edward & told him why Dad was not coming home any more, he licked away my tears on both cheeks. Edward died 2 years ago, 18 1/2. Miss him. Have 3 strays. They are great.

My cat Princess who sadly passed away from lymphoma this past January always knew when I had a migraine. For 15 years of her life whenever I had a migraine she would lay her body on the side of my head that was killing. Most of the time I would have to vomit, but she never left my bed. She would wait for my return, put her body against my head and purr and purr until I was able to fall asleep. It was amazing to me. I miss her SO much. ❤️🐾❤️🐾

Cats love you unconditionally. They are very spiritual and can feel your vibrations like when you are sick. They are more aware of your feelings than a lot of people. They are very smart. There is so much people don't know about cats. If they did maybe they wouldn't be so judgemental.

My cats knew I was pregnant before I did. They would lay on my stomach and purr. I had no idea why until I took a pregnancy test. It was so sweet. They love their human siblings.

My cat Howie, adopted me when he was nine and at the shelter. He had been rescued from an extremely abusive household, where he was beaten so badly he suffered damage to his left eye. When I brought him home, he was afraid of everyone and everything. Now, five years later he is a happy, well adjusted kitty. He should be a service animal as well, because he knows when I am going into an adrenal crisis. Specifically, my early symptoms. Now I know when he has eye contact with me, and will not let me look away, even if it means standing on my keyboard, take my meds right away. So far, his diagnosis have been accurate. His alert is obvious to me, and he even does this one rotation circle when I ask if I need to take my meds as confirmation. After my meds, I have severe body shivers, he stays with me laying on my body, purring loudly. He's amazing! I'm so very thankful to have him in my life. He's saved me so many times, because when it hits me it is quick. I loose the ability to speak and move, do to my blood pressure and pulse dropping so quickly and so severely.. I wish I could get him certified!!

I am prediabetic and one of my cats is half siamese and before I even notice my blood sugar dropping she is already telling me. She has an extremely loud caterwaul to let me know that something needs to be done fast. I came in from running errands 1 day and my blood sugar had already dropped and because of that I felt very weak when I tried to walk. She was immediately screeching at the top of her lungs and as soon as I sat down she jumped onto my lap and wouldn't let me get up. When she finally decided to let me out she ran ahead of me into my bedroom screeching nonstop and looking over her shoulder at me and making sure I was following her. She jumped up into the middle of my bed continuing to scream and as soon as I sat down she shot through the air like a bullet and hit me in the chest and knocked me over. My right arm went out and she ran up laid down in the palm of my hand and wrapped all 4 legs around my arm and wouldn't let me move. I thought perhaps I would like to roll over on my left side and when I tried that she showed me just how easy it would be to use my arm as a pin cusion if she wanted to. Needless to say I was not going to be allowed to even roll over in bed and I fell asleep a short time later. When my alarm went off I noticed that she wasn't with me so I sat up on the bed and she immediately came running from the kitchen with a frantic look on her face and that same screech coming out of her. I lay down because I didn't want to be knocked down again by her and she got up onto the bed and literally sniffed me from the top of my head to my feet before I was even allowed to sit up. When I did she plastered herself beside me and looked into my face with this look that said I'm here for you mom don't worry. When I stood up she plastered herself against my legs and she stayed with me for the rest of the day. Now when my blood sugar starts to drop she lets me know so I know early enough so I can do something about it before it gets obvious. I was waiting for my lunch to warm up 1 day and she was alerting me on the problem I was going to have. As soon as I sat down to eat she jumped up on the table and sat there and watched me eat my food. I did try to put her on the floor a couple of times but with siamese that doesn't always work the way you want it to. She watched me eat half of my food before she jumped off the table and went to her own food bowl and started eating. As soon as she would get a mouthful of food she would look over her shoulder and watch me eat while she's chewing her food. Love that little cat.

Cats have super hearing, sense of smell, vision, reflex. And most importantly they are super cute.😻😻😻

I’ll never forget the time I went to dinner at my aunt’s house, and her cat came in. I spent a little time petting it while I was there. When I got home, and settled in, my cat proceeded to wash my entire hand thoroughly with her scratchy tongue. She was not about to have that other cat’s scent on me! 🤣

I have the best cat possible. I have had her for 14 years now. I would never sell her for all the money in the world, for money cannot replace the love from my cat. I thank God for her🌹.

My cats come around asking for food between 4:30-5 every day. One started yelling hello at 5 a.m. When I told him it was too early and he had to wait another hour, he did so. When one asks for something too early, I might say come back in 15 minutes, and they will. They are very good with time.

Cat's are magnificent

My border collie was crate trained. I always put his water in one corner of the crate and the food in another. If he needed one or the other, he would go to that side of the crate. My cat watched him do this frequently. So one the the cat walked to the side of the crate that usually had the dog's food. It took me a few times of the cat walking back to that side for me to realize that there may be something I'm missing. I asked her if she wanted food and she walked into the bathroom to show me that her bowl was empty! She continued to do that, changing sides depending on what she wanted for as long as she lived.

My Cat makes me feel Sooo loved! He runs to the door, when I get home & is quiet, until I wake up on my own. He is Sooo patient! His name is Ami...as in Mon Ami...French for friend 🐾🐈‍⬛ He's a Tabby! He makes my home a home😇

I remember the time where I had a nasty stomach ache and my kitten got in my bed and laid besides me. He gently patted my forehead with his paw and I fell asleep. Just the other day I wasn't feeling well, so when I got home, changed into casual clothes and got under the blankets, my kitten joined me. he sat around my right side(maybe the right shoulder)and we fell asleep together. Love the little guy. Even tho he can be a menace to society but he can have his sweet moments.

My liftle void is my nurse. When I had a literal screaming fit (she was still kind of a kitten), she was obviously scared but didnt leave my side until my sister showed up. When I got Covd, she wouldn't leave my side. And when Im having my period, she'll come make some biscuits on my stomach. People wonder why I spoil her, but she's really great company.

Oh and I always spend time talking to my kitties every day

They are so intune to the human touch. So lovable .

My first Siamese was my guardian when I was bedridden with the flu. Every time I woke up he was there in bed with me and several friends came by to fix soup or tea and said that the food they had left was untouched. He went to eat when they were there and whatever they replenished remained uneaten. He did use the litter because he could see my bed from the bathroom. He was amazing his entire lifetime, my Mao.

Imagine living in that nursing home and you see Oscar approaching your room, I'd start freaking out

I’ve had the flu recently which turned into a chest infection and is now a possibly eight week long inflammatory cough. Bailey Boo has been sleeping draped over my chest and purring each night, helping to keep me calm and sleepy; this means he thereby minimises my coughing fits as much as he can. Love my boy. My big, fluffy, purring nurse! ❤️

Cats are very jealous too.

I remember the first time my cat showed me affection. I was getting ready for work & preparing his food/water/litter when he rubbed against my leg. Now he'll jump into my bed & still head bump me when I wake up & will lay down next to me. Contrary to most beliefs, he loves his stomach rubbed (to a certain extent of course 😹). He loves both me & my mother but my mom always days he's distressed when I have to leave. I love that little jerk

it’s funny. my cats (I have three of them) knew my ex was pregnant before she and I did. my cats know when I have a seizure coming and will cluster around me. my cats get visibly upset when i’m preparing to go to work. my cats 100% know when i’m sad, and will again cluster around me. They know when i’m mad, and will do things to cheer me up such as playing around in ways that make me laugh. they know when they did something wrong with a mere glance and will come up to apologize. cats are incredible.

I live in the country. Yesterday someone was doing target practice in their back yard. Naturally this scared Todd (my cat). He came up to me and sat on my lap after a while of feeling me be relaxed and unaffected by the gunshots he totally relaxed too. I have trouble defining love, but I can point at examples.

People in that hospital like "Oh no, you keep Oscar out of here!"

Imagine being a patient in that facility. You wake up one day feeling so good you think you might go home soon... AND THEN FRIGGIN' OSCAR SHOWS UP.

This is so true when I was very sick and was dying my cat literally laid on my chest and she was purring so hard because my heart rate dropped extremely low I was rushed to the hospital found out I had SEPSIS which is deadly and will kill you between 6-12 hrs if not treated immediately I was also sick from mold and my cat knew cats are very intelligent I love her even more she saved my life on several occasions she also knew when I was depressed and crying

Why would you freak out. Cats are comforting and are smarter than humans and cats do have a strong sense of smell too.

My previous 17 year old recognized everything I did and knew what comes next. I had my car for repair for one week and I borrowed my friends car. He always came inside when I arrived, but when I didn't have my car he didn't recognize the engine sound so he wouldn't come to the back door unless I called for him. When I got my car back, he always approached as I parked my car outside again, just like he always did.

My cat is my very dearest friend. We know what each other are saying, can’t speak the language but totally understand.

This is all true. I've experienced all this because I've owned many cats.

Changes in owners is right. I go through periods of sleeping and sleeplessness. Right now I’m on my nothing but sleep. And my two cats wait patiently for me. They cuddle up to me more. They want to be around me and when I go to another room one or both follow to keep an eye on me. Only when they see that I’m fine do they do their me time in their cupboard condo, or on my recliner and both love lying on my art chair at my dining room table ignoring the four other chairs. 99% of the time are either on me, near me or in the same room with me. I get head bunts, plenty of marking and lots of kneading and purring. I never feel alone with my little guardians. And before I go to bed one or the other or both want their extra before bed cuddling. Or pound my closed bedroom door until I do. I love these two so much. But it took two months before my boy began to open up to me. I had to really earn it with him. My girl and I have that girl thing going on. She took right to me. I love my cat kids so much. My only regret of cat ownership is that didn’t have two from the beginning in 1980. Having two cats is twice the love and cuddles.

So glad to know that cats are aware of the love we have for them, l have always wondered about this. Many animals, not only cats, have a " natural clock " in their head. My late father always said the horses that pulled their plows & wagons, would reliably stop within a few minutes of 12 noon every work day, to be fed.

I met a neighbor who had a Corgi that I was allowed to pet. She was the first Corgi I ever met and what a social little butterfly she is. When I got home and my two smelled that dog on me they weren’t happy. I was ignored the rest of the afternoon. Then they forgave me at night. Funny babies.

David Dosa, M.D., wrote a book about Oscar. It's called _Making Rounds with Oscar: The Extraordinary Gift of an Ordinary Cat._ It's a good read. According to Oscar's Wikipedia page, it was announced in 2010 that a feature film based on the book was planned. I don't know if it was ever made.

I’ve already picked up on lots of these things with my furry feline boy. But I did learn a few things. Interesting video for a new cat parent. I’ve had mine almost 6 years. Since he was born.

My son-in-law recently had a bout with diverticulitis. Daughter told me Biff had been sleeping on the side of his blockage for a couple of weeks. 6 days later, Biff ends up with a blockage. Both are recovered now, but Daughter & I decided that Biff was like John Coffey (from the Green Mile) & just didn't know how to "blow out" the infection. Crazy? Maybe, but we're going with it 😻

I had a cat once that would wake me up at night if I stopped breathing (I have a regular problem with that), was the first to detect that I had a thyroid disorder before we did by always checking my throat (which he stopped doing after I started receiving treatment), and lay across my arms during my anxiety attacks so I couldn't pull at my hair and purr until I calmed down. My current cats do similar things but also remain close to me at all times like they need to make sure I'm okay.

I am a certified Cat Master! I trained my cat to acknowledge commands like a dog. I've always had male Tabbys and she is my 1st female cat and she is a Snow Shoe breed, which I've never even heard of until the Warden brought her home. I was mad at 1st because my wife didn't consult with me (as usual) before making the decision to have a cat. I was gonna give it away until I seen her head pop out of the box. 7 weeks old, all white with icey blue eyes, pink toe beans, pink nose, and pink lips. 💙 She was meant for my son and he named her... Stinky. I tried to get him to change it but that's what he wanted. Anyway, I will never forget how she squared up with my neighbors Pit Bull when their dog got to close to my son. Luckily nothing happened but I was extremely proud of her for that. She is very protective. She growls at the sound of the doorbell and stands guard at the side of whoever opens the door. If she is asleep upstairs, I could call her from the basement and you would hear her GALLOP through the house at full speed to get to me. She uses me as her personal mattress every damn night which was cute when she was a baby but now she is a year and a half old and it's a bit annoying waking up to her pink toe beans in my face... between her and my Warden/Wife always having a leg 🦵 and/or arm on me... I haven't had a good night's rest in a long... long time but it's worth it 🫠 My apologies for the long comment... feels almost cathartic lol. Since I get to admit this here what I would never say to anyone in person, I love both of my Stinky Mamas 😊

My cat brings me his toys to play fetch when I’m getting ready to leave the house.

As a child, i had to stay with my grandparents for some time. I would have to sleep in a room where their cats never entered. I was scared most nights, sleeping alone in that room. Until one night my grandma's cats decided to enter my room, lay in my bed, and sleep beside me. It became their habit and every night those cats became my companions. They must have absolutely sensed i was afraid. I cherish that memory until today.

I am chronically depressed with a couple of chronic illnesses. Both my mental and physical ailments have ups and downs. My cats automatically become more playful on the days I feel better, but way more mellow on those I am not well. They are the best

my cats went to the front door before I got there. So my husband knew I was coming home. My brother had a cat that licked his head/hair when he had a migrain, and even right before it started. Also it would sit with him more often when he was about to have an epileptic seizure. When I was pregnant my cats would sit so close to me (and on top of me) that my husband couldn't get close to me. It was like they were telling him "Back off! YOU caused this!"

My cat, Smokey, knows my routines very well and gets very insecure when routine is broken. He is not concerned when I get ready for work because he knows that I will return in about 10 hours. He gets upset and sulks when I put on makeup and jewelry (which isn't often) because that means I am going to a social event and will be away for an uncertain amount of time.

My Milo always somehow knew if I was going to have a seizure and alerted my partner

Manny has two meows, mom and MOMMMM! The second he sounds like a cackling witch because it’s long and drawn out, harsh sounding and loud! My girl has a soft meow or trills. Only time she raises her voice is when her brother is pestering her and she screams. I tell him to leave his sister alone and he usually does. Other than those things my two are mostly silent. They have me well trained to respond to when they talk.

My cat meows at me in a different tone when I'm sick and stays near. Also when I sing or hum a sad song he gets worried that I'm sad and meows and rubs on me 😢 I love him so much

My husband is a brittle type 1 diabetic & when his sugar is dropping our Sassy knows. She will go to my husband & start pawing on his legs or sits on his left side & pats on his arm - totally amazing as he has experienced a full arrest & 3 terrible seizures before Sassy came into our life.

I don’t do well in the rare thunderstorm. I get tense and agitated. So my two crowd next to me or settle on me on the couch. If I start pacing checking outside I have two sets of cat eyes watching every move. I get so agitated I go upstairs, my cats come up, find me and cuddle to calm me and I’m good for the rest of the night. Cat’s 2 and 3 of years past couldn’t have cared less how I am in thunderstorms. They’d sleep right through it. It in a way that was therapeutic. Their non caring about thunder and lightening flashes helped somewhat to calm.

I grew up on a dairy farm in the Deep South, and am now 72 years old. I have been around many different types of animals for a long time. It had never occurred to me that cats, or any other animal, might NOT be aware of the passage of time. I think the idea that they might not be is ludicrous and not worth discussion.
