The measure of intelligence is a lot of different things guys... Look up how an IQ test works if you want to know how the measure of intelligence is broken up. These guys may seem like they know everything, but they're making short step by step videos after like a day of research. Nothing here is worth taking seriously except the early reading levels and finding all tasks to be simple.

I would just like to send out a great big thank you for posting this video. I'm a middle-aged lady who gets constantly berated for having these attributes. Someone very close to me, just today tried to belittle me about not having enough friends. Needless to say, I gave myself the permission to be released from that persons expectations, and subsequently excused myself from their presence. Not everyone should be the same. What makes the world a beautiful place, is all of our unique qualities and differences. Conformity is not always classy. Be true to yourself, and Do you.💯😇💯✌💯

Randall C Your 2nd sentence is incorrect grammar and a comma-splice. After “yes,” you were supposed to use a preposition to make it a complete sentence. You’re supposed to use commas only when the portion after the comma is not a complete sentence that’s also preceded by a preposition or if that portion was a complete sentence. So it should be - “And yes, ‘after’ getting my PhD , I realized ‘that’ I know..” - You’re not as smart as you think you are, so stop trying to correct people on their wording in comment sections..

So feel like I'm so weird, when I was a kid my parents had me tested because they thought I may be "slow" but ends up I'm almost a few points from being a genius but I do have ADHD. If I'm not interested in something like school I do horrible (except when I had teachers I really liked then I did great) but if it's something I'm interested in I know everything about it... Another weird thing is I feel like I'm a slow learner it's like I have to understand everything their is to it, like why does each thing do what it does. That makes me feel not very smart, but I just tell myself it will pay off in the long term. Other people say I'm a fast learner, so it may just be me knowing I don't know everything about the subject. Anyone else feel like that?

Hmmm... ... ... well, honestly? I used to relate with some elements of your comment, but if you allow me - let me share with you a concept/feeling/idea that "set me free": no one is for real. Simple as that. By "for real" i mean "no one is serious about anything". Not because they don't want to but simply because no one absolutely NO ONE holds a VAST amount of information on the majority of the interconnected matrix of areas of expertise that we may find in everyday life. Got it? Every little sentence; Every little idea; Every little "opinion"... if it were put to scrutiny - would probably display a gross lack of information, and thus: not more than a haste assumption, probably inaccurate. ... let me be more specific here with an example: "How are you?" You may answer "I'm fine" "Really? Do you hold the necessary amount of data on Human Psychology to say that your current situation could probabilistically be labeled as fine? I don't think so." See how annoying things can get if we are restrict with what is Good/Bad, Right/Wrong etc... ? Gastronomy Politics Social Dynamics Physics Chemistry Biogenetics Medicine Psychology Molecular biology Engineering Molecular Engineering Entrepreneurship Psychiatry Mathematics Algebra Neuroscience Metallurgy... and the list goes on and on and on and on... ... each one of these subjects could take your LIFE of dedication to fully comprehend it. Ok, let's say that you really are a genius in the true sense of the word - you could still dominate 5 or 8 different fields of expertise... but would completely ignore HUNDREDS or others. ... and not only that... ... also, EVEN when we know the true facts about something, your body is an automatized system that always AUTOMATICALLY searches for its own chemical balance - and by this, is mandatorily twisting and adapting the meaning of the data that comes into contact with (cognitive biases influences that). So what do we got, in the end? A person who knows 3% or less of the available information on the planet, behaving for personal interests (pride and self-image management) trying to project his/her own incomplete/inaccurate thoughts about things that they do not know onto others. Mr. Eric... no one is serious. No one is for real - not even me, right now. So when you say to me that you think you are a slow learner bcos ppl said X or Y to you... well man, they damaged your self-image thru repetition, sorry for that. Sorry to say but you are also not a genius... You're not ugly, You're not tall You're probably not dumb You are not anything you did not accept to be. ... and even when you accept a label - chances are that if we are restrict on how to verify the authenticity of it - it would turn out to be wrongly labeled. ... Eric - you are YOU. Nothing else. Sadly you and me we are products of our environment - colors, people, objects, sentences, dreams... everything shaped us into what we are now... but there is nothing nothing ...that prevents us from changing ANYTHING about us at any moment but ourselves. Well I can still keep up with the comment, but it's already quite long and I believe I made my point. That's my massage to you, man. I accepted by heart what I've said here, and today I consider myself completely free and indifferent towards external judgment - _everyone knows nothing about everything._ So be free my friend, we are all unique we all have this only chance to do with our existence whatever we feel like into it. Just be proud of what you are (if you want) and aim towards your goals knowing that you are the most important person in the planet. Hugs from Brazil!

@@johnfox1991 Excellent comment you wrote. I'm at a point in life I think that to be brilliant is to not buy into this system of things. To be successful also can have many meanings to many people. I think as we destroy our environment by so called progress, we're proving society, especially those we've allowed to control and condition us as to what these things are, we're fools, fooling ourselves.

My husband is the most unique kind of intelligent person. He lost his ability to read when he suffered a brain injury as a child, so he’s functionally illiterate. But in all the other areas aptitude, he’s really smart and creative beyond any book learning that I have acquired. He can fix any small gadgets, Jerry-rig his own original small gadgets and has a crazy, warped sense of humor that keeps me laughing and smiling all day long. And he’s also a pool shark who could easily hustle even the smartest banker out of them all out of his money. Me, I good with the books, and I figure that with his mechanical skill and my book learning, we can take on the whole world, and I love him so much.♥️😂

Most important is willing to challenge yourself and grow as a person. I used to not like learning but as I got older and wiser, I constantly want to grow my knowledge and do everything I learned from school. I take notes for almost everything and constantly want to be challenge and be uncomfortable. I became willing to take risks and expand what I know. I love hearing and learning different prospective of things.

Yes. That old line about talking to oneself being the first sign of madness really refers to those poor unfortunates who walk down the street having a private argument with themselves. That is a sign of serious mental illness. Merely thinking out loud, I find, is generally a sign of higher intelligence.

Best video ever. Many of these things I used to talk about 20 years ago before there was research because I was trying to figure out why no one could understand me or how I thought. So glad this is all coming out... the hyper focus thing, yeah. Once I went to the library to study for a test in the morning, but instead a book in the stacks caught my eye and one thing led to another and like 14 hours later they flashed the lights in the library to signal closing and I was surrounded by books and notes... and I was like “DANG!” I was just starting to make progress. I never did study for the test. 😐 I taught myself neuroscience that way too. I left graduate school because they didn’t get it. I was operating on different assumptions by then about basic nature of brains and reality. I am feeling a little better today about being so different and I wanted to thank TOPTHINK!! 🥰 I i’m currently sitting in my car in Santa Monica California. I live in my car because having a regular day job and apartment tends to cut into my thinking time if you dare ask me a question about something non-trivial like a big question get ready because you’ll get an answer that I guarantee it will be much more than you ever anticipated 😂

@@billkaiana7441 Ya, I have had several friends who went to or taught at Harvard. One of them was in my freshman year of undergraduate school. He had a full scholarship to Harvard but had a nervous breakdown there and was trying to recover at the university in Iowa I decided to attend because my parents met there etc. I will never forget that as long as I live. Seeing him and what happened to him. Then I had another friend in Canada Jordan Peterson who I have known for 20 years since before he was famous. He did better there as a professor but ran into issues at the University of Toronto later. I wasn’t in school for achievement or degrees just to learn things. To interact with humans etc. and use the library. I nearly flunked out of school in every single grade until high school. So I never really had the “drama of the gifted child” thing-never learned to get along to go along. I have an 160 IQ which I value but there’s other things about me I value more. Like total motivation for truth. You hardly ever meet anyone like that, humans having selected them out with politics in the past pretty heavily. The bell-curve can tell you all about history. The shape of it in different groups tells me the personality patterns of the ancestors statistically. It is much more meaningful to me. Everything is. It’s like I am the only “reality literate” person I know because of this odd thing. I read reality and the universe like it was written. My first book was on how the universe is like a giant textbook. Lol. 😂🙏🏻👍🏻

Who says you're too sensitive? Usually people that trample on your feelings and expect you just to take it. Notice the ways in which you are sensitive. Write that down. And find ways to utilize your sensitivity as your gift to the world!

I exhibited high intelligence at an early age, and an elephant like memory. I achieved high 90s on my california achievement test and was able to memorize 54 pages of the wizard of oz show at 4 years old. I fed everyone their lines! I was so super smart and still am! I am just waiting to move on and start a new life!

Also intelligence doesn't mean very much if your emotional life is in a shambles. So ultimately, emotional intelligence is the key. Was that Richard Pryor at 7:43? 😊😊 His jokes definitely had 'many levels'

Yep, it appears to be ... however, why it caught my attention was because it was the ONLY example of someone being brilliant ...and NOT White and wearing a suit. This video is best LISTENED to - rather than Watched ... because unless you are White, Male and wear suits all the time ... it sends a powerful visual message, that you are NOT in the brilliant demographic.

so true, I hit all 13 of these. however , I do get bored easily with the world, so I have to come up with ways t entertain myself. sometimes I like to pronounce words wrong and weird just to see if anyone can figure it out. to see if they can put together the sounds as a string of letters and see the real word I'm saying.

This is DEFINITELY me, and I hate it! I have to fight with myself day and night, no one can relate to my sarcastic jokes, strangers at the store ask if I'm talking to myself, I can't sleep right away cuz I think too much, and I feel like a walking history book, gotta get people to be more open-minded and less judgmental, and now people are complaining about this Coronavirus and they hate staying home. I love being home! And, I'm wondering why do they not like home and feel the need to go out! Ugh. I don't know. And, I hate typing on this phone! I actually got asked to have my own space on Quora, but I write too much and it takes hours to type on this damn phone! Night night! 🌙

I'm definitely not good at standardized tests and math for that matter. But the others are pretty accurate. I'm glad I'm not alone in this! I always feel like the weirdo in my group and because of this video I realized I've downplayed my intelligence in my friend groups because humbly I'm always smarter than everyone.

Question: When rolling three dice, what is the probability that at least one of them is a six? Book: 1-(5/6)^3 Me: A rational number. How big? Not necessary equal to the answer given above, because I'm not told that the dice were six-sided. Or honest. Or have just successive numbers on it starting with 1.

Oh Jeesh ‘multi-tasking’ is a buzzword people feel they need to self-describe or they’re lacking. NO ONE can multi-task; just switching from one task to another really quickly which leads to mistakes. ALWAYS challenge anyone to cite a peer-reviewed study from a credible source to prove otherwise. Not a single person ever had

Growing up I used to always make great grades on all my test, pop quizzes, and all my classroom work but I'd never do my homework unless I was able to jot down soom things last minute before class started. I made so pretty good grades but could have easily made the best grades in the school easily if I had applied myself more. I've always had a ton of common Sense and can do almost anything. It has always been clear to me that I'm really smarter than most and I love to learn at least one new thing every day. I don't like to brag about it most of the time cause I like for most people to not know just how smart I actually am. I do however as find myself telling and explaining to my wife and son over and over again because they both make me mad by saying things like I'm not as smart as I think I am! 😠😠😁😁

My kind of intelligence has always been, that I don't care about academic achievements or the pursuit of wealth, because I see beyond them. Oh yeah, my sense of humor, nothing else has gotten me in more trouble than my sense of humor. I've lost friends, I've lost jobs, I've been accused of stalking women, I've been called mentally ill, I've even had the police called on me, when I was only laughing and having innocent fun or trying to have fun and enjoy life with various people
