@randychris5031 I found myself in a work situation where an African American woman made a racist comment about white people in the workplace. I thought about my options. Should I hit her? Well, no. Should I taddle on her? Well, what would the end result be? Instead, I considered maybe this is her own insecurity and it makes her feel more empowered. Surely, it represents her as being more shortsighted. Perhaps it's best to just allow her to keep being her, and not let it bother me. In this dilemma, where I feel like everyone should be able to work in a place without discrimination, I weigh the odds, provide charity to the perpetrator of this disrespect, and end up with the best result.

Learning how to deal with haters is challenging. It pays to learn even if corrupt and bad people think you have lost and they have won. Refuse to play their zero sum games that are rigged against you. Know that you are right, even if haters disrespect you. Realize that many people are driven by misperceptions, delusions, emotions, and not logic. Realize that some people are just impossible and evil and cannot be appeased and look for so called errors to exploit.

Sometimes humour can be used with great effect. If you can laugh at yourself and at the situation, you can also get them to drop their defences and see things from your perspective. I did this today with some belligerent men. I let them know I was onto their in-jokes and had a laugh about it. You can turn the tables, do the unexpected and this can be disarming. Especially if you can laugh. Laugher is a massive piece in your armoury and it can be used to defuse tension. It's also been used by oppressed people for centuries. "First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win." Mahatma Gandhi

@mauritaschut8466
@mauritaschut8466 3 ай бұрын
I understand where you are coming from but something to remember is that when we are desperate for anything, it opens the door to all kinds of charlatans and con artists who will happily take advantage of our desperation. Desperation is the opposite of stoicism. However, I empathize with being very thirsty for knowledge and understanding, and that drive and desire can be the perfect catalyst to learn and incorporate really useful ideas, knowledge, and wisdom. Do you meditate? Not that you have to, of course, but it's a really great place to really ground yourself and start getting in touch with your own higher wisdom. The more you adopt it as a daily practice, the more everything starts to make more sense, and you start seeing yourself and the world from a whole new, amazing perspective. And absolutely, start learning from experienced, wise teachers that walk the talk, while also always checking in with your own intuition. There are a lot of resources online, you do not NEED a "guru" these days like we did in the past because there is a plethora of information at our disposal and we can so easily look up questions we have and find GOOD answers that RESONATE with us. Be open, curious, and eager to learn while retaining healthy skepticism. I have found many great teachers online, including on KZfaq, whether from this Era or those who have passed over, and they have helped me a lot. But just because I respect and appreciate them and their opinions does not mean I just accept everything they say. I always keep in touch with my higher wisdom through meditation, which really helps me weed out stuff that doesn't resonate. (And if u aren't a meditator and want to learn, a great place to start is with guided meditations; Brian Scott's meditations are among my favorite on YT, but there r a lot of other really great options) Aaron Abke's "Mind Science" series is great for all things to do with understanding and dealing with our ego. Michael Singer is an older guy whose written some well-known, life changing books (like the Untethered Soul) and he has a great podcast on YT. Oh man, there's so many, it just depends what your cup of tea is. If i started a list, i dont know where it'd end!There are teachers from every different Era, from all around the world, and whether you read their stuff, listen to audio books of their writings/works (if u cant buy them, there r lots for free on YT) or they have podcasts/shows, you have lots of free access and lots of perspectives. As you go along, you realize that the really good ones have a lot in common, just different ways of expressing their thoughts and different things they focus on. Just remember, you don't have to learn it all in a week, a month, or a year. You will happily spend the rest of your life learning, just like they did/do. That's what brings wisdom. I'm sorry for the long rant, I hope it was at least a little bit helpful.☺️🙏💫 Have a wonderful day🌞

My teacher once told me: when you're looking for a teacher, stop. Because it is wasteful to look outside of yourself for guidance. You and those who work on your behalf (guides, guardians, ancestors, angels, ect) are the best teachers you could have. * When you're looking outside, you ignore the inside. You are Creator. You are Spirit experiencing humanity. Every drop of wisdom you desire is already yours. You just have to tune in and let go of doubt. Find validation within yourself. Learn to honor what resonates with you and works against you. Tap in and listen. And if you're still looking for a teacher, I would recommend the Four Agreements if you haven't read it already. Most of my teachers I've never met in person, but their role in my life is no less great than those I have! Many blessings. 🩶

I have read this in the bible conquering yourself, your anger is not a wise person. Angry person is a fool, so it means rage and anger can really be conquered. Delaying anger and not responding is the best solution especially when your life is in danger, really you can only compromise. Your bestfriend is yourself in any given situation.

It`s so good to know that although we may have better technology than societies in the past, there have always been people who were struggling with the same personal conflicts as we do today. Even thousands of years ago, some people were incredibly intelligent and wise, and their incredible findings are still echoing through time, waiting to be heard and put to use. Nothing is as captivating as the enigmatic psychology of every single fellow man. Everyone's inner life has its own unique fingerprint.

I was also told if you show out in that spot you will get corrected in that same spot, so be careful. Everyone doesn't have your same teaching We mostly behave according to how we had to survive in a certain environment. So, coming from the hood, you had to be very firm so no person could think they would run over you or get you in trouble. So, being a leader meant this at times . If you hit me, I will hit you back to get you off of me. Only in certain situations don't But when you are dealing with the enemy, you can't show signs of fear. Not where I am from, you will get eating alive. So change according to your environment 💪🏽😇💗However don't go around doing bad do good.

@sheilacarter3806, This is interesting from the perspective of gun violence in some big cities. I was once on a jury, where a man from the hood was on the stand, accused of murder. He started to explain how it was necessary to have a gun. To my surprise, the judge let him speak for quite a long time, and asked him questions about the culture of the hood. His answers were enlightening, and gave all of us on the jury a perspective we hadn't considered. He basically felt he couldn't trust ANYONE. He was scared all the time. Very vigilant. He looked and acted dangerous, he said, because he felt he had no choice. I thought, wow, he has courage to say all of this stuff when there were many people from the hood in the courtroom as observers of the case. It was a very interesting but complicated case, involving a number of people trying to pass the "hot" smoking gun off, to pin the murder on another guy. I was glad the judge encouraged him to speak.

I wish our world leaders today learn, at least some of this timeless, Stoicism wisdom in order to overcome the divide and to create a bridge of understanding. If they, at least, seek comprehension rather than dominant, world would be much safer place to live. "Not me, but us"...This, life-vital stoic's technique, should be taught in our schools instead of brainwashing stupidity.

The first scenario (be a fly on the wall) is very powerful. When heated debates occur it can become surreal anyway, take it to your advantage, be the proverbial fly on the wall. Get out of your body ride above and observe the complete scene. Listen to what is being said and review what you had said. Many times it all seems pointless or even comical. You now have the upper hand. Keep calm and now slowly and calmly act. Time is playing tricks on you and trust it is in hyper speed. Pause and remember doing nothing is often the very most powerful response. You are your own hero or champion, do not become concerned about what your antagonistic opponent thinks, consider how you will respond and how it aligns with your higher self, respecting virtue. There are bystanders and you are now speculating on how they are judging you? You can start to hear their thoughts? NONSENSE it is all a nasty game in your head, years of pre programming defending your crazy illogical ego. Stay calm do nothing walk away, or do something you are compelled to do ONLY after you are fully convinced your actions are universally beneficial. This does not include vanity by looking better than the other/s. It does include clear headed analysis, like the derogatory letter you say on for a day then decided not to send. Moments of nervous intensity and anger will come and they are a good time to do nothing, why? Because you are not at your best. Please be well! MarkMannM2

I noticed that much of this is taught in scripture. One thing that stands out though is the lack of glory due to god . A great assessment of national theology perhaps but would need the light of the word of god to interpret rightly. Thank you for this friend, learned much

That's because religions basically hijack good virtues and reassigns their source to a god, rather than a natural characteristic of the evolved human psychology. The main problem with this misconception is the adherent doesn't develop an inner moral conscience on the basis of empathy, compassion, sympathy and a sense of fairness, instead is motivated by fear of punishment and reward in the afterlife. It can also have tragic negative impacts when scripture is misused to motivate an otherwise good person to do evil things.

This is excellent guidance, in a nutshell, stay calm and unemotional, determine why a person feels the way they do and foster a team approach toward a resolution. But I would disagree with the title of this video, you shouldn't want to destroy anyone, and anyone you would consider an enemy is someone who has such character flaws that there could never be any meaningful and lasting resolution....with these people just quietly walk away.

I thought the same thing when forwarding this video to friends. I told them to ignore the title and just listen to the message because there is nothing menacing in it. On reflection, I think the enemy being destroyed here is one's own self, when one is seeking revenge and/or angrily jumping to conclusions. I happily saw this program 3 days ago and used its advice not only to delve into my past to understand my grievances but helped my angry and perplexed daughter begin to look into her own, and now after decades of mistrust I think we have begun to try to understand and better communicate.

What if all of this doesn’t work? If only agreeing with them, having empathy and you are left with blame and shame? I statements do not work because they are done, with their demands and leave you insulted, while they are unwilling to hear you? What if they respond with “I’m sorry, that You Feel That Way”. “I don’t want to talk about it any more”, as soon as they finish talking, and you would like to respond, but are cut off by their unwillingness to hear anything you would like to say, except that you agree with them about everything that they say… My therapist and best friend, say it’s toxic for you with her only allowing her children to mediate. Letting go will need to happen, so I left unpaid and unheard by her. I forgave and don’t feel bad. I feel freed. 😊
