For everyone saying how she's involved in the big lick and abuses her horse: THE BIG LICK is much different from saddle seat. That horse was OBVIOUSLY trained to get it's knees up, not abused. If it was abused, it's knees would be much higher, and scarring would be obvious. She's not abusing her horse so back tf off.

Thank you people ar always thinking Saddle seat is big lick
@Lauren-vd4qe3 жыл бұрын
u need to CLARIFY that the big sick lick is only with tennessee walking horses NOT american saddlebreds/morgans and saddleseat is done with SADDLEBREDS/morgans not TWH.

Well…. In saddle seat… They do an unnecessary and possibly death threatening procedure on the tail to make it go higher, and yes, they actually do put special shoes on, it is just not as visible in saddleseat. That is not a natural gate. That is not a natural look. It is a costume purely for the purpose of making money.

The technical name of the show is Morgan Grand National and World Championship Horse Show. The qualifying classes get you national titles and the championships get you world titles. So she won her qualifier and her championship to be able to get both.
@starry16682 жыл бұрын
@@hopepazaras1157 morgans can go to worlds and saddlebreds have been to mgn as well (only 1 i think however). however at worlds it was a eq horse that won and a roadster horse that won a reserve world title back to back.

It is. that's lots of a short name for it. Grand national and world championship morgan horse show is what it's actually called and there's a "qualifier" class which is grand nation and then the championship class which is world champion

@marijahristovski35584 жыл бұрын
Im a licensed and certified Veterinary nurse of 26 years in Columbus, Ohio, and I've owned, trained, and showed both saddlehorses and morgans since I was 12 years old. I'm now 43 years old.. First, that video is at the Morgan Nationals in Oklahoma. The equitation and saddlehorse championship is in Louisville, Kentucky. So she did not win any equitation world or national saddleseat title. She won her age groups equitation championship class at that particular show, which happened to be the Morgan National championship, but holds no special recognition than winning any equitation championship class for her age group at any recognized morgan and saddlebred saddleseat horse show. At Oklahoma, only the actual morgan horse can win a title(ie., National 3 year old in hand gelding champion, or national park horse champion, or national pleasure horse champion, etc.) There is a difference between winning a championship class and winning a championship title. BUT NOW, MORE IMPORTANTLY!!! WHAT NEEDS TO BE HIGHLIFHTED IS THAT NER HORSE IS LAME IN THE REAR AND EVEN STUMBLES BOTH IN PRACTICE AND IN SHOW IN THE VIDEO !!!! WTF??!!! And finally, as for her skills, well let's just say it must have been a small class and very few equitation riders in her age group . It should be about enjoying the experience, and the beauty of saddleseat and of course, the magnificence of the saddlebred and morgan horse breeds.....but of you're going to claim yourself as a natural champion in an actually highly competitive sport, then you better come with it little girl, or go home!!! Which you really need to do anyway because you need to address your horse's lameness first and foremost. Lesson #1 in true horsemanship is- love and care for your horse more than anything and anyone including yourself and winning titles . But all aside, her legs are too far forward, she need her heels out and toes in, her hands, well well leave those alone out if kindness, and far from a natural. She looks far too rigid, holding her breath, barely smiles, her posting looks forced and anything but comfortable, you can tell her horse is push button when you're not watching him even trot lame and stumble, and I almost wanna hand her toilet paper.... I know I sound awful and mean, but honestly, who the #uc% is judging???

Hey, what’s with the whip?
@leafygreen90366 жыл бұрын
Lexi what about it?
@TH-qy2li6 жыл бұрын
To provide aids and be an extension of your arm
@lexi45276 жыл бұрын
So if you didn't have the whip you would just slap or hit the horse if he wasn't "listening" or going if he was "going too slow" I get when your lunging or idk liberty or whatever....but when your riding why don't you just give a squeeze. I mean when your riding, I don't get the point of the whip! It just makes the horse be driven by FEAR instead of trust.
@TH-qy2li6 жыл бұрын
Lexi You may not be riding at a high level like this saddleseat rider or dressage rider, so I'll inform you. In dressage for example, they have to deliver much more complicated aids than just "squeezing their legs". A whip allows them to tap the horse's hindquarters or legs. Dressage whips are never used for hitting. That would be a crop, which is used in show jumping or other disciplines. Saddlebreds are very energetic and spirited and don't need to be hit to go faster.
@lexi45276 жыл бұрын
Do you ride at a high level as those disciplines? Just asking...
@kay39636 жыл бұрын
Why are her hands so high????
@laurenrousell81176 жыл бұрын
Uttėrly Blü That’s just the way saddle seat riders ride.
@TH-qy2li6 жыл бұрын
Uttėrly Blü Because the horse has a high headset. It just wouldn't work if she tried to hold them in a "normal" position
@raven71463 жыл бұрын
It’s the type of riding. For this, you’re usually supposed to keep your hands higher than usual, to keep the horse’s neck up. It depends on the horse though
@laurendoerr9 жыл бұрын
Why she feels the need to use a shank bit and double rains I do not understand. If she was really in control and her horse and her were properly trained she should be able to do that without a bit in a rope halter or at least only use a snaffle bit.
@rachelcarrdin9209 жыл бұрын
Saddleseat higher-level shows require a full bridle. It's a requirement of that division, so she uses one. It's not like she doesn't know what she's doing -- a good rider knows her bit and uses accordingly.
@hollynewman33909 жыл бұрын
Agree
@user-kj6re2ll5e9 жыл бұрын
This is different type of riding from jumping want western, I have been doing it for 8 years because of my mom and gramma, anyway u need to ranges well it's a full bridle because the horse is a show horse which is when I canter and trot or rack and slow gate, I don't know the exact answer to why we need two most people ride with two it doesn't matter about control she has control no matter how many ranges she has
@zer-jh9ek9 жыл бұрын
Like Rachel said, it's required. She was not pulling on the horse, and I think she kept her curb rein pretty slack.
@annaedwards60048 жыл бұрын
+laurendoerr Saddleseat always uses a full bridle. It's flashy and the curb bit is only used for a little more control at shows and such. A lot of these horses, when working at home, are ridden in a simple snaffle bit. You shouldn't judge something you don't understand.
