I do the 50 hour review of my TYM T474 with backhoe. Am I happy with the T474?! You will have to watch to find out! The TYM T474 is a compact tractor made in South Korea, and assemble is the U.S.

I just bought my T474 TYM 2 months ago, it came with Bluetooth speakers, ROPS led lights, roof top and a backhoe step and I absolutely love this tractor. 👍

New sub here. Love your delivery and no BS honest no holds barred review for folks (like us at our place) who just want to know if this thing actually works or not and what issues we may need to work thru. We just picked up a new 574 cab hydrostatic drive version of this yesterday from a dealer 4 hours away. I've only been in the seat long enough to unload it off of the trailer but I am looking forward to learning this tractor. Keep up the good work!

We don't have aTYM dealer anywhere near us here in Iowa. Cabelas (sp) used to offer 3 or 4 tractors that I am pretty sure were TYM. A friend of mine bought one and loves it. We had for a very short time, a TYM dealer 40 miles from me. That was gone in just a few months. I am all things tractors. I am all about tractors. I like them all. I looked at Mahindra and was pretty impressed with them. I like the Masseys and the New Hollands. I tried to do an interview with the Mahindra dealer but couldn't get him to commit. You did a very good honest review of your TYM John. I really appreciate that. Full watch. Thanks for sharing.

Nice honest review John! That sucks the backhoe feels weak. Hopefully they will get that resolved for ya. I can only imagine how frustrating not having a comprehensive owners manual! I love being able to reference it! Thanks for sharing John!

Thanks Tyler! I believe my dealer will figure it out. The thing about the manual is new tractor owners will have a time with it. I knew even though it wasn't in the manual there were grease zerks under that tractor, so I looked for them and found them. Good one John! It will be interesting to see what the dealer finds out on the lack of flow(?) to the backhoe. It wouldn't take much, so maybe with a set of gauges hooked up, something might show up. If not, they can make pressure comparisons to another 474. Thanks and take care!!

Thank you Pm! That's what they are thinking. Hopefully it's the couplers that's the issue. With that size BH if they can get the power the FEL has to it. That tractor would be a awesome piece of equipment to work. Have a good week! See ya!

Hi John! So glad to hear that you are still pleased with the TYM. There is no excuse for that manual to be so poorly written and with so many mistakes. First time tractor owners might have problems doing maintenance properly as a result, but seasoned tractor owners like you can read between the lines. I hope the dealership can help get the power up to where it needs to be on the backhoe. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you DIY! That was my biggest concern, that new to tractor owners would get confused. I talked to my dealer at length about that. I think the BH issue is in the couplings. Soon as I can get it to them, they will get on it. Have a really great dealer. Have a good week! See ya!

Hello John! I love that tractor. It's the perfect size......Maybe some day I would get one. Yes there is some bad weather down there. I laughed out loud when you started talking about the manual. I have a JD compact tractor and on the backhoe they built a step on the left outrigger. As you let the outrigger down it open with it. When you lift it back up it folds back out of the way. See you on down the road. Stay safe and God bless you and yours.

Great review John! I've always been into Masseys but my closest dealer is 45 minutes away and there is a TYM dealer 5 minutes away from home, been through their lot a few times.

I recently purchased a T474 Hydro and absolutely love it. I shopped all the brands and kept coming back to the TYM machines. Yes, I would completely agree, the manual isn’t that great at all. As for the tractor, I’d buy another one if I wore this one out.

were looking into getting a new tractor and priced wich i priced a newholland t5.115 115hp wich cost $139,000 and $198,900 on john deere 125hp and $63,780 for kubota m6-131 131hp wich was cheaper

Thank you David! You are right about the quick translation of the manual but that can cause a lot of confusion for new tractor owners. I think they mounted it lower to give you a way off that side in an emergency. But as long as they shield it, that would be fine. Have a good week! See ya!

I just bought a cab 474. Quick question. Does your parking brake light come on when you have the parking brake set? Mine only comes on when the dash does a self test when the key is turned on.

Thanks for the informative review, John. I was thinking of buying the 474 with the backhoe attachment until I came across this video. Did they ever fix the boom float and power issues or is the backhoe just useless?

Thank you Jason Barron for watching and the comment! My dealer did fix the boom float problem by cutting down the outriggers joysticks so the boom joystick will clear them. They got me a new center valve for the backhoe but I haven't had a chance to bring it to them so they can replace it and see if that will fix it. They found that the relief valve is popping off to soon. Hope that helps! Have a good week! See ya in the next one!

Good video, overall seems like the T474 has been really good except for the backhoe power issue. Looking forward to the update on the fix. How have those R14 tires been for you? Do you wish you had the traction of R1 at times? Thanks!

I heard a guy who has the t494 say that the loader joystick is not in a good place - has to reach for it. Just wonder if it is better on this smaller tractor?

There is other videos of the 474 being worked. Maybe there is somebody near you that is working it in the same type ground. Glad to see you are doing your homework before buying. What RPMs do you run your 474 at? I have a 574 with Turbo and 1700 RPM seems to be a good spot for me.

Thanks The Truthseeker47, for watching and the comment! I run idle at 1500 rpm and use the paddle to run up the rpms as needed when rolling or working it. If I'm working the backhoe I usually start out at 1700 rpms and go up from there if needed. Have a good week! See ya in the next one!

Thank you Mare Naumovitz, for watching and the comment! I have not needed to regen mine yet. I run my idle at 1500 rpms and use the pedal to run up the rpms when working or moving it. The high rpms help it to burn better so less regens needed. Have a good week! See ya in the next one!

What happened with the backhoe and the relief valve? Did it make a difference?

They did change the valve and they found the relief valve was popping off a few hundred pounds less thin it was set for making it weak on the hydraulics. It tested a lot stronger now that they change it. I haven't had a chance to test it yet. I will do an update video as soon as I get a chance. Have a good one!

My dealer shorten the control levers for the stabilizers so the boomfloat lever can clear it.

Yes sir. It is the center valve. The relief valve is popping off under lower pressure then it should. That got me a new center valve I just haven't had a chance to bring it back so they can change it again. Have a great weekend! See ya in the next one!
