Thanks to Wilwood Mike we got The 55 back on the road again.
We take a drive through Holbrook and then a look around the Wigwam Village #6 museum inside their lobby.
The next morning we’re back out on old Route 66.
We take a look at the Old Fort Historic Marker and an old Garage in Joseph City.
Then we're off to Howdy Hanks, Ella’s Old Frontier Trading Post, the Jackrabbit Trading Post, the Minnetonka Trading Post and a drive through Winslow, AZ.

Ate breakfast at a diner near where you left 40. Had Spam on the menu. Ate dinner at Butterfields and stayed at the Wigwam. Wish I’d had time to hit Col. Mustards. Cool little park downtown.

Is it still possible to randomly travel in these parts without preparation and just check for eating and lodging every day, or do you have to book online in advance everywhere these days?

That’s what I do @blackadder75 I see where I am and where I want to end up and give em a call. It’s all a part of the adventure.

@@jeffthisted thank you! I am very happy to hear that, I am from europe and I certainly will do a summer worth of traveling in the USA at some point in the next years, before everything is gone. (I don;t mind the current decay, sometimes it adds to the charm and times change, old things go and new pop up.) But I would like to have a bit of the old random adventure, just drive to some little town and see what they have. I'll probably rent a vehicle that I can use for sleeping if necessary, but I prefer old skool motels etc.

No @jmark7390 that's the first time I slept in a Wigwam. I've been to all three of the remaining Wigwam Villages but this is the only one I've stayed in so far. It's pretty cool right?!? Have you slept in a Wigwam?

That was the first Wigwam Village I've stayed at@@jmark7390 I've been hearing that the KY one is in bad shape but the CA one is as nice as the AZ WWV.
