One thing you missed about Sonny Gray's outing is the pitch count. He went 5 innings, but was on a pitch count restriction, so he only threw 64 pitches! If it wasnt his first start back, probably couldve easily gotten 7 or 8

Get ready when he walks 5 guys and is out in the 5th too. Got lucky and got out of it last year after Detroit start mid-season. Almost dropped him in fantasy. Whip wasn't great ever gonna burn him soon as he ages. Wont ever be as good as last year - which included some smoke n mirrors. Hes a decent #3 or 4 at best.

I'm just gonna say it.... Kirby needs to throw hands... his knuckleball will save his career. If he threw one every other start , all the hitters would be scared shitless if a dude that throws a 97 mph fastball and a 68 mph butterfly.

Great video as always, but you forgot to mention that they brought Romero back out for the next inning. He struck out another two batters on some really gutsy sliders if i remember correctly. As a Cardinals fan, I have high hopes for such an entertaining pitcher.

On no planet would we ever have a chance to keep Cole after his arb years. He would have been gone as a free agent anyways. Even if there were some alternate reality where the pirates spent money, he probably still moves on to a bigger market, more competitive team. Same for Glasgow most likely. Our time is coming though. Skenes, Jones, Solometo, Chandler plus others are coming up over the next couple years, plus Keller. We are getting there

Props to Glasnow, but you could send 50 Cent out to the mound right now and he'd dominate the Twins. That lineup is ice cold 🥶. Hopefully they can turn it around soon before they fall too far behind.

The Glasnow slider looks more like a really good cutter. It doesn’t have much lateral movement at all. But it’s disgusting none the less.

As a former catcher through 1 year in the minors and having to give it up due to bulging discs in the back.........I absolutely hate the whole new way of catching and it is not just because of change. I can handle change, but it looks awful and lazy just sitting with a damn knee on the ground. I also hate the new form of framing, if you can even call it framing anymore. This whole jerky motion of yanking the clove towards the center just looks bad. Was watching some 1999 Madux Braves action (90s being my most fav Baseball) and watching Eddie setting up in an athletic stance with a nice big target and ability to really move around was what I grew up doing. IDC if I sound old for just being 35, but baseball seems to be more and more about drip and less about what I use to love about the game. If I was made to catch this new way I would have listened to my coaches about switching to a different position because they felt my bat was too good to be wasted on getting burnt out catching (ie Bryce Harper, Josh Donaldson, Craig Biggio all started out behind the plate but got moved to prolong careers and get more out of batting), but I loved catching, at least the way it use to be.

It’s not fair AT ALL how Glasnow’s fastball has a natural cut or run. As a hitter you actually can’t sit on a “fastball” you’re sitting on a Cut/Run/Cannonball

@@SuperCatacata yeah I get that. But this team already has 2 games of 12 strikeouts, 1 game of 14, and 2 games of 15 strikeouts. They broke the record for team strikeouts last year.
