Japan have always produced good players, they should have 150+ players in the mlb right now. If you think that’s high, Venezuela has 100+. The only reason more Japanese players aren’t in the mlb is because of the Japanese leagues posting rule. Japanese players must be posted before signing with an mlb team and usually after 25. They also already get paid millions in japan, so there isn’t a push to sign in the US for money either. In fact many Japanese players take a pay cut by heading to the US. So those who do sign, are just wanting to prove at a higher level in America.

Actually, MLB is the best league because there players from all over the world. Not all Americans, whereas NPB consist mainly by national players, as there are restrictions how many foreign players allowed in each team.

@@brodiea9739Japan was missing tons of their best players. Yusei Kikuchi, Kodai Senga, Shintaro Fujinami, Japans best arms all in the MLB didn’t participate. Hayato Sakamoto and Yuki Yanagita, Tomoya Mori, Japans most powerful bats didn’t participate either just to name a few. Do some research dude.

the rule is fine it would be a lot better if we allowed other markets to develop legit sporting leagues instead of stealing their star talents, our market is huge and it's an easy decision to come play for the money for a period of time but in the end most of them feel pride in themselves and their country. It becomes more obvious when you see how the rest of the world appreciates the WBC but the american market is split in a 60/40 way as to not playing just because we don't like it regardless of the fact if you watch the end of this years wbc you get to see Ohtani celebrate like he never has while playing in the mlb, out of pure pride for his country.

As a Japanese, it would be great to see all the American star players make their transition to the NPB and play against our best guys.

And why is it that Japanese Professionals pitch DOUBLE the amount of MLB pitchers and only have 1/3rd the injuries? Look at the MLB in the 60's and 70's.. Look at the innings of Carlton and Ryan.. Rarely got hurt... Almost every orthopedic surgeon I have ever talked to has said keeping the tendons stretched and in use on a consistent basis, is far more important than rest. Yes, you dont want to OVERUSE your arm, but you need to find that sweet spot and stay there and keep the tendon loose. Too much rest and coddling is why MLB pitchers are getting Tommy John every other year.

And there's a difference between sasaki who throws 100 vs guys in the 70s who throw 92. Risk of injury goes up with more velo. No way you can spin it where 300 pitches isn't completely insane

@@burneraccount9359Obviously, yes... There needs to be a balance. Pitching TOO much is obviously gonna lead to problems. But these days, even when an Ace pitcher is having a solid game, he will barely pitch 100 pitches. Its ridiculous. And with the number of Tommy John Surgeries we see now, compared to elbow injuries in the past, it leads many people to believe(even Orthopedic Doctors), that the current rest period is counter-productive and actually harmful. But, it is a liability and perception thing. If the team is coddling their star, and he still gets hurt, they have zero liability. Every Sports Orthopedic Surgeon I have spoken to here in Japan all says the same thing. The elbow tendon needs consistent stretching and use to be at its optimal strength for durability and longevity. This is why we saw SOOO many pitchers in the 70's and 80's pitch 300 innings per year, and rarely ever get hurt.

I think part of what makes strider’s fastball so good is his low release point, because a lower release requires less initial downwards velocity. It’s easier to get a flatter(rising) fastball without incredibly high spin rate if you have a low release point.

So overall, who was elite over a long career, it’s Kershaw. On the flip side of that, if Koufax played longer then he very well could have been the GOAT. Remarkable numbers, but a very short career in comparison.

Will be a great add for an MLB team. However the stuff isn't nearly as good as Sasaki. I think he will be around a 2.5-3.5 fWAR MLB pitcher

He doesn't pitch THAT many innings. They are taking his future into consideration. I mean, they pulled him out of a perfect game because of his pitch count.

Jacob Degrom best years didn’t come until he got older. Yes he’s injury prone now but his velocity went up from about 95 to about 100 each year as he got older

@@JPuReTaLeNt deGrom started his career at 26 That is why he is still so dominant Say Bumgarner, he started his career at 20 I think he's out of MLB now but he really started sucking at around age 30 Bumgarner is also a year younger than deGrom 🙄 Sasaki seems to be working pretty hard at age 20-21, my guess is by 30 he'll be done too 🤔

Roki is only 21, he hasn’t even reached his prime yet, many more years to develop, its scary as he is already this good.

We can only wait and see. But this kid had a 20 SO perfect game, then almost had another perfect game the next start. His ERA under 1.50 this year, with under 5 hits per 9, 0.1 HR per 9, and almost 14 SO per 9. He has given up just 1 HR this year in 85 innings. Its not quite the MLB, so his performance is insane.

This year, their ERA is the same, but Sasaki has the better hits per 9 and SO per 9. I think Roki is just a bit ahead of Yoshinobu this year.

@@SweetZombiJesus Yoshinobu has done this over a much larger number of innings, and will continue to do so. In the end, the counting stats, like SO and wins will go to yoshinobu even with Roki’s unbelievably high K rate.
