As someone who worked in production. the taping of the lids is done to prevent the bix from opening during the shrinkwrap process (adding by way of heat shrinking a tight plastic packaging). Machines can be finicky and these box lids likely were not made well and wouldn't stay shut. So taping them shut saves the company money and is better for nature as less packaging has to be trashed.

So why not just tape it shut and leave the shrink packaging out?

@@SlothDaan Good question. Considering that it’s further enclosed in the outer wrapping (the branded outside packaging), there is seemingly no need for the shrink wrap “intermediate” layer. Tape the box, insert in outer packaging and be done.

I think this brand should get some props for putting the toy number on the exterior packaging. They give you the best chance possible to avoid duplicates and get the full collection.

My Little Pony also did this with their Blind Bag Ponies back when Friendship Is Magic ones was a thing you could easily find in stores. I usually had to check the number before buying a Blind Bag Pony. I was trying to get the more rare ones from each set and I'd wait to find out the numbers for each pony before buying them. I haven't seen them do this again with anything My Little Pony yet but if they do I'm getting those numbers for the rare stuff so I can get the rare ponies in my collection along with the ones I don't have yet. they usually did this for the collectors and you didn't have to know the numbers if you want to be surprised by what you are getting.

I had huge expectations with the gear one, but since it's a thingy that goes up and down and not a half exposed gear you can spin freely (I really like spinning things, my favourite fidgets are those rings that the middle can spin smoothly and quickly) it was sooooo frustrating…... it's a no for me 😤

So I just found these fidgets called Squirkies and they are kind of amusing, they are like fidget cubes but animal based and some are cute af 😂I have a feeling we may see them with Jackie eventually.

I always get extra excited when you upload a fidget video. I discovered fidget toys a couple of years ago and I use them quite often. My cat hates it when I play with obnoxious ones, he gives the LOOK...😂

I think they probably wrap it like that because it makes it harder for people to unwrap before buying. I've gone into the store and half the mystery bags are opened.

I think at this point we all just need to acknowledge Ace of Clay is your illicit fidget toy supplier. 😎. Bless him. 🤣 I hadn't heard of Fidget FX until I started watching this series. Apparently they do have them in a very popular shop here called The Works. 😊 I'm not a fidget person. I'm more of a 'squisher' and a 'popper', hence my preference for bubble wrap and putty. 😊

Would love to see you check out a Jacob’s ladder toy, I don’t think I’ve seen one in any of your fidget videos. My MIL got one for my son a couple years ago and he LOVES it! I don’t know if most would consider it a fidget but it super fun to just flip around 😊

I absolutely love the Button one though I wish they all either had a clicker button on the side of even just a spinning and push in adjuster dial on the side like a real manual watch for some cohesiveness and extra satisfaction.

For the puzzle one to help the movement maybe a bit of WD40 or something similar. It also works wonders on stiff infinity cubes, a drop or two on each joint and it’ll fold so much smoother.

My workplace recently (like on wednesday) had an all day training/pd day. I was on the organizing committee and suggested we have fidgets on the tables but it was turned down....so i went out and got some little, cheap fidgets (spinners, squeeze balls, mini slinkies, etc) anyway and put them in a bowl by the door. I was on usher duty so i let 0eople know they could take one if they liked. They were a big hit and i'm feeling very pleased with myself :) thank you Jackie. You inspired me to take a stand on something i thought would be benifical.

Also 11:30 is what happens when boxes get stuck in the machine. Again if the thing inside is not broken it just gets processed a second time resulting in dented box in your shrinkwrap. Generally full automatic companies like this create too many products to do more than a once every 10k check on the product. resulting in more flawed packaging/product than if it were a worker operated factory with proper quality control at each step.

As someone who worked at a small factory, I can tell you lots of defective items are let through so as not to slow up the line. That drove me crazy!

Omg my favourite fidget is a random on off clicker thingy i kinda stole from my friend at work😅 It's loud, has the exact amount of resistance that I like and is very comfortable to hold. It has a slightly concaved ( I think that's the word) smooth surface like some fidget cubes have. I love it and I'm sure it's the best clicker fidget ever😁

11:52 They tape the box itself, so it's harder to get into, for thief's. You didn't have to completely un-wrapp the outer layer. Just the 1st few twirls, then cut the tape on top . Also the comment from the production line commenter makes sense also. So probably for both reasons, it's taped on top .

They could have done quite a lot more. They could have made one with a gear that moves the hands of the watch. That's something that I sometimes did as a kid, play around with that little spinny button on the side and watch the hands move backwards.
