Just seen the first one it’s stunning and I love the way that I’m noticing people using the expression “Bobs your Uncle “ it’s actually a northern expression that was used in Manchester when I was growing up in England, When I used it in front of my Daughter about a year ago and my partner once a separate occasion not that long ago they asked what does that mean? Thank you for an easy comprehensive step-by-step excellent tutorial! However, it wasn’t clear to me what it is you use as cell activator other than the mention to Fluetrol. I believe you mentioned Amsterdam paint and water? Is that per se sufficient to create cells? It’s the first time I hear it because I thought something has to be added to the paint (Fluetrol, silicone). Your colours and patterns are outstanding!

Another great video, thanks for sharing again. If cells don't hold form, cell outline/lacing kind of looks faded, dissolved a little when dries could that be that I am over spinning or something to do with the thickness of the cell activator, or both lol I generally use good quality paints, same as you do, my house paints are the same as yours and my CA is most often Amsterdam with Oz Floetrol.

Thank you Kerrie, yep just thicken the colours and CA a little, 2 and a half/ 3:1 works really well but does take a little longer to cell up and sink but they hold well 👍🐨❤️

Awesome explanation for every experience level! I appreciate all the options since varnish is so toxic. Why low sheen for the pillow paint? Any idea what causes your white house paint to "swallow" your colors (besides pigment density)? Thanks!

Hi janille, if you use a gloss for the pillow it's too slippery, the colours you lay down move around as it dries and distorts the design. Blooms and swipes don't work overly well as the paint slides, low sheen or satin has a bit of grip to it.

You do, that's what you are swiping across the colours to get cells or lacing depending on the colour ca you use. Amsterdam paint with water works fine as a ca.

Because house paint I use is stretchy and way cheaper than using quality acrylic paint as a pillow paint.

Amsterdam paint and Aussie floetrol. It's available from fluid-art.co in the states, or you can use American floetrol instead. You can even use just Amsterdam paint and water ( video #86 )

Amsterdam lamp black or oxide black mixed with Aussie floetrol works well as a cell activator, but you can get similar results with just Amsterdam and water. Video #86 shows the process 👍🐨
