what Edition uad native are you using

@@opticalman6417 Hey, not sure what you're asking :) UAD generally started doing a lot of their plugins natively without needing any of their hardware. So I bought some of their bundles and plugins as they always have things on sale, but to be honest I am not even using all that much, i bought more than i could ever need. That is the thing with digital plugins, they don't take up physical space, but you still end up with too many options :D

"Do I really like this?" Yes, that's the #1 thing that matters, if you can create music that you like, the creation of and the finished product, you are a successful musician. 👍

i discovered jungle circa 2002 from a guy that moved houses to my village(in germany). i helped him carry the boxes in, not knowing him at all with some friends. turned out he was a music enthusiast with tons of CDs. he gave me a few of them and there were some jungle samplers from 1994/95. my mind was blown when i listened to the first Track. since then i became a collector of everything 90s Jungle. Now seeing the "jungle renaissance" unfold makes me very happy.

I personally share your relationship to the 90s Jungle thing. I started intensive listening to jungle, especially lots of ambient jungle, in about 95/96 and i think this was the golden era. Your approach to sound like it is always interresting and you finally get it done. I like your tracks and also your way tot talk about it how you actually think and feel about it. As long you have fun with it keep on doing more jungle tracks.

Hey, thanks ! Yeah, i have discovered drum n bass and jungle back in early-mid 90s, i was 11-12 years old and that music just stuck with me for many years to come. It was so different, so out of this world to me back then, I fell in love with it from the very first seconds I accidentally heard it on a radio. By the end of the 90s and early 00 it was changing but was still good until I run in to Squarepusher's Go Plastc, that album just fucked my head completely. It was jungle, but it was superfast, super experimental, and Aphex Twin’s Drukqs completely changed the course for me and for the whole 00 I stopped listening to drum n bass and jungle (and i don't listen to it anymore at all :D ) and went fully experimental with my own music. Only for the past 4 years decided to stick to making classic oldschool jungle again, and it got me further than previous 20+ years :D

It was as if your analytical mind formulated some equations that manifests the overall theme into those two words. haha loved it. im kind of in your same position. ex-junglist dj and producer..had kids. kids are now 16 and 18 year old babylon demolitionists. mission accomplished, so I'm back lol....and enjoying your videos yeah Amigo is the shit. crushing and punishing the little electrons

I am surprised at this my self. I don't even like Reason, but I am so used to it, i am super quick with it and i can do pretty much whatever i want in it. I don't like it because i feel it has some weird "sound", not as pleasant as other DAWs i have tried (albeit uncomfortable for me, like Ableton).. But at the end of the day i get the job done and everything else I don't like about it might be my own illusion. People seem to be liking stuff i do with it so i guess i am just a little delusional about the whole sound :)

Hey cheers !! I am sure the hardware / non hardware thing is mostly just an illusion. I keep questioning myself, do i really need all that stuff ? :) You can have a listen to my non jungle stuff at my bandcamp, but a good chunk of it was jungle inspired, but a lot faster and hyper experimental, along with some mellow jazz stuff and IDM.

Heya, i really appreciate your thoughts on decision making, keeping it simple etc. ... there are a million tech and software tutorials out there, but very little that deal with those "soft skills". I guess because there's money to be made by selling VSTs, and not by telling people that they should concentrate on a few basic tools and trust their own taste 😎 - anyway, thanks!
@IJOSoundVideo
@IJOSoundVideo 2 ай бұрын
Hey, thanks for the comment. Most KZfaq channels, when they get bigger, they are getting sponsorships hence they start selling products, as they are getting paid this way. I am not interested in selling anything, unless it's my own releases or something i am involved in , which doesn't happen often.. I simply love sharing my insights in to my own head when it comes to making music, i want my videos to be inspiring for others to be creative instead of telling them they need this or that to be able to make good stuff... We need nothing at all, if I am honest, to be able to make good stuff. We only need inspiration, that comes from experiences. So instead of buying stuff, - have experiences and use that to boost your creativity. Instead of buying this or that plugin, buy a trip to mountains or whatever :) I do that all the time, I don't buy stuff, i take trips with my family to places i have never been to, that is a lot more exciting :)

Hey Ijo, gorgeous track. Can really hear the source direct & photek inspiration in this one! If you don't mind me asking, do you generally sample your amens from original source and process them yourself, or do you take second-hand amens from oldschool jungle tunes?
@IJOSoundVideo
@IJOSoundVideo 2 ай бұрын
Hey thanks for the comment. I do both ways. It is a lot harder processing the first generation break to get it to sound the way i want, but i used the first generation amen break on my Disrupt 12". The only processing it had was going in to the S1000 and then through the mixing desk preamp and EQ. Mosttly I just find clean breaks in original jungle tunes and sample those I like, there's actually only a handful i have that i keep using over and over again. Running them through AKAI and mixing desk can add another layer of gentle shaping to fit my tune. The amen here in this video was actually lifted from early Photek stuff and before i put it in to AMIGO VST i run it through the s1000 as well.

@IJOSoundVideo 2 ай бұрын
Hey ! I don't send my tracks to DJs unless it's someone I know, and when I send them my tracks, they're always mastered. Either the label masters them when they're putting out a 12" or I do using LANDR. Everything on my Bandcamp is mastered by LANDR unless otherwise stated.
