I'm glad you said it. Too many music producers calling any ole clunky sequence of notes within a key signature a melody. Thanks for clarity.

I dont want to sound like a big head but I have always been able to make nice melody and chords even when I didn't know anything about musuc theory. Nice production quality Chris.

By they you mean Reason Studios, Chris Reed met Ryan Harlin a couple years ago at a Reason public event, they spoke to each other. Ryan said He had seen Chris videos and thought they where good so asked Chris if He would be interested in working with them. That's it.

Another reason why modern music is largely forgettable -- people are 'generating' melodies. No natural sense for a melody or harmony based on a life of listening to music and internalizing what works so that you come up with your own particular style? Maybe this ain't your field.

Maybe! Beautifully said, thanks 🙏🏾

I based all My original melody creation on how a pianist or guitarist would play the notes. I see alot of producers putting Melody and cords down which would require three hands to play and there for to Me it sounds unnatural. All of My melody and chords sound like they are being played by hand and that's the most important thing to Me.
@romulus_10 ай бұрын
@@HOLLASOUNDS yeah, understanding an instrument/voice leading is important. but a lot of these people don't know any theory AND can't even listen to chords and imagine a melody. they're clueless.

@@malikdavis6091 Scream 4 tube setting on My drums instantly beefs them up. Another little trick is to put the old Vocoder device on the drums using the EQ setting, you will instantly hear the drums pop out of the mix.
