Remember that only those 2 survived, and they use both of them to make Solidus, so he is younger but ages even faster than Solid and Liquid (Being the clone of a clone and all that). -Grey Fox was rescued by Naked Snake, not Venom Snake. He then joined Naked Snake in FOX-HOUND, which is what Naked Snake is doing while we play Venom Snake in Diamond Dogs. -Diamond Dogs was never Big Boss idea, it was a PMC founded by Master Miller, who gives Venom Snake the command of said PMC. So basically after Venom and Naked started working together, they made Outer Heaven (Not Haven). -Ocelot is The Boss' son and he was always working on her side, after her death he kept working for her vision under the command of Naked Snake. He had it since The Boss got her hands on it. -Peacewalker happens after Big Boss decides The Patriots are no good, leaving Major Zero, EVA, Sigint, Paramedic and Ocelot behind. He despised the Les Enfants Terribles Projects and hated its creations. -He never made contact with Zero, Zero was no longer part of any inner circle of the military. After Venom woke up from the Coma, he commands Ocelot to aid Venom and he goes back to America being the hero he was in Operation Snake Eater and having all those nukes and Metal Gears destroyed was a great way to show dedication. He entered once again to the military force of his country and started a Spec-Ops group dedicated to eliminate threats such as Outer Heaven and Zanzibar Land (That were his creations) called FOX-HOUND, so he could control how efficient they could be in stopping his plans. That's why he then sent Grey Fox, his best soldier to Outer Heaven only to be captured and added to Outer Heaven's lines, since he was so loyal to Big Boss. And then Sent Solid Snake, the clone/son he never wanted while he was a rookie to be killed by Venom Snake (Spoiler: He failed) - All the rest I really don't know

*Spoiler* Second tape in vol.2 in MGSV:TPP is a sound wave which activates latent instructions or behavior when listened to. He was made to believe himself that he actually WAS Big Boss as he had been "instructed to". There are 5 things left: 1) What kind of "incident" happened in 77' while Strangelove was working on the Patriots's AI? 2) What is that "easter egg" that Strangelove left in the AI's system for Hal? 3) How Kaz used Big Boss's Phantom to send him to hell? 4) What happened to the Zeke? 5) Why Big Boss sent Gray Fox, his most skillful soldier, to outer heaven if the mission had to fail since the beginning? And why send another soldier to fail again?

I believe that Ocelot knew The Boss was his mother at some point. Ocelot is after all one of the smartest characters. While everyone was aiming at there own version of The Boss's will; Ocelot was aiming to achieve that legacy. Which Ocelot does by the end of Metal Gear Solid 4. I truly believe that Ocelot is the greatest spy, as well as the main character of the story seen from another perspective.

Outer "Haven" and Outer Heaven are two completely different places in two completely different eras of the MGS series. Come on, dude.

With any questions regarding where certain characters were during MGS5... the character we played as wasn’t actually Big Boss, it was a duplicate copy of him which his revealed at the end of MGS5.. So for all we know, the actual Big Boss could’ve been doing whatever he was doing during all that time with the likes of Gray Fox, EVA, Zero etc. to put the whole story in motion. Big Boss left FOX at the end of MGS3. Then later in Portable Ops he founds FoxHound with Campbell. He didn't leave and rejoin FoxHound.

Keep an eye on Miller? Simple. Make sure he doesn't die. However before the events of Metal Gear Solid he was murdered by Liquid Snake. Then Liquid assumed his identity and acted as an adviser to Solid Snake until the truth was revealed.

A lot of these questions are answered by the often overlooked final recording of Strangelove "The AI pod's final recording". Strangelove clearly says that she's hidden the BOSS AI deep within the patriots system and set it to activate and seize control of the Patriots entire network. She clearly says the the BOSS AI is programmed to think like the Boss (Joy) and tells it to protect "their son" (Hal). So assuming that the BOSS AI is actually secretly controlling the Patriots AI, then it stands to reason that Snake and Otacon were able to get away with everything because the BOSS AI is protecting Hal. However, if the AI is programmed to think like Joy, then it might also be protecting Solid Snake because he's Jack's son AS WELL as protecting Ocelot because he's her son. This explains how Solid and Ocelot were able to get away with everything they did.

The biggest unanswered question... 7:36 - why does Big Boss shave his armpits but Olga doesn't?

For Ocelot being able to control the Patriot's A.I. he was able to override the system with Big Bosses DNA. The clones basically get one free override, but Big Bosses DNA gave exclusive access and control over the Patriots. I'm vaguely remembering how exactly Ocelot overrides the Patriot's A.I., I saw it explained in another video, but long story short, that's what he did using maybe Liquid's clone DNA, or by chasing "Big Bosses" corpse, which I think was actually solidus. But I want to address the theme of the videos entirety. and if you don't know, there's at least going to be one other game where most of these plot holes are filled. Especially when it comes to EVA and Gray Fox. Big Bosses whereabouts and actions from ground zeroes in 1975, to when he supposedly rejoins Foxhound in 1990ish are still unknown and based on assumptions. For all we know the real Big Boss wasn't even in a coma at all and could of been working on the real Outer Heaven the whole time venom was in a coma for 9 years, which he then leaves Outer Heaven to Venom Snake and the diamond dogs and moves on to Zanzibar with Gray Fox. I'm assuming Zero finds a way to hijack both Outer Heaven and Zanzibar from big boss using his own image. My theory is that the next game will follow the true events of Big Boss after Ground Zeroes and explain the "plot holes" with Gray Fox and EVA. I also have another theory that Jonny "Akiba" is the son of EVA and Big Boss. But the biggest plot point that I think will be explained at the end of the next MGS game is, why did Big Boss supposedly rejoin Foxhound? I have a couple theories. Maybe it simply wasn't the real big boss and it was another double like Venom, which is entirely possible seeing as he has 3 clones, a double, and Major Zero basically owns Big Bosses DNA and his image and reputation in the media. But if it was the real Big Boss that rejoined Foxhound, and I think that is more likely, I think it has a lot to do with his dynamic relationship with Zero, and Zeroes plots will be further revealed in the next game, and I think is the main message of Ground Zeroes. But I think Big Boss may of struck a deal with Zero and rejoined Foxhound so he would be on the inside and could help oversee solid snake who he still cared for and wanted freedom for. Zero and Boss still respect each other and have a compartmentalized relationship that is constantly on and off again. Think about this though, Zero put skullface in charge of cipher, and while cipher was hunting down "Big Boss", Zero simultaneously knew the whereabouts of Venom (Big Boss) at the hospital, the whole 9 years. In fact it was probably Zeroes idea to create Venom. But there's another theory that Ground Zeroes is a simulation to brainwash Venom, but if ground Zeroes is a simulation, that means that Big Boss got 2 doubles from the incident. Venom, and the "real" Big Boss, which could be the second Big Boss that takes over Zanzibar and rejoins foxhound. Solid Snake supposedly kills venom, and then Big Boss, but Big Boss is clearly at the end of MGS4 and kills Zero. So it makes sense that he had 2 doubles that got a will of their own and were controlled by Zero. So I think thing next game will cover the true events of Big Boss from at least 1975-1995, and also hopefully explain up until the events of MGS4 to setup for the future of the series. At the end of MGS4, Big Boss says to solid that he needs to "renew his lease on life". I think they are going to use the nano machines to reverse the aging on Solid Snake, which would setup for the events of AC!D and into the future. But long story short, they are setting up for a decades long plot twist in which Big Boss was never actually a villain, but who's actions and legacy were not his own and controlled by Zero and other doubles. Zero was necessarily a direct enemy of Big Boss, he both helped and hurt him, which is why I think it's possible he rejoins Foxhound, but Zeroes ultimate goal was to control his legacy and image in the media, and have access to his DNA.

At his debriefing he should have been like , "Yeah the leader of Outer Heaven was recruiting people by telling them he was Big Boss , but I noticed that he looked nothing like him because he was missing an arm , was covered in scars and even had a big metallic horn sticking out of one side of his head . So no Big Boss didn't betray us it was just some lousy imposter , so you should just drop all those treason charges " .

I wonder if Konami ever decides to do the only thing with the IP they're capable of without Kojima: Hire a competent studio to do complete remakes of Metal Gear Solid 1-3 (just like the Shadow of the Colossus Remake). It's pretty evident that there were attempts to wrap up the Metal Gear story well before V, and unsurprisingly each one that came after managed to make canon events more and more out of sync.

My question is if anyone remembers at the end of mgs2 when snake and otacon are talking about the members of the Wiseman committee who existed 100 years ago otacon mentioned someone whose name is not mentioned and said that they were a financial contributor ... contributed to what? Philanthropy? And who is this person who contributed financially?

Some of the points are good, I wanted to know what Solidus, Solid and Gray Fox were up to in MGSV. But with “what Eva has been up to between 3 + 4” amongst others should just be left to the imagination. Otherwise it’ll be like the Star Wars EU where every minute detail has a giant back story and it becomes an endless cycle of coming up with explanations.

MGS 2 was a VR mission at the time it was made, just because 4 floored that theory, doesn't mean, at the time, that they could do anything because it wasn't in the 'real' world

Look at the art work. Look at the time line. Kojima left us clues. In MGS5 you are Grey Fox. The prosthetic limb. The hypno therapy and confusion. His damaged eye. Just check out the artwork on how he holds his hand over his face. Remember the end of MGS5 Naked explains to Venom that he is the new big boss. Naked snake the original goes into hiding. Venom AKA GREY FOX takes control and creates Outer heaven. Solid Snake in the MSX version fights venom and destroys outer heaven. Konami if they were smart should have remade the first METAL GEAR to bring us all home and finally close the door. Then In metal gear 2 solid snake fights him again in Zanzibar land which finally destroys his body. It is later explained In metal gear solid That “frank jaeger” grey foxes body was recovered and is now in Ninja his reanimated cyborg ninja form always banging his head and trying to remember. Grey Fox was Big Boss’ 1st Lieutenant. Most trusted soldier in Foxhound, and in Phantom Pain, we play as Venom Snake, not Big Boss. That’s why there was no talk about Foxhound in Phantom Pain either.

For real, guys? Did you even Play MGS2? Arsenal Gear was being piloted by the AI known as GW. Raiden and Snake took down GW and Arsenal Gear crashed as a result. Taking down GW also took down a lot of the Patriots Framework. Not all of it, but the AI that was partially acting on its own and partially acting on behalf of the Patriots was gone. MGS4 while happening quite a few years later finished where MGS2 Left off. And yes, there are huge gaps, like the story of Raiden getting Sunny back and being turned into a cyborg ninja in the process along with Otacon and Snake continuing there work under Philanthropy to stop the Patriots. After all, the beginning mission of MGS2 with Snake aboard the freighter was a Philanthropy mission.

Solidus was mentioned in the 98 metal gear. You have to beat in a certain way.

Number 3 has a simple answer. Money. All it takes is money to use human proxies to delegate their orders and will. It may sound outlandish at first, but just think about it. Telling people to do something requires nothing more than a text or an audio message and a transfer to a bank account. The Patriot AIs had a virtually limitless supply of money at their disposal.

About the EVA one in MGS5 TPP a tape mentions ocelot saying that EVA got Snake into the hospital after Ground Zeroes ending.

Mistake: Big Boss didnt left Fox Hound; he left Fox!. Foxhound was created as a counter for Fox

The answer to all the unanswered questions: a wizard did it. Well, nanomachines, evil clones, accelerated McGuffin... Or some random fanservice that takes you completely out of the game (ie Snake looking up a woman's skirt). I think the best way to deal with it is to treat each game as a separate story and ignore any inconsistencies between the games. Prequels with so much exposition is bound to contradict something else.

To answer the second question - Solidus was in another part of Africa during the eighties training a young Raiden.

Eva was banished from China at the end of mgs3. She spent years in a prison in Hanoi until BB rescued her. Years later she was pregnant with BB’s clones and then went dark after giving birth. I just assumed she built up a power base in Eastern Europe until the Rise of the PMC’s

I believe most, if not all the MGS PW-MGSV Unanswered questions could be answered. #14 According to the Metal Gear lore Solidus was being raised by the states during this time, getting the very best education he could get since he was the only successful clone of the Les Enfants Terribles project. #13 Okay this one is a good question. Gray Fox was there for Zanzibar so he must have known the real BB and met him sometime during/after the events of TPP. I think there's a good chance he may not have even met the Phantom BB. Oh and Portable Ops has a canon meeting with Gray Fox if that counts, but it doesn't need to be canon according to Kojima. #11 While this is an interesting one, I believe Code Talker is talking primarily about the Burger Embezzlement. You unlock the cassete tape involving it right after seeing this cutscene. Still, there is a possibility it could have meant something more due to Chapter 3 never being made. Although I find that answer to be unlikely. I think this was the MGSV's subtle way of telling you "LISTEN TO THE CASSETE TAPES THEY WILL BE USEFUL DURING THIS TIME." #10 The Data Cassette Tapes are encryptions for the game Portopia - A game that inspired Hideo Kojima to want to make video games. In order to have Big Boss under his control - even if nobody knew about it. The game clearly stated that Big Boss pretty much has to take up the Medic's identity while setting up Outer Heaven. It would make sense to have a fake BB so the real BB can set up Outer Heaven with nobody suspecting his identity. I mean, if you think about it Ocelot only helped him because it was Zero's order. Ocelot was always a part of Cipher/FOX. So that leads me to believe that Big Boss is fully aware that Zero is pretty much using him at this point, since he essentially lost his identity to a medic. Plus BB just played along during the events of the Prologue/Mission 46... he didn't fight Zero's plan at all. It's safe to assume then that BB was in a way unwillingly forced to rejoin FOX, which eventually led to the creation of FOXHOUND. Sooo yeah, that's my two cents. I feel like most of the "unanswered questions" on this video could be answered by digging into the series' extensive lore. There are still a few loose ends but nothing too out of the ordinary for MGS.

I think they allowed ocelot to stay in play because he was a proxy of the patriots even after they became an AI system and he never really failed in his missions, he recovered the metal gear data at the end of the first game. He recovered the philosophers legacy even successfully convinced venom snake that he was the real big boss. He’s the ultimate triple quadruple agent, even had to hypnotize himself to act against his own interests so that he could play this elaborate 4D game of chess and end up The man on top. Even though he lost the fight against old snake still completed his mission and his objective in the very end ocelot won

For your second question. I pose another question then answer: where were ALOT of missing characters?! This is answered simply because Konami rushed kojima and didn't want to pay him v his increase due to the success of mgs 4 propelling him into making mgsv. As I'm sure you know with each success his pay increases but Konami didn't want to pay him accordingly which is in part to what led to the disaster that is mgsv. Kojima planned to have mgsv bridge the gap between metal gear 1 and mgs3 using all the lore that had been built up thorough out the series.

The thing about Kaz that codetalker was talkin about is that Miller will be indirectely responsable from Venom´s death because he will train Solid in the future.

If you played portable OPS. You would know the Hunter NULL is Frank Yeager. Big Boss beat him after the Patriots brainwashed him which helped him realize who he was. He didn't join BB again until MG 1. It wasn't clear where he was after Portable Ops but it's safe to assume he either went home or stayed a soldier.

I know I’m a year late but I’m pretty sure if the truth tapes that Zero goes to visit Snake after the helicopter crash in the GZ Incident, the entire Phantom Pain/Body Double trick was Zero’s idea. He told Big Boss/John/Jack to come back soon, so Zero needed his old friend’s help to take care of Skullface and XOF.

Regarding Solidus being the President and no one noticing. Solid Snake didn't know much about cloning until Liquid filled him in that he was a clone by the end of MGS1 and Solidus was already in office by that time acting as President. He also wasn't made aware of Solidus until MGS2; after the Tanker incident and just before the Big Shell incident, by this time, Solidus had already finished his term and James Johnson (the 44th "puppet" President you had to save) was acting President. Also Solidus aka George Sears had a clean shaven face during his term and didn't have a full beard, people look completely different when they fully shave vs keeping a beard. Snake only saw Big Boss' face in his 60s, he has no other earlier references to go by. What about a mirror you say? Solid Snake is not an exact clone of Big Boss since he only possess his recessive genes and not both the recessive and dominant genes to retain his 1:1 resemblance. All the clones had accelerated aging so by the time MGS2 came about he had white hair and grew out his beard to look more like his father, also donning the eye patch. Solidus was kept a secret by The Patriots so if you're non the wiser, you won't go looking for trouble hence why Otacon and Snake didn't think twice to see the enemy at their doorstep until MGS2 when the Big Shell incident happened and where Ocelot "leaked" the information to Philanthropy to get Solid Snake's involvement in the S3 plan. MGS2 was a chess game and all the major pieces were revealed and exposed under one roof.

The TRUE question for the series: What in the world were they high on when they got the idea?

Its said like a zillion times, as well, that Cipher and Zero maintained a lot of control and after a while Zero wanted Big Boss back, so it makes sense he had leeway back, in order to make Zero's plans pointless and prevent his idea of complete control- he used his own infamy to orchestrate a way to unite the world: he made himself the target. Venom wasn't just a decoy, the back of the tape at the end of MGSV states the mission code that sets up his instructions for MG. Venom was meant to be a contingency in case Big Boss could not fulfill his plans of uniting the world through war against a single outlying nationless target - rather then Zeros idea of complete control. The rogue element in all of this was Solid Snake, who represented the want to end all the fighting that sprung from the events of MGS3. He had all the luck, charisma, and abilities of Big Boss, but his ideals were different, and because of that he used his father's almost supernatural influence and impact to form the world as he saw fit - no more war.

For Solidus, I imagine he'd be under lock and key in the United States, being educated for his eventual role as president. For the parts of Diamond Dogs, I suspect some of them became one of the earliest merc units in the War Economy of MGS4, and/or Ocelot's private army, Eva's resistance forces, etc. As for how the AIs gave orders... obvious, fictional people like Campbell. As for the nanomachines, we know that people like Zero started that.

This is more like "15 unanswered questions in the entire metal gear series that idiots never took their time to play the game and listen in and collect everything like they should of to better understand the game." Best titile ever.

The timeline in mgs is more confusing than the fnaf timeline

Hmm. The easiest answer to a lot of these is that Kojima works with a five-act structure, and there were three-and-a-half acts of MGSV missing, plus a proper epilogue. My best guess is something like this: - Chapter two builds up to Venom Snake (visually distinct from Big Boss, remember) going rogue over Kaz, yet again, betraying him. What he doesn't know is that Kaz and Ocelot have been betraying him to Big Boss the entire time. Venom Snake, with the resources you've collected, turns Mother Base into the new biggest threat around. The Boss AI reveals her past, which unlocks sequences set during D-Day, which also cast doubt on Ocelot (we know Kojima was researching stuff in Normandy) as he is clearly revealed as a child raised by The Philosophers, whose nature is ultimately duplicitous. Ocelot and Kaz flee, and Venom finds actual clones of Paz (who is later revealed as a clone of The Boss, because, c'mon, that is where that always seemed to be going - Big Boss's obsession with her, her being trusted by Zero, her young age, Les Enfants Terrible, despite Zero being obsessed with The Boss, not Big Boss). After shooting Liquid, Venom becomes more and more ruthless, becoming a monster with a nuclear arsenal. - Chapter three then abandons building Diamond Dogs to put you back in the role of a lone soldier fighting against insurmountable odds. This time, you play as Big Boss (again, we had conformation we'd get his bike, so the idea we'd get to play as Big Boss again isn't so mad). Instead of the tapes, we'd get cut-scenes, as Big Boss ignores Skullface and goes after Cipher, probably helped out by his closest confidants: Ocelot, EVA, and Sergei Gurlukovich. Again, Russian levels were mentioned in sales information, and it would make sense, with their presence in Afghanistan, and the Cold War setting, for the Russia Big Boss, Gurlukovich, to put in an appearance and set-up his inevitable role in MGS and MGS2, and Sunny's role in MGS4. He investigates what really happened during MGS3, which sets up Skullface's true identity and role in those events, allowing him to help Ocelot, Kaz and Diamond Dogs, but his ultimate mission is Zero. However, when he finds Zero, he's gone, a victim of Skullface's plot. Instead, Big Boss learns the truth - Dr. Strangelove faked her death, and has been working with Para-Medic and Sigint to help ensure Zero's version of The Boss's legacy: The Patriots AI and the nano-technology. Recognising the threat, Big Boss agrees to again take-over Foxhound. - Chapter four sees his first mission being one of loyalty. Chico (again, he was designed) has resurfaced trying to finish what Skullface started, having been brainwashed by him. He heads to the Zaire border region and Afghanistan, once again, now with the support of Foxhound. It is here he recruits Ocelot, Kaz, Grey Fox and Naomi, and learns that Venom Snake has gone rogue. With the help of Gurlukovich, and despite Chico calling his sister for support, Big Boss brings Chico down, having to kill him to stop him, and cementing his hatred of The Patriots and their plans. However, before he can stop Cipher, he needs to bring down Diamond Dogs, who have become a rogue nuclear state all of their own, under the control of his own bloodthirsty clone, Venom. He also meets Liquid here, and delivers his withering critique of Liquid which haunts him through to MGS. - Chapter five is the final push. As Big Boss orchestrates the power-play that sees Cipher and the Skulls destroyed, he also prepares to finally defeat Venom Snake. Eventually, you arrive at Mother Base and have to bring down everything you created earlier in the game - destroying The Boss AI, defeating a Metal Gear, having a final showdown with Volgin, before a final legendary fist-fight against your own doppelganger. There are betrayals, threats, u-turns, but it eventually ends with Big Boss having established both Outer Heaven, with Gurlukovich's help, in Afghanistan, and Zanzibar Land in Zaire. - Epilogue: pure speculation here, but something like Big Boss fighting a young Solid Snake at Foxhound HQ, bringing in Grey Fox and Colonel Campbell to help run things, would actually work well, as would a final confrontation with Ocelot, who turns his back on Big Boss - explaining why him and Kaz are not around for the events of MGS, or him inspection Outer Heaven when the events of MGS kick off and he has to defeat Grey Fox, his former ally. No idea what might happen here, other than that it would be set-up for Metal Gear - which would have been the next game, a full remake with an enlarged map, more than likely, or DLC.

The biggest plothole and unanswered question is what happened to Iroquois Pliskin after using Raiden to gain access to Arsenal Gear. He just disappeared into thin air and was replaced by Solid Snake. Fourth clone?

***SPOILERS*** Portable Ops cannot be canon because Sokolov undoubtedly dies in MGS3, but he's alive in Portable Ops. Gray Fox and Solid Snake get trained by Big Boss after he rejoins Foxhound following the events of MGS5.

Kazuhira means Peace (japanese) Paz also means Peace (spanish?) He may be warning Venom about his mental state regarding the traumas he developed because of Paz's death in GZ, and all the stuff that happens in her sidestory

What if Solidus Snake never really existed? (Warning: Long comment/theory.) Picture this: Big Boss wants to take down the Patriots, so he pretends to start two uprisings as "Outer Heaven" with him and his doppelganger Venom Snake faking their deaths while pretending to go rogue. The Patriots see this and think Big Boss has carried out his plans. Then Big Boss takes on the personality of his "perfect clone", George Sears. (Sears never really existed, but Big Boss was able to convince the Patriot AIs of this after Skull Face's death. He got into their good graces, but the AIs could tell he would strike against them, hence the phony attempts at Outer Heaven.) Big Boss becomes the president of the US. All the while Venom and the Diamond Dogs build up their fake "Outer Heaven". Big Boss is helped by Ocelot to manipulate the Patriots from within, turning their world of control into one of war -- the war economy, the true Outer Heaven. In Metal Gear Solid 2, Big Boss targets Venom Snake for destruction. As MGSV's nuclear disarmament cutscene shows, Venom fights for peace whereas Big Boss fights for war. Big Boss has Venom fight against the Patriots under the guise of George Sears/Solidus Snake. Venom thinks he's being sent to remove the AI control over the world so Big Boss can take over, but realizes the truth once Ocelot betrays him. Raiden, being shaped into Solid Snake, is sent to kill the man who was shaped into Big Boss. Player stand-in versus player stand-in. After Venom/Solidus is dead, Big Boss runs the war economy with the Patriot AIs. However, once Outer Heaven actually exists, he realizes his world is no better than the one that took the Boss's life. He eventually decides to end things once and for all, having Ocelot (who got rid of Liquid Snake's influence after MGS2, by the way; that is actually canon) pretend to be Liquid once more as part of an elaborate plan to take down the Patriot AIs. They're too powerful for him to simply "turn off" -- he can manipulate them, but only in the same way you'd manipulate another person. With the help of Naomi and her virus, Big Boss sees the Patriots destroyed and goes to make amends with Solid Snake, the Boss, and himself in the post-credit scene of MGS4. So that's my headcanon. I think it adds a lot of depth to the MSX games, MGS2 and MGS4, not that those games lacked depth in the first place. Suddenly Venom Snake being told of "Operation Intrude M313", the MSX plots for "Outer Heaven" (they don't really create a new status quo for the world, but an enemy for it to defeat), and Solidus training Raiden in Liberia as a child soldier make more sense. (Though Venom was against using child soldiers, so this was probably a command by Big Boss he couldn't refuse. Following orders he doesn't agree with, like fighting for war instead of peace, can be part of why in 1995, he sees himself as demon Snake in the mirror.) And suddenly Solidus's actions, dialogue and ideology, as well as Big Boss's in the MSX games, are put into a whole new light. I don't actually believe this is true, but it's interesting to think about. Also if you read all that, thank you. I now know how MGS4 turned out as long as it did.
