Volgin knew that venom wasn't the real big boss because in mgs3 he watched naked snake get his right eye shot out in the torture room, but when he was about to kill venom he had that weird vision of venom in the hospital, revealing his right eye to be blind and whited out, no bullet hole.

There certainly is a lot of interpretation in there. Many say that Big Boss betrayed Venom and either left him for dead in MG1 or he sent Solid Snake to kill him. But its not confirmed. Another possibility is that they worked together till the end, with Venom stepping in when Solid Snake got too far. The actual relationship between Venom and Big Boss is never fully shown, and there's not enough evidence to say one or another. It is in some ways quite frustrating

MGSV was my first metal gear, and i loved every second of it a good friend of mine, at the time, was a huge mgs fan and would answer any questions i had about it (obviously, there were a lot) i really liked using tapes to tell the story, i could collect a bunch and then i'd just listen to them while i paused for a dinner break. it was a good time.

thank you for the great video guys. cant wait for part 5! metal gear is one of my all time favorites and yet sometimes i get confused with the story. with all the gaming channels on youtube, i really respect gamingbolt for for the quality and amount of research and effort done in their production of their videos. i guess i just wanna show appreciation by saying thank you all the way from Palestine :).

This series so far is without doubt the best recap of the Metal Gear saga. For once, I'm actually following it haha.

In my head canon, Venom survived the destruction of Outer Heaven. Yes, he was defeated by Solid Snake, and severely injured. Trapped under the rubble of Outer Heaven's explosion, he lay there bleeding out and too weak to move. Then the rubble shifted and was lifted away, revealing Quiet, who had watched over him for 11 years from afar. Since his role as Big Boss was completed, there was no need for him to continue playing the part. The mission was over. Quiet made her presence known once the real Big Boss was forced onto the world stage. She patched Venom up, and the two walked off into the sunset together, their ultimate fate unknown. Wishful thinking? Eh, perhaps. But then at the end of MGSV, it just says that Solid Snake kills Big Boss' PHANTOM. This could be interpreted a couple ways: 1. Solid Snake literally kills Venom Snake. The end. or 2. Solid Snake defeats Venom Snake and destroys Outer Heaven, thus forcing the real Big Boss onto the world stage. The "phantom" is no longer necessary, and so the ruse is destroyed. Venom Snake could then conceivably have survived the events of N313 with that interpretation, and free to live whatever life he chose. I prefer the latter, in all honesty. Venom suffered enough bullshit for Big Boss. Dude deserves a happy ending, of sorts.

Either way, Venom Snake was actually better than Big Boss. There are more than enough facts to prove that so regardless of him being used, he was better than big boss.

I think this game best shows how the war economy is presented. You the player are making diamond dogs a mercenary buissness with everything you do to build up your base. That's what MGS4 really shined a light on and big boss influenced that. Which again is why he's a villan

fun fact venom was not supposed to die in metal gear 1 instead solid was sent there to be killed by venom, N313 tape explains the plan to venom and during the metal gear 1 Saga Big boss even helped venom by providing information and also told solid snake to abandon the mission.

I really doubt that Venom punches the mirror out rage or anger. The Diamond Dogs logo changes to Outer Heaven after the punch, which symbolizes the timelapse (and probably a physical rejection to his inner demon which was Venom's trait). Also, the tape recorder is hooked to a MSX console, which kinda implies that Solid Snake is recieving his mission briefing from Venom, after all Mision Intrude N313 was supposed to be a failure.

Now I understand it better thanks to this explanation and interpretation

Venom Snake was pretty cool.Although he was a doppelganger to Big Boss,he was still a bit different than Big Boss himself.If it was Big Boss himself that we were playing,we would see him become much darker.He would have killed Quiet,killed Huey.Big Boss became something he didn't want to be,a warmonger.At this point,Big Boss was an entirely different person.Venom,on the other hand,is more merciful.He saves kids and doesn't want them to live their life on the battlefield whereas Big Boss would.Venom strives to be a better person,trying to make a home for his comrades,trying to do some good in the world.Both Big Boss and Venom were like Ying and Yang.Venom being the white Ying awhile Big Boss the black Yang.In the end,Venom is loyal to Big Boss.The man who shared the same title as him.The two of them obviously has massive amount of respect for one another.Venom went down like a soldier,carrying out his mission.In my opinion,Venom,Solid and Ocelot were among the best.

It would be great if Quiet came back in a remade version of MG1 and fought for Venom Snake. Solid Snake vs Quiet, Sniper Battle. Fight!

For anybody wondering about the video stating,"quiet died as stated by the official guide", the guide's last sentence ends with,"she went into the desert to die alone", which *badumtas* does not exactly mean she died. Like if I say, I'm going to get some coffee then too no one can say for sure if I'll return with a cup of coffee or not. Meaning, I left thinking I'll get coffee but there's a possibility that due to some reason I changed my mind or was not able to get it. The same logic can be applied here if a person with a working brain thinks properly. She left thinking she'll eventually die(true meaning of went into the desert to die alone") because of the parasite so she distanced herself from other so that no one is harmed because of her but there's a possibility that she was able to control her parasite after they become active when she spoke english to save venom and returned, as suggested by a patch added later that lets you take her into battles again as a buddy after playing mission "(replay)cloaked in silence" 7 times without killing her in it. After that the "(replay)" should change into ''(reunion)" and quiet should come back to venom. Hope people who were miss quiet finds this helpful.

This cutscene with Huye is representing all of the pain you going through when realising there is a "part 2" of the game and you already been playing for like 100000+ hours and you spended your whole 2 week without eating and sleeping normally on it. You just cant take it anymore, wear your battle armor and just going in guns blazing, trying to free yourself from this game.

Why did The Man on Fire lose his vengeance? Did he assume the real Big Boss was dead? Because simply knowing Big Boss has doppelgänger doesn’t autonomy mean BB is dead

There is this SFM called “Last day in Outer Heaven” by CitizenFive that shows the last communication between Venom and Big Boss after the Solid Snake defeats Venom. It’s really well done (the voice impressionists nail Kiefer Sutherland and Richard Doyle for their roles) It links MG and MG2 and gives Venom the farewell he deserves.

Personally I saw the way venom did things with eli differently, during the game and. .heck throughout each game we see him in, eli hates his "cursed" life, believing he has no decision on his fate, Venom knows this all too well after finding out he's been forced into being big boss, and so he told eli to place all his hatred on him, instead of blaming himself, he then placed the gun on the ground to allow him to take it, in other words, he gave him the power to decide his own fate As for the demon part, I don't think he was purposely smiling xD sometimes they screw up with the faces, but heck I didn't even notice, I always saw it as him being filled with sorrow in "losing" eli, heck venom probably cared more about his clones then big boss ever did

I remember playing this game in the MSX back in the day, just sneak in the base and take out the bad guy. They put so many weird things in this franchise throughout the years, including this vocal cord parasite that i wonder why people say that Metal Gear Survive has notinhg to do with the metal gear franchise.

BEST GAME EVER CREATED.My fave MGS,best stealth gameplay of all time,and a story that is less of a movie but way better than in any other MGS.Many people hate it because they wanted more of the same from previous title,for me its a MASTERPIECE.I have 400 + hours play time in single player and 300 hours in Multi.Im still returning to the game from time to time.

I wish there could have been another game aka the Nintendo games remake to be the final/ beginning of solid snakes rise; my God to play as young solid snake fighting venom and big boss; meeting gray fox and so on I wanted this game so much and sadly it'll never happen or it will without kojima and i shutter to think if it could possibly be a true metal gear game.

I think you got it wrong at 19:45, it's not a death message. If you remember (if you played MG1) Solid was fed with false information in an attempt of Big Boss to get rid of him, the tape even shows that Big Boss briefed Venom for the intruder in order to get rid of him. What both didn't expect was how capable was Solid as a soldier ending up completing his mission successfully. Big Boss trusted Venom to the very end, the only clear difference between the two his that Venom still has a heart, and that's because he's Big Boss without the "Big Boss" trauma, he never pulled that trigger and never died inside that day.

As a metal gear fan I would say that Konami shouldn't have abuse the workers into expecting holiday expectations

Close, but no... Big Boss forms FOX-HOUND before he forms MSF. He just leaves it right away to form MSF and the events from Peacewalker happens. During Diamond Dogs, Big Boss is already forming Outer Heaven which then "mixes" with Diamond Dogs, leaving Venom Snake in charge while he returns to command FOX-HOUND and sends his son to die in the hands of Venom Snake, but Venom Snake fails and Big Boss must leave once again FOX-HOUND since he's "dead" and goes to Zanzibar Land, where he is killed by Solid Snake... And we all know the rest. Still, pretty good video

4:38 - ... aaand all of a sudden MGS turns into Resident Evil, lol

I replayed Ground Zeroes like 30 times just to rewatch the helicopter scene to see if there was any important things that might lead up to the plot of The Phantom Pain. Then I realized that it was a lost cause because I was probably overthinking it. Then I beat the game, and realized that I was right all along.

I have made a MGSVENOM The Phantom Edit movie, i made the paz scene cause the blood on venoms face to show that was the day his mind wakes up. Venom would have never known he wasnt BB if he hadn't remembered. Just anouther day in a war without end, outer heaven . Paz is the connection to venoms memory and BB did to venom what zero did to him. Who is venom ? Turns out hes you, with this reveal connection to paz, the random day venom remembers makes more sense than just replaying 1st scene with the end tacked on, the two should be connected .

The plot twist at the end was figured out before the game even came out. Which just goes to show, Kojima wasn't all in on this. He knew his time with Konami was coming to an end.

It is kinda weird that they torture quiet. Its like you would think that the reason she didn't talk the entire, Entire time, she was quiet is because of the virus.
