Brilliant designs. Cutting edge technology that allows an a new level of independence that brings the owner closer to nature and further from the total dependence of the city. We've progressed if we can imagine new alternatives that make more sense and provide a better quality of life. No one is gonna encourage this move away from consumerism. But you can totally do it if you put your mind to it. There's literally no limit to what you can do. Such a breath of fresh air. They all felt welcoming and comfortable. Thank you for sharing them with us.

Some beautiful homes. Hopefully affordability will not be in the too distant future. I actually dont say that for me. But I do feel a few innercity projects that bring local and national attention while creating affordable living in low incomed areas would go huge distances in opening the door for massive future growth.

Very good selection of diverse styles. As most are one off designs they will be expensive. The Passiv Pod zero carbon design number 7 has strong timber ply for offsite modular replication in quantity. Their home garden office at £33K is less than a brick extension and students learn more in biophilic classrooms. Great choices all round.

I have found the Houses and structures made from Hemp-crete have been by far the most appealing to one who hates square walls and sharp corners. The Earthships , and some of them are very "Updated" modernistic interiors and Zero costs . Once built , they serve the occupants very well, winter and summer. The most stylish one is in Ontario , while the more rugged one is in Alberta. There are also some here in BC.

Good afternoon, we are building a house in the Philippines starting in July, we have well water, will have solar, the house will be 95% from the land. Bamboo and wood, 6 bedrooms, 3 floors 400 sq mtr each floor. We had to have a concrete base for planning to be approved. have a moat for fish, grow our own vegetables etc. All bedding etc will be bamboo, sinks from wood, no plastic anywhere.

Face it - spending the money on a home ( interest and payment ) may as well be art and function . If it serves you also ( like lowest utility bills as well as the environment ) it should pay for itself... eventually. I like that idea. I’ve lived in an Rv (344 sq. Ft) and living inside as well as outside your home is the adventure. Your going to live in it a long time: low impact on the environment and enjoyment are the way to go 😎 (with views and insulation). I like the use of area under some of these here. Since garages or shade areas for outdoor use is nice to have on a small footprint.

A lot of great looking designs but very few are cost effective (when the price was quoted) or made for cold climate regions. The "cardboard" house was promising but cardboard eventually dries up if not specially treated and becomes a potential fire trap (waterproof corrugated cardboard perhaps?)

5 from the Netherlands and Germany? We call -10 to -20 in winter cold... And yet, the houses stay at an average of +21 C. Cardboard, MDF, plywood? Same, same. Mud is cost-effective if you can get enough hands at low-cost.

What I see here with a number of these projects are architects; who are not engineers, designing projects that can be dubious at best, in not only being up to building code standards; but designed in such a way as to minimize maintenance labor along w/ longevity; in regards to the design/ construction material/ environmental coefficients....In other words the concepts are nice; until you have to deal with the possible negative aspects related to some of these structures...I think my favorite here is the French made pre-fab modular w/ roof & structural walls built out of cardboard corrugated materials to provide structural form and rigidity, then sealed from the detrimental effects of the environment with a synthetic glue, with a thin plywood veneer on the interior and then the exterior built out of what appear to be 2.5" x 1/4" finished wood slats...so after a few years, you get seam expansion in the wood slats from humidity/ rain water, whatever, it leaks into the corrugated card board and well...If you're not a complete idiot; I would assume you could figure out the mess on your hands as a homeowner... Can ya dig it?

Sustainable except for price is why these designs won't be built in the numbers that might make a difference to the environment any time soon. Being green shouldn't mean being unaffordable and it's why those that want to have as little impact as possible often build there own since there's no real alternative. The home's heating/cooling/electrical needs CO2 footprint is massive and there's no market for a zero impact housing if the systems that make it that way cost as much or more than it's fossil fueled/non green counterparts.

WOW...!!! Some of these abodes are no less than impressive , i'm not greedy , i would like one of each thankyou. lol's. Watching this channel just makes me want every bloody thing they show. When " REACHER " says which one would you pick , leave your choice in the description below i think all jokes aside from my first paragraph , there are a couple i would choose but i have to say it wouldn't be as easy as just saying i'll have that one , & that one , but think of the pro's & con's of each choice. They say one of the biggest stresses , among others is buying a house. I concur. Some of the homes shown though were absolutely outstandingly gorgeous whether it be on the water , or be it on land. I'm quite sure there're are some of you out there in cyber-space that totally agree with that statement. Well i've said a little of what i wanted to say about this subject so i'm going back to watch more of this channel so i can continue to dream. lol's..... ✅❤️🇦🇺👍

I wish you can tell us how much each of the houses are, I know you do with some of them, but I am interested in a ball park figure. It's too bad that they can't do eco friendly homes for one person, it might help with the homeless situation.
@fermitupoupon1754

The thing with the vast majority of these houses is, they do not accomodate the kind of power use a normal household sees these days. Sure it can charge your laptop and phone and it'll support a wifi router and a A++++ label fridge, but most of these houses cannot and will not support a household where there is something like a 72" TV that needs powering or where a gaming PC needs powering most of the evenings. Want or need a workshop to do things for your off-grid homestead eco house thing? Yeah, that 1kW solar panel array isn't going to power the table saw. It won't even power the shopvac. Same with the induction hob in one of the houses shown. Sure the roof is a solarpanel, but that isn't working when I want a cuppa at 05:45 in december when I need to go to work.
