Science tells us that we evolved from monkeys, giving us better bodies and stupider brains. And, in case you think I'm being extra harsh on humans, just look at the news. Anyway, to celebrate our genius ancestors, let's look at some of the smartest monkeys to ever walk our planet. From a food-loving monkey to a genius negotiator, here are 15 Genius Monkeys Caught on Camera!

When I was 2 I lived in Panama for a while. A wild capuchin monkey came to my window & we became friends. He mimicked me as we would play for hours, him even allowing me to dress him in doll clothes & let me push him around. Shared my lunch too, tea parties , etc.. Animals are smarter than you may think .

The was a little Macaque named Hua Hua a few years ago that was definitely a genius. She must have been only a few months old and had already mastered bipedal walking and many other tasks. Her “mom” wanted her to put her hand on her head and hold it there. The baby got frustrated , ran to her cage and threw herself on her swing. She then got up, went to the cage door and slammed it shut. Like a petulant teenager shutting mom Out! Absolutely Astonishing.

In the internet age, I am really surprised that the narrator would have a problem differentiating the difference between a monkey and an ape. The guy obviously didn't do any research or consult with an expert. Besides, he sounded like one day, some monkeys will turn into humans.

The “orangutang boxing” video might be a video of an illegal circus/carnival. I believe this because i have watched Orangutan Jungle School (a documentary on a school for orangutans) one of the rescues was from a similar experience, a boxing orangutan, it showed a similar clip while saying that these acts are illegal everywhere.

5:20 This is actually abuse of BOTH animals. Hate to be a killjoy, but it's just not right to have ANY primate as a pet, or raising them like children, even if treated and fed well, it's still considered psychological/mental/emotional abuse. If raised by humans, they never learn how to interact with others of their kind, which is usually how they end up. They make cute pets, nice to show off, as babies. They are easily trained and obey their owners, mostly due to fear of some type of abuse. They act out when they reach the age of a juvenile (or teenager to us). They begin to get aggressive and continually less cooperate as they eventually begin lashing out at owners. Then they are dumped, sold on the black market or to laboratories, and/or straight up thrown out into the wild with NO survival skills, or primate social/communication skills. It's sad, so very tragic and sad. 17:00 Don't even get me started on the PigTail Macaques sadistic farmers terrify and traumatize in order to train them to pick coconuts. Its horrible, and it's right here on KZfaq if you search for it. It shouldn't be.

It’s so sad to see monkeys with a collar and leash on.That alone tells me that the owners are obviously training them to make money by way of entertainment for humans, however I see no fun in watching any animal that is NOT in its natural habitat and it should be banded all around the world, unless the monkey is completely unable to live in nature due to a birth defect or parent has died and they still need help until a certain age.

Why keep referring to monkeys when some are chimpanzees and others orang-utans namely apes. Neither o f which are monkeys. Such a shame to see the abuse some endure. They were probably taken from the wild after their mothers were killed.

I saw a Maruchan monkey like the first one in this video, complete with the diapers and curious eyes. He was a movie monkey and very cute. He would draw, make noises communicating what he wanted (Food, water, toys). He had creepily human like eyes and was very curious. Getting into everything. He would even argue with his handler, he'd say "food" and she'd say "no! You just ate." Then fall down pretending to cry. Then she give him food and then he'd sit down and eat it while giving her a cocky smirk like he just won. He'd even show her the food like "haha! I wasn't even hungry" he was a little dick! But adorable

That one capuchin monkey (think that's what they're called) at 7:47 looks like he has a tumor growing on his neck. Those poor animals locked in them small ass cages sickens me, they have nothing to do and no way out. Imagine spending a lifetime locked in a cage like that how hopeless it would be. They also seemed to be alone in them cages.

When you see content like this that you really hate (and i agree with you here), refrain from posting a comment or engaging with the video at all. Even if it's to say something negative about it. The algorithm still gives their videos a boost in exposure. It's ridiculous.
