Who are Kara and Nate?!
Watch our documentary here: • 100th COUNTRY DOCUMENTARY
Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married 2013 and were super “normal.” I was a teacher and Nate started a small printing business from the spare bedroom of our apartment.
We discovered the world of “travel hacking” while planning our honeymoon & became addicted ;)
So after 2 years of obsessively saving $35k and over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016 for a “one year” trip around the world.
Our goal was to see as many places as possible before we ran out of money and went back home to “normal life.” We started this channel to share our experiences with friends and family, but quickly fell in love with living on the road and found a new passion for capturing our travels through video. So we did everything we could to keep going.
4 years later, we achieved our new goal of visiting 100 countries and all 7 continents. We had no plans to slow down, until 2020 forced us to ;) Which is when we bought a converted van to start exploring our own country for the first time!
After ~2 years of van life, we are back to full time international traveling! And now we are in our 9TH YEAR of finding the best adventures the world has to offer :)
We are incredibly grateful to be able to continue doing something we love every day. 😊🎥🌎 Thank you to everyone who has been a part of our journey!

Just something that I think should be noted. If you read the commentary from last week’s running with Russ Cook video, you’ll notice that the Russ fans new to Kara and Nate all focused on two things. 1. How unbelievably supportive Kara is of Nate. 2. How Kara and Nate selflessly focused their show on Russ and not themselves. I wouldn’t expect anything less from these awesome two!!❤

We found you all very early in your journey and we love those old, "unpolished" videos. Kara's sincerity has been huge with our family. Nate's adventure is inspirational. Where Nate defines so much of what you two do, Kara's personality was the key to how you did the travel for all your episodes. Her enthusiasm for the people and the culture, especially the food, has been a hallmark of your videos. It has been fun to see how Nate has opened up more over the last eight years. My husband and I have been very blessed to travel using points. What most people don’t understand is how much work my husband had to do to earn all the points. These points were not just handed to him and we think of them as cash. He spends countless hours planning our vacations, sometimes a year in advance to get the plane and/or flight we want. He was so motivated by this video that he’s on his computer right now.

@@eljj7968 because that is an obvious first thought or connection for so many people when someone mentiones getting on the plane. As you know there are so many nervous flyers out there and many of them do what they can to avoid flying at all. However many also need to fly a lot for work or what not like this person here and everytime they are feeling very bad. So the question is how do they manage it, have they found any ways. Go back and watch everyone's first year vlogs, and the same trend will be presented. Camera shy, not sure what to say, someone isn't really into it, you get the point! To the neigh sayers out there, I say one thing: 3.8 million followers!! Not Trust Fund Babies!! Hard work, dedication, and knowing what the audience likes to see. Does someone else miss the old content videos?? I binge on the OG channel all the time. So much more rich and interesting to wastch. Lately, videos just look like a commercial...

I don't disagree, but year 2 was basically a giant commercial because they did whatever they could get comped since they were mostly out of money

No I'm just happy to see them doing their thing. I watch mostly for their personalities as humans than where they go and what they do. They've really earned their success, and I'm glad to see them enjoy the fruits of their labor. I've been watching since about 40K subscribers so I've been here for all of it.

Awesome video as always Kara and Nate. When Nate was talking about the early days of y’all’s journey I immediately when back to when y’all were in Hong Kong and y’all were in front of the big ferris wheel and Kara said are we going to ride it and Nate no it’s to expensive we’re just stand here and look at it.

Qsuites are amazing. Wife and I were fortunate to use our points for AKL to LHR via DOH last December (80K Avios each). Attendants could not do more, great experience. I've now booked LAX to DEL via DOH in the New Year. Love you videos.

Just found your channel. What a lovely couple. It's rare on a travel channel I like both ppl. You're fantastic. I have one more surgery left for breast cancer and I am going to survive no worries ...by myself by the way. Yay me. I spent my life terrified of planes but after cancer nothing scares me. Your videos are super inspirational!!! And I thank you. Three million subscribers!! I have 22. I'm just starting and much older. I'm so happy for you both. Two great people living their dream. I'm jealous in a good way!!! Keep inspiring those of us with impossible obstacles who want to do what you do!!! Thank you so much for doing that for me!!

7 months ago I had surgery. The thing that I watched while recovering I watched all the Kara and Nate videos that I have missed, which was a lot. I had started watching from the beginning pre surgery so I didn't need to watch all of them. I still got to watch a lot of previous videos but I still feel that I have a video or two that I haven't seen.

I know you're not trust fund babies because I've watched all your stuff. I may have discovered you in 2020, but I went back to watch them all. That said, I don't want to offend you, but ... I actually enjoyed those videos more. It seems now that all the videos are extreme physical challenges or high-priced trips/stays. Personally, I think y'all were happier back then trying to squeeze all the fun out of your limited funds.

You needed permission to film so they ensure your flight is artificially above average and Qatar airways is notorious for that, I doubt you would've gotten this level of treatment had you not taken permission. On another note I can't believe how much I've missed these "travel day" videos they're basically the reason I've watched you guys all these years, I hope there's more to come :)

I agree. Especially when half of the video is just a tour of a train cabin or a first class seat on an airplane. Same feelings about the Earthroamer/Tesla/whatever videos that are mainly just a commercial/tour of the vehicle. I’m an OG fan but today I fast forwarded through most of the video for the first time ever. Lost interest in “what button does what” and the contents of the latest toiletry bag.
