Thanks Phill! Glad you found it helpful! Great question! Basically, the more you zoom out, the more distorted the photo or video will be. If the middle part is small while the outer edge is also small, then there will be a lot of empty space around the image. So if the middle part looks very small then the outer edge must become very large. Tiny planet is the widest view of them all, therefore the most distorted and you'll see the outer pixels look extremely large. I hope you found this helpful! Hi Grubb sorry no you cannot convert a wide mode video into 360, even when shot in wide mode pro mode. With wide mode, it uses only one lens. So personally I seldom use wide mode unless I am absolutely sure I don’t need 360. And after you use wide mode you need to remember to switch back to 360. I forgot to do that one time and missed out on awesome 360 views.

Just finished doing an unboxing and also got some accessories. am a bit disappointed with the utility frame. the screw at the bottom does not fit the selfie sticks so you have to connect a gopro mount. they should have thought about that when they made the frame. but all in all no regrets in buying the one x2. it is just so much better than the one r.

For wireless audio I use rode wireless go and the new insta360 cold shoe mount. The combination is convenient and is totally invisible. But it is mono. If you want stereo then you probably should use an external recorder then sync in post. Alternatively you can use theta V and its 360 microphone which is quite good. So I’ve figured out that it only offers the insta pano option on certain 360 photos, possibly when it can see the sky/horizon? But definitely no crop option. Also no “offset” option, i.e. like we have in the goprofx reframe plug-in where we can get the horizon flat and then move it away from the centre of the shot. That would be handy!

Hey Alex. Congrats on getting the X2! 360 camera stabilization doesnt work the same way as an action cam stabilization and will not degrade the image quality. For wide mode, for best quality, use pro mode which will give maximum flexibility in post processing. You'll be able to change the aspect ratio and field of view even after shooting. Re plugins, you can use gopro fx reframe with insta360 one x2 videos. For best editing performance, stitch the video in insta360 studio first before importing to insta360 studio. But if you have a powerful pc, you can actually import .insv video files directly into premiere.

Thanks Mark. You should see "Pro mode" when you are in Wide (non-360) shooting mode. To switch to wide mode, you need to tap on the 360 symbol. It will change to 150. Then you should be able to tap on the resolution and on the top of the screen you'll see the option to switch between Basic and Pro modes.

For the 360 mode there is no basic mode because it is very difficult to have realtime stitching with stabilization (currently available only in a few professional 360 cameras). Hi Mount Abu. For anyone who sees this comment, I suggested to Mount Abu to get the phone with the best processor and most storage. Between Android and iOS, I found that iOS seems to stitch faster with Insta360 app. My iPhone SE 2020 is much faster at stitching than my Samsung S10 even if the iPhone SE 2020 is much cheaper.

Thanks bernhtp! About your questions: 1. Just pull the USB door gently. The hinge / cable has a tiny ball at the end and it will pop out. When you want to put it back in, push the cable into the hole. You can use needlenose pliers for this if you want. 2. Yes direction lock is what I suggest. You can use direction lock and then add keyframes to make any necessary corrections. Another way is to disable the flowstate stabilization. The third way is to use subject tracking, but this will put the tracking target in the middle of the frame, not at the bottom center. Unfortunately, you can't track the windshield because it's transparent. You can also try tracking the entire front of the motorcycle - handlebars, console, windscreen, etc. This could put the console in the bottom center.

@@360vroomers Per your response, here is a feature request I sent to Insta360: The object-tracking-reframe function is really handy. What many of us would like is to be able to designate where in the frame the tracked object is to be kept, rather than always in the middle of the frame. Here is an example of my use case: -- screenshot of my motorcycle video -- Here I’m leaning the motorcycle way over in a tight corner. Because I’m constantly turning through twisty roads (or racetracks), it would require me to insert a keyframe every half second of video to keep it properly framed. This requires way too much effort. Instead I turn on “Lock Direction” to keep mostly it framed reasonably well, though the “Flowstate Stabilization” still moves it a good bit where the console display periodically goes out of frame. I currently use these settings and manually reframe those instances with keyframes, normally in Premiere Pro. What would be very nice would be to extend the tracking feature not only to choose the object to be followed (here it would be the lower-center of the instrument console showing 54° lean) but also where in the frame it should be maintained (here it is about 10% from the bottom in the frame center). This would dramatically speed production of such videos. I would only need to reframe when I wanted a different view (e.g., the side or my body position). It would be ideal if this became a feature of the Premiere Pro reframe plug-in, which currently comes from GoPro, so it would become unnecessary to define clips and frames in Insta360 Studio, export it, import it into PP, etc.

Hey there Randy. First, shoot a 360 video (don't worry about aspect ratio yet). Next when you view your video in the app, you can see in the bottom row several icons, including aspect ratio. As for the Rode Wireless Go, please use this new mount, which is totally invisible: store.insta360.com/product/one_x2_shoe_mounting_bracket_extension?insrc=IRPUI4C (make sure it says invisible cold shoe for Rode Wireless Go)

@@360vroomers Yes, that is the mount I have, and The One x2 manages to find the edge of the Rhode and blend in a dark halo as you move the camera about. So I am afraid, there still as of yet no clear mic winner.

@@randysmith6493 I have that combo and it is invisible. you need to make sure the rode is completely flush and completely aligned to the side of the one x2. Also make sure the cable stays within the stitch line. Are you using any other accessories?

Oh one more tip: DO NOT use dynamic stitching. I think that’s what’s causing a sliver of the rode to appear.

Hey there Alan. Yes you can use the mouse scroll wheel or pinch on smartphone to zoom in or zoom out while watching. But as the video creator, you cannot force the view to zoom in or zoom out in KZfaq. On Facebook it used to be possible but they changed their interface and I'm not sure if you can still do it there.

Hi Leonard. Try turning on the WiFi via Bluetooth. To do that, turn on your X2 then launch your insta360 app. Tap on the yellow camera button. Assuming your phone Bluetooth and Wifi are turned on, your phone should attempt to communicate with your X2 via Bluetooth and if it is able to do that, it will remotely turn on your X2's wifi and connect to it. It is also possible that there are so many Wifi networks around you that your X2's signal has no space to be displayed on your wifi list.

Thanks h w. When you say snap a shot, what kind of shot was it? Was it a normal photo or was it HDR? Was it JPG or Raw+JPG? HDR takes longer and Raw+JPG takes longer. HDR with Raw+JPG takes the longest of all.

@@hw4434 I see! Insta360's HDR can take up to 9 shots, but it will take a while. And if you are shooting raw+jpg for the best quality, it will take many seconds. There are also some modes such as the night view mode and pureshot that take longer than normal to shoot.

Hi I use the self timer. I press the shutter and position the camera and wait for it to take the shot. With a short selfie stick, a 5 sec timer is enough. On a long selfie stick I use 10 secs.

Is your one x2 connected to other Bluetooth devices such as airpods? It can only connect to one Bluetooth device at a time.

Hi M D. The maximum recording time for 5.7k 360 video is supposed to be 80 minutes. I was able to record for 74 minutes. After every 30 minutes there will be a 10 second gap or so when the camera empties its cache.

Yes some techniques work with one r. For example, you can convert one r 360 photos or 360 videos to instapano using the 3rd technique. The wireless mics work with one r too. Etc.

Hi Projekt. For hiking, I would strongly recommend the Rode Wireless Go if you can afford it. Your voice will be much clearer. With the cheap one I suggested, there will be a lot of ambient noise (crickets, wind, leaves, etc.). For vlogging, clear audio is very important. If your video has bad audio, people will not watch it even if the video has good substance and has good image quality.

@@projektextremwandern the case is invisible if you place it very precisely. The tricky part is the cable. If you use the new option for the cold shoe, there is a way to position the cable so as to make it almost invisible.

The warming up after 5 or 10 mins of recording is totally normal because when it shoots 5.7k it is recording two 4k videos simultaneously. 4k50 and 3k100 actually have higher bitrates than 5.7k so they're more demanding. Have you tried downloading to your phone first? You can also try editing on desktop. Depending on your specs, it could be smoother.
