Same here. Since I took up mountain biking and stopped stretching, my body is getting stronger, and I'm building stamina, but I've made a big mistake in leaving out stretching. I'm so far away from where I was a couple of years ago. Everyone in the comments, you got this! Do this 1-2x a day, and you will see progress. Set an alarm, carve out a time that fits you each day, and get the kids or spouse involved if you have to. Do this to better your life and mental health. :)

I'm a bit late to the party here, but I just wanted to say thank you for this video. I have tried a lot of "beginner" yoga routines/videos over time, and all of them left me feeling deflated. "If this was a beginner's routine, how am I ever going to manage anything more difficult?" This routine was still embarrassingly challenging for me the first time round, but it was still completely accessable and not too exhausting. The fact you reminded me multiple times that I don't have to push myself the whole way straight away was a lovely reality check. You also helped me maintain a more positive mentality throughout. I found myself regularly criticising my lack of flexibility, strength and resilience however you encouraged me to check those thoughts and adopt a kinder way of speaking to myself. Thank you again. I've left this video feeling optimistic rather than defeated :):):)

You took the words right out of my mouth! I've never stuck with other beginner yoga videos because their idea of beginner seems to be an 18-year-old gymnast who has just never done yoga. 😉

I agree! I'm very inflexible and found it hard to do some of these poses but the reminders to try and not to self criticise really helped :)

I have been doing yoga for 30 yrs. I started doing this simple beautiful routine a couple of months ago. I am really enjoying it. Juliana has a calming voice and has put together a simple routine anyone can enjoy.

After talking to an old friend last week he mentioned that he has never felt so pain free after starting yoga and is now working at getting his yoga certification. This morning I tried my first beginner yoga lesson and couldn’t believe how tight my body is, my flexibility/strength was terrible and quite frankly embarrassing. I have always been a competitive athlete in soccer, volleyball, mtn biking, jetski racing and even a professional snowboarder, but being a laborer for most of my life my back and shoulders have seen better days, also having my ACL and MCL torn in a jetski racing accident didn’t help. At one time I was 176 lbs 8.5% body fat and at my strongest in lifting and cardio, but now I’m 55 and just retired 2 months ago and wanting to start my old workout/eating program since I have no more excuses to not workout. I plan on doing this beginner program until I see results and can keep advancing to harder/longer sessions. The hardest thing for me to accept in aging is that I can’t mtn bike or snowboard to my prior ability, after 38 years of snowboarding it has become a lifestyle and saddens me to the core to think some day it might all be over. It is truly addictive as any drug.

Hello everyone!! Tonight i did this practice and even if im doing yoga everyday the last month i still coud not do some simple asanas (butterfly..). My point is that for example 3 or 4 days ago i felt more flexible than tonight. Is it just me or happens to everyone? I thought the more you are practicing the more flexible you feel. I still believe it.. Maybe its just that some days you are less flexi even if you are going on.. Keep trying thought!! 🙏🙏 Namaste 🙏🌷

I think it happens to most of us. I try to respect and listen to my body. Every day is different, some days its cloudy, and other days sunny, accept where you are and enjoy it from there, that's what i try to do in my practice. 🙏☺️Namaste

foxy greca absolutely. When you put aside your ego, and respect your limitations in this moment, is when you are really doing yoga, not just moving your body into specific shapes. There is no “cheating” in yoga

09/06/2022: I have just done this for the first time and i intend to do this once a day as much as i can! Ill keep a log of how its going here! Currently my flexibility level is that of a plank of wood but literally after doing this i was a slightly bendy plank of wood so that's really great!!!!

Have not enjoyed yoga for a long long time. But I like stretching and one of my fitness goals for the rest of the year is to do the splits and be more flexible. So, I did this today and it wasn’t half bad. Will be using your videos in the future!
