Her voice shows so much suffering in her life. She hits all the notes, her timing is perfect but her soul is worn out. She must have only been in her forties but looked in her sixties. The profession has alot to answer for. The best female singer ever, worn to a frazzle before her time. Poor Judy. Rest In Peace x

Judy is the greatest singer ever, period. Their is no competition. Her voice is very tired here, but the audience didn't care. She came out on that stage and gave everything she had and the audience knew it. All they wanted was to see Judy, and she gave it her all. So no criticism please, she doesn't deserve it. She truly loved her audiences, and they loved her back. She truly WAS ONE OF A KIND.

Please don’t compare there public and private lives we don’t really know what they have been through in that disgusting business we call show business
@terrygrant34675 жыл бұрын
I don't have a lot of sympathy for Liza, she had a heads-up about the evils of show business. Her mother on the other hand had no clue that she was just a cash cow and that those around her (with the exception of Roger Edens) did whatever it took to keep her in front of the camera, they hired a women to worm her way into Judy's life and try to gain Judy's trust so the studio would always know what Judy was doing. Somehow Judy found out, and all heck broke loose. That was the day that Judy no longer trusted M.G.M. ever again.
@sheldoncooper11342 жыл бұрын
Judy was obviously working and singing even though you can tell by her voice here, that she is not well. It is a shame that the talent of Judy Garland who was the breadwinner for so many people for years, was singing to make ends meet after being ripped off by people who mismanaged and stole her money! After the success of Carnegie Hall concert in 1961, she should have taken 2years vacation off or more to stay healthy and preserve her voice. Instead she was working and working to the point of physical exhaustion and poor health. The Hollywood system didn't care. They only care about fame and money. People who really loved and cared about her, would rather have her alive more than 47 years, than all the fame in the world. What price Hollywood? when a person is worked and drained to death.

This is Judy Garland. You are lucky to have these recordings and videos. She is the greatest entertainer to have walked this earth. She doesn’t just sing ... she tells you a story and she does it with every fiber of her being so that her performance engulfs you and holds you and she takes you with her so that you live the music with her.
@lindseysanders36563 жыл бұрын
Even nearing the end of her life she was miles better than most, or any, of the entertainers today. Back then there wasn’t all the digital trickery that can be used today, even during a live show. They actually had to have talent. She had been performing for 40+ years at this point.
