For thousands of years, humans have travelled the world by water. Be it strong waves, terrible storms, or heated battles, there are countless ways in which boats can capsize, making sea travel a risky business. However, there are some areas of the globe that are much more dangerous than others so today, pull the rigging and prepare to set sail as we count down the Top 15 Most Dangerous Oceans and Seas in the world.

Nothing makes you feel more insignificant than standing on a little boat in the middle of the ocean. Especially when a whale 3 times the size of your boat surfaces right next to it to (I assume) say hello. Lol. That was A truly incredible experience!! 😁

Yes! Got close to a pod of about 50 whales and tons of the "puppies of the sea." Seals, barking and checking out the whale watching boat. It was flat as a pancake from San Francisco to the Faralons but I still got sick as a sea puppy. Absolutely worth it! Feeling small is good for the soul sometimes.

No Atlantic Ocean??? REALLY??? That's by far the most dangerous ocean. Bermuda Triangle? The storm waves off the coast of Africa come from the Atlantic. I was in the US Navy. I've traveled the Atlantic, Caribbean Sea, Gulf of Mexico, Pacific, Straits of Magellan, Drake Passage, Southern Ocean, and both sides of the equator more than 6x in just 3 years of service. Other than probably the Indian Ocean, the Atlantic will have you reconsidering life choices💯
@rodneywashington2017
@rodneywashington2017 Жыл бұрын
@I I Very Similar danger, but in a different way. More seismic activity in the Pacific and Indian Oceans, as well as tsunami threats. Waves in the Indian Ocean are just as powerful as the Pacific. Now, in the Atlantic Ocean though, they have what I call, "Wreckless Waves". History also across the other side of the pond prove this as well. Coming from West to East is a little easier, but from East to West is downright treacherous to say the least. A lot more mysterious power in the Atlantic. More storms, vortex type activity in the Atlantic. It can be sailed, but you have to be far more precise in direction, or capsizing and being swept out is more likely. Pacific and Indian Oceans have bigger waves to the shore more often. Atlantic waves are more powerful in the middle of the ocean. Usually most powerful to shore during incoming storms. Shipwrecks are also more common in the Atlantic Ocean movements.

No idea how the Atlantic didn't make your list. Not only that but it should be the First on the list. You did great at geography in school... European explorers called one of the oceans the Pacific, comparing it to theirs, the Atlantic, given the dozens of trips they started from Spain, Portugal, England, Denmark etc ... Most of these guys were obsessed with the New World crossing north and south of the Atlantic to see if there anything there.. Da Gamma, Vespucci, Columbus, Magellan, Cortez etc etc... Lake Erie is often considered the most dangerous lake, with up to 2,000 shipwrecks recorded there, although Lake Michigan is the "drowning" capital of lakes due to its high waves and temperatures. The famous Fitzgerald was the largest ship which lost at least 29 men when it went down. The Indians knew and warned newcomers of the dangerous nature of the lakes, but the money from fishing and transportation was too huge to ignore....

I never go out into the ocean anymore, though I grew up body surfing at Santa Cruz, which was really cold, and in the 60s, we were told that sharks only attacked people in warm waters and stayed out of cold water, which was completely untrue, but the movie, "Jaws" hadn't come out yet, so we didn't know! We would even swim out to play with seals, ignorant of the fact that they can be extremely territorial and dangerous during mating. After moving to Texas, I loved going to Port Aransas in the Gulf of Mexico and could walk way out on sandbars. I did that until a few fishermen told me that in between sandbars sharks like nurse sharks, lay in what they call the "guts". There are also a LOT of dangerous jellyfish like the Man of War that has yards of floating tentacles which can stop your respiratory system from working, not what you want when way out in the ocean. I've had run ins with the man of war and it hurts like hell forever, and tripping over a big shark is terrifying.

@@PartyhatRS We used to vacation with another couple, who were marine biologists, which was so cool! Once I tripped over a huge Ray, which jumped out of the water over my head! It was so big, the biggest one I've ever seen! I was so lucky it didn't spike me, especially after I learned that the crocodile hunter was killed by one! I was shrieking as it went over my head and my friends were laughing, telling me would be ok since it immediately took off instead of attacking. They said if you accidentally stumble over one you aren't as likely to be hurt since they just want to get away, not fight! It's always possible but normally they only really get upset if you bug the hell out of them, which is what Steve Irwin did. He was really stupid about just going after every creature for the show without knowing anything about them. I think he was under a lot of pressure to do an exciting show and took more and more risks with things he knew nothing about...

I too, used to be an avid surfer, primarily on the Atlantic side of Florida between Sebastian Inlet and Cocoa Beach, but occasionally on the Gulf side when there were hurricanes incoming. One evening as I was out there waiting for a good wave I felt something, rough like sandpaper, graze the inside of my upper left thigh. I knew it was a shark and couldn't paddle back in fast enough! For some reason they like to congregate around the mouths of inlets, which I didn't know at the time. Seeing the movie "Jaws" ended my surfing hobby. The nice and pretty Gulf can get pretty nasty at times. While walking in the water at Siesta Key Beach on a crowded day a five, a ten, and a couple of one dollar bills rolled in from someone's pocket in the crowd. That was also the day I stepped on a ray, and three of them took off in formation from where I was standing. They like to partially bury themselves in the sand near the water line. Thankfully I wasn't stung or cut, but it was unnerving. I've also been stung by a man o'war and that felt like a red hot wire wrapped around my leg. And I also have had a big crab latch onto my toe. Yes, they are very strong. From the Flagler Beach pier I have seen sharks about 15 feet away from people swimming out there. Even after pointing and hollering "sharks!" those people still didn't get the message. While on a snorkeling tour once, our guide reminded us before we getting into the water, "keep in mind that once you enter the water you are no longer at the top of the food chain."

The Grand Banks (which are in the Atlantic Ocean) are one of, if not, the harshest marine environments on the planet. Relatively shallow depths, tides and hurricanes makes for very large wave heights. There's always a ground swell and when there's a crosswind, it makes for a confused sea which makes ships corkscrew.

You can imagine the Earth without water, as water balances the shape of the Earth, its rotation around itself, and around the sun. Tides are considered a safety valve for the Earth and its rotation. As the water melts, the Earth slows down its rotation. Water has increased due to the melting of the ice caps in the poles and the Himalayas, and thus, the rotational force also increases... Abstract : The energy that dominates the earth is very great, some of it is natural, like the heat of the sun and volcanoes, and some of it is human action, by cutting down trees, without replacing them and cultivating in their place... There are five forces that control or dominate the planet... 1- The first theory (horizontal dynamic movement) and its end... The occurrence of storms, rain, floods and snow, at unexpected times and places, is because of the expiration of this theory, which needs to be balanced... 2- The second theory (vertical dynamic movement) and its end... This movement or force controls or dominates the earthquakes, earth cracks, drying up of rivers and lakes, earth openings, mountain collapses, and the emergence of drinking water springs on the ground... It becomes out of control... These phenomena increased due to the end of this theory... The third theory: it is water that rotates the earth... The fourth theory: the Earth's axis of rotation has tilted 2° degrees... The fifth theory: The Earth has a new orbit... These studies had completed and sent on July 26th 2000 YOUSIF A TOBIYA
