What are things you've quit to help simplify and slow down in life? ☀

I'm still decluttering but I feel better everyday because of it.

Yes! It is crazy how much decluttering can affect your whole life! So glad it has been a positive process for you and you are feeling better because of it! 🤍

I stopped having a morning routine too. When I didn’t accomplish everything on my morning list I felt like a failure then the whole day felt that way. When I stopped trying so hard the rhythm just fell into place. I still have certain things I want to do ever morning that just make my life better but they don’t have to be done in any certain time frame or order. This just works so much better for me. I guess in essence there is no pressure or expectations.

Yes exactly! Just taking off the pressure and strictness and allowing myself to enjoy the mornings and still be able to get things done. 🤍 That change has made all the difference for me and so glad I'm not the only one! 😊

One thing that helped me is... less is better and people won't notice my nice things if there is too much.they will be like....what?

So true! I've learned that other people don't really care haha, so it's silly for me to base the decisions in my life around my worries of wat they will think.

Great ideas! I'm in a season of life with a lot of uncertainty and challenge. I've found out that going slower has really helped me. I've given up many of the things you mentioned. This means more time outside in nature, more time between commitments for daydreaming, more time taking care of my space and my body, more time soaking up on beauty and calm, more time connecting with loved ones, more time learning from others. It's a radical act to live slowly in a world that wants you to speed up 🐌

So glad you have been able to slow down and spend the time and energy on things you love! It's so true that living this slower more intentional way is radically different when the rest of the world is saying to constantly be doing more all the time 😓 Love that you are taking that time to be in nature, see loved ones, and take care of yourself! I working on continuing to find ways to do more of that in my life each day too, especially being outside! The more time I spend outside in nature the better I feel! 🤍

One thing that I have quit is hobbies. I have a tendency to start projects and never finish them or spend money on supplies for a project and never complete it. I have even tried to start new hobbies and just not enjoyed them as much as I thought I would. Between work and family and what I’d like to do in my free time, I have found myself happier and less stressed without the added work of a hobby. Plus it has helped my wallet, since I’m no longer wasting money on unnecessary crafts and projects. That said, there’s nothing wrong with hobbies but in this season of my life, I am better off without them.

That's such a great idea! I definitely am glad I gave up my scrapbooking hobby a while ago. I wasn't really into it any more and it took up so much space, time, and money. I still enjoy trying out new hobbies every now and then, but I feel like I know myself better now and can tell if it's something worth the space, time, and money and if not moving on keeps things much simpler. Like you said, it's all about the season of life and everyone knows their life and what the need best 😊

I love the Javy idea. Been looking for something different than what I had been doing for years. Looking to condense too many counter machinery. Glad I watched.

What I've done different is throw things in trash that I want as if I don't I keep taking out of donation box. Spending money on family friends and my dog instead of myself.like a friend was having hard times so I gave up buying for me and helped her.

If you're making all the effort in the relationship, they don't have to do anything. It's not easy to make this adjustment tho. Keep working at it.
@SamanthaRae.

Yeah I know that feeling all too well, it is very draining and hurtful when you feel like you are the only one making the effort. It takes time, but I've learned to let some of those relationships go and focus on the ones where people are happy to invest the time and energy into it the same as me! 🤍
@SamanthaRae.
@SamanthaRae. 2 ай бұрын
Totally agree! It's hard to work through that, but keep going and hope you can find the amazing relationships you deserve! 😊

Yes! I used to always feel guilty for down time or enjoying life since i felt like I should be working or productive every single minute. But it feels so good to prioritize that time for life outside of work, and I've learned it so much more important to me than work stuff! 😊 Cheers to guilt free down time! 🤍

I work in real estate and marketing with a team in Arizona. I had been doing that for years and when we moved to DC a few months ago for my husband's job, I transitioned to doing the job remotely. It's been a tricky transition, but figuring out how to make it work one day at a time 😊
