Karl actually saved Chanel. Coco puted it down by saying that short skirt and jeans was lame and had no future. When Karl get on Chanel it was a dying brand. It's him who made it what it is now. RIP.

Real creative people in the world and throughout history enriched us with so much....however, these creative people always, at some level, gave us these gifts with a sacrifice. Highly creative people in all areas, don't bring about these contributions without giving something up of themselves. Whether it's sexual lifestyle, addictions, psychological difficulties, poor choices is spouses or partners, dysfunctional relationships, difficult personalities, etc. It's always a trade off.

He's probably one of those celebs. And if he looked nervous to you flying commercial back then, then that's all the answer you need as to why he started flying private.
