I believe so, since I've been hearing a lot more people getting the Mazda 6, instead of a Camry or Accord. I live the styling and I got one of the newer ones, instead of my Avalon. Problem was, was that Mazda did not come to mind naturally, like Honda and Toyota did.

Dave M I work for them. It’s because they do the shittiest job in marketing and getting the word out. Unlike most car brands they lack mass marketing and rebates and incentives. They spend all the money is making a great car and seamless connection with car/driver but no one knows about it until they come to the dealership.
@jamesmedina2062
@jamesmedina2062 5 жыл бұрын
son huynh I totally don't agree. I have worked for them before too. They are doing all kinds of marketing and advertising. What sells cars is not commercials. Its the reliability and test drive. Reliability can take 10-20 years to establish. Test drive comes down to the performance versus the competition. Also, people tend to go with the top dog in America. Toyota is at the top worldwide. So Mazda needs to work on making parts for longer and supporting maintenance better in older cars and it needs the performance in the big 3: power, handling, braking to be at or better than the rest.

I think Mazda's future is so bright we'll all have to wear shades. They have developed the SPCCI engine (Skyactiv-X) and have it working well enough to introduce it on the next gen Mazda3. They will own the segment. Next up, Skyactiv-X for the CX-5 and they'll own that segment too.

As long as they don't release it before it's "fully baked". That's why they had to replace so many RX-8 engines the first couple of years (like mine). The 2nd-gen RX-8 engine (which they replaced it with) is a thing of joy and beauty.

I used to sell these beautiful vehicles! Mazda doesn't want their market share over 2-3%. They have one of the BEST resale values in the market! Also, they really don't consider most other Japanese car companies competitors. Mazda considers themselves a more premium brand, similar to BMW, Audi, or Acura.

@markkoetsier6475
@markkoetsier6475 6 жыл бұрын
I'll concede the rust problem, but I'm having trouble remembering one Mazda outside the RX models that can be described as unreliable, and even _those_ can be pretty dependable if you at least know how to drive (and maintain) them properly. They're fickle rather than all-around poorly built, cause rotary engines are underdeveloped tech. I don't know where you got the shit reliability idea from, but it's plain not true. Even in the eighties and nineties Mazdas were every bit as trusty as any Toyota or Honda you were likely to find. And that's with them sharing parts with Ford during the latter decade and through most of the 00s.

I appreciate Mazda vehicle line-up from the 90's to now and always wonder how come they never caught-up to the other JDM brands since their designs and features are so attractive. The RX7 is legendary and carry the weight of the brand for a long time as well on the import scene. Here is an interesting fact for you - Mazda wanted to do what Toyota did with Lexus, Honda did with Acura and Nissan did with Infiniti so they attempted to start a Luxury brand of their own known as Amati in 1992, but never really took off.

The Roadpacer used a body and interior of an Australian Holden car from the mid-70s with a Mazda rotary engine. The vehicle performed poorly as the power of the engine was insufficient for the car’s weight. In Australia, the Holden version was powered by either a 6 cylinder or V8 engine.

I just bought a left over 2017 Mz3T HB. 2.5L manual. Great car. Huge improvement over my 2011 2.0 Mz3iT manual sedan. It's incredibly fun to drive and has super stable high transient level handling. I'm planning on doing a big upgrade. Ditch the horrible OEM all seasons and go with Michelin Pilot Sports. I did this with the 2011 and the results were amazing. Now, how about moving the battery to the right rear, cast aluminum control arms, aluminum center disc rotors, the V6 drivetrain, bigger brakes, tuning, etc. as a sport package?

The Mazdaspeed 3 isn't half bad. Why don't you try one of those? We really like my wife's Mazda3, too, though I prefer my RX-8.

For my daily driver, I wanted to stay away from the extra complications of the extra heat, complications, beating the crap out of the oil, and other issues of forced induction. What I'd like to see is a Mz3 with the Mz6 V6, aluminum control arms, battery moved to the rear back... THAT would be a FUN compact car, imho...The M3ZHBT is a really nice car...But, I'm amazed at how the 2.5L can dominate most traffic conditions...And, I just picked up a set of Michelin Ice on steels for the winter. Ready for bear, now...

I've been a Mazda fan since I owned my first one. I will own the rx7 one day, but so far my favorite one has been the mazdaspeed3. Until you really drive one you don't understand the slogan zoom zoom" then you drive one and realize it has a great driver feel and a raw response.

I have a 2014 phase 3 Miata. The critics consider it the finest expression of a roadster concept. Pre touch screen just a Bose 7 speaker sound system. Nothing to distract you from the driving excitement.This even after the phase 4 hit the scene.

Much less expensive to operate than a CR-V: "The CX-5 went in for four scheduled services, which cost $340.57. For comparison, our 2015 CX-5 cost a total of $320.37 for three service visits, and our 2017 Honda CR-V cost $417.60 for two, not including the unscheduled battery and differential fluid change...." Mazda’s most successful market, in terms of market share, is Australia, where it trails only Toyota. In terms of purely private vehicle sales (ie. excluding fleet sales), Mazda is often Australia’s biggest seller.

Mazda absolutely will increase global sales as long as their vehicles stay on the cutting edge of engineering wrapped in great styling. I look forward to the introduction of the Vision sedan with an advanced rotary engine. That would embody the attributes for success I listed above. My 2019 CX 5 GT Reserve is an example of an advanced turbo engine wrapped in great styling. This SUV is one of the automotive Great Bargains as well as being rewarding to drive.
