This is not a "how to" video. This is just a Vlog showing any problems I have installing the boomba short throw shifter and what I think of the finished product.

I have been thinking about this but I have gotten used to the stock shifter. Doesn't seem like it's worth the effort for me. Knowing me I'll probably break the whole assembly lmao

Haha it is a bit of a pain for not much difference. But I do like it better. Took me almost a year of debating to finally try it lol

@@antonsalmin8373 actually I thought It was gonna be uncomfortable at first but it actually feels better being lower and its actually slightly curved towards the driver side so its closer to you

it looks like it's more work to shift. Shorter throw, but stiffer or something

It does feel much stiffer to get into gear than stock. Almost feels like you have to push harder. But its been about a week since the install and I've gotten used to it and I'd say its more good than bad.

Needs the boomba shifter plate to help that, the counter weights will allow for a smoother shift

we used like a little flathead to get the snapring off my 1320 short shifter it wasnt that bad, only took like 2-3 mins. how u liking the short shifter? im loving mine & the shift stop & brass bushing is amaaazing.

I'm loving it! I also have the shift stop and brass bushings, its so crisp!! Haha feels great!

That screw with the lock washer for the side shifter assembly.. can’t get it tightened whatsoever.. any tips?

Do you mind doing a exhaust setup video ? I currently have the Q300 catless turboback and was looking into a quieter setup for highway driving

Sure I can definately do that! If it helps as of right now it goes; - 1320 performance catless downpipe - Stock STI Midpipe - Stock WRX mufflers

Have you ever experienced the P0852 Code Neutral Switch Input Circuit high? How did you fix it if yes?

I installed the short shifter also but now it doesn't seem to go into 1st 3rd and 5th gear all the way. Any ideas of what it could be?

Even if you're on the stock tune and have rev hang this definitely has a great feel to it and faster shifts. It's a tad bit notchy but I'd say it's definitely an improvement over stock.

Hey man the 10mm nut on the assembly I was able to take out 2 but the other 2 I cnt it keeps spinning what do you suggest?

Any chance you can stick a flathead under the nut while spinning it loose? It might catch a thread then spin off

Do you have a pitch stop as well? If you have an aftermarket pitch stop if it's set too far over it can catch and not go in correctly

Oh I misread. Its probably the shift stop or the shift lever. The shop mentioned they may have to adjust it.

I just had this installed and am also having trouble getting into first. No solutions yet. Please let me know if you find one.

Where did you get the shifter shroud?

It's the stock shroud I just painted it. You may be able to buy one that looks like it though.

@@StreetInspired1 oh nice. How’d you get the WRX red. I have been wanting to do the same but not sure how to get the lettering red

@@lenny95sehs I painted the black first and then clearcosted it. Afterwards I lightly resanded it and light Painted the red over the wrx letters, then sanded off the overspray around the letters so just the red was left in the wrx lettering, then I reclearcoated everything.

Could you tell me your exhaust and jpipe setup? Does it drone on the highway? Is it loud

I'm running catless jpipe, stock sti midpipe (since it has a resonator) and the stock mufflers. Its pretty quiet which is what I wanted. No drone at all! Its loud when you get on it but quiet when cruising!

@@StreetInspired1 oh snap. I just took my aftermarket exhaust off. That thing was so deep and droney. Stock is perfectly fine for a daily just the tips we're bigger

@@antonsalmin8373 now that's the issue I'm having! Haha I prefer the quieter exhaust but you're right the stock tips just look out of place. Been thinking of having someone weld larger tips on my stock mufflers haha

@@StreetInspired1 haha I saw some really nice ones on eBay that were stainless steel and had carbon fiber on the outside. I might go that route
