Yay! well sadly I doubt they are reading my comments, but if they were I would be demanding a 100 set of Derwent Drawing, they are beautiful pencils, and such good quality. They seem to be making smaller sets rather than larger, these have been made to complete with Prisma, so they have had to go to 150, but none of there other sets are this large now, (sadly) I wonder whether they will continue with coloursoft now they have these, as they are a similar product, but how knows! 👍 I'll hope they see this for you, x

@@wendyscolouring Hi, thank you! I totally agree with the Drawing pencils, it would make so much more sense. They do a 72 Pastel set, they could match a 72 drawing set too! Did they match the Chromaflow colours to the Prismacolors? The pencil size is why I prefer the coloursoft more. They are a too thin for my feeling.

@@twingytwango6971 No i don't think they have matched the prismas they have mainly used some of these own colours. They have added more lilac/purples which match more with the prismas, but a lot of the other colours I knew from some of my other Derwent sets, ( Artists, and lightfast) they weren't all new to me. Agree on the size, although you do get used to them when using them, I just don't find them as comfortable. I suppose this is supposed to be a more affordable product, so they have to make some savings somewhere, x

Derwent do certainly always load there pencils with pigment, and these are the same, I've never actually tried them with my lightfast, I might give that a go. Some of these colours are in the lightfast palette, so that's a good idea for anyone that hasn't got the new set.👍

That was what I did when I saw them available on Amazon!😂😁 I was surprised when I started reading 150 would be available, not like Derwent to jump right in to such a big set, I'm so glad they did though, they need 150 of these. Oh yes, Gold Fabers are probably a bit hard compared to these, but I do agree, getting these loose stock will be a good addition. Prismas, are not easy to get loose stock here, so I'm more likely to use these instead. I'm so pleased you are excited for them. Just keep an eye out for the prices of the sets, as some times it is cheaper to buy as a set, x 👍

Agreed on the metallics, I'm no lover of a metallic pencil, I don't really ever use them, greens are always useful, but this set has improved the ones we had at least. I'm finding its a much more useable set, I've used it quite a lot since I recorded this, and they have started to become a set I'm enjoying. I can't see them adding anything more to this range after this sadly, x 👍

Yay!, Hope you are enjoying them by now, x 🤞🤞I have been enjoying these this week, I like the new colours. I sadly don't think the wood is any better, it's pine I think, which is apparently better with this type of core. You just need to be careful what you sharpen with. My Darle 133, is good with them, or make sure you are using a new blade in a manual sharpener. ( This wood feels easily spilt, so the sharper blade the better I think) I have had less issues with my set, (so far) but as they are soft, I doubt that will continue long term. but at least they will be available loose stock eventually, x 🤞🤞

Yes, I saw it last night, it’s a bit of a mess isn’t it. Totally pointless bringing out the 150 if there aren’t loose stock, it makes a joke out of it. I’m still hoping they are just in the process of building up stocks to make the tins of 150, and get those around the world , and then once they have decent stock available, they can then look at loose stock,. But at this point who knows. They aren’t doing themselves any favours with this approach, long term, it makes it difficult to support this line, if we have to buy a whole set to replace one pencil. A couple of folks have already mentioned they have breakages with the extra pencils, no replacement stock just isn’t going to wash! I don’t understand why they don’t just explain their intentions, it’s a very odd response. They do really seem to struggle to promote their products successfully, why do they never explain what’s coming soon so people can make informed choices. This should be a winning line for them, but poor communication isn’t helping.

I thick the current Amazon price it a great price, its a £1 a pencil, so I can't knock that! The Derwent website, price however is a joke, it a £127 more expensive! Overall I'm really pleased with them, and am enjoying them on my page in the Gabi wolf book👍

Yes agreed, its an ok price, especially as its a new release price. Hopefully there will be some deals later down the line. ( Derwent's website is taking the P though!) I haven't used my 72 that much, but I don't tend to use 72 sets much, as it feels too few colours for me. I'm hoping I will use these more now, I have enjoyed them this week, so time will tell!👍

Oh yes, even adding the 28 makes that set more useful I think, I love having loads of colours, I normally use my Luminance and Holbeins together, so that's 300 pencils, so this doesn't seem that much to me!😂 I think the thinness is why they can make them cheaper, as they are making a cost saving with this amount of wood, and a cheaper wood. They seem to have left the coloursofts don't they, I wonder how much longer they will make them, as this is a similar product. These definitely aren't as well made as the colour softs, x

Thanks Kylie, yes I order the Watercolour sets for school, ( for exam groups) they last pretty well, and the colour palette is good. I've not noticed the Chromaflows popping up in any of our educational suppliers yet, I think Kids dropping them would be more of a worry with these, but they would be nice in the classroom. It normally seems to be a good 6 months after we've had a release over here, before there are good stocks around the world, I'd certainly hold on and weight for the stock to be more available, as the prices will be better. Gosh 269, 00 is pretty pricey, don't pay that, I've give it some time, they will get to you for cheaper than that once the stocks about. xx 🤞🤞

Oh dear, so sorry. No Derwent don't tend to let people know much about upcoming releases, I understand that can be annoying. I'd just wait until loose stock becomes more available, and add the extra colours you'd like. They do quite often have Derwent stock on offer on Amazon as well, so waiting you may get a better deal. The 72 is still a nice set, and you can get a better idea, of whether these pencils are for you, x ❤️💗🤞

Hiya, yes they are soft, but not quite as soft as Prisma, I think Prisma is the softest pencil on the market. I do think they last a bit longer as a result. There are some great colours in this set, the more I use it the more its growing on me, x 👍😁

I am waiting for my 1st small set of Caran d'Ache ! I also ordered a tiny set of Derwent Coloursoft AND of course Chromaflows as I don't know the difference twixt 'em and wanna see which work better for me. Can't wait ! Plus I ordered Castle Arts 72 soft set. I am most curious about Caran d'Ache and Derwents! I just went crazy and ordered on amazon all these pencils today . If I like any of them I will def want 2 order a bigger set. Do u sonetimes use Posca markers? @@Agnese.colouring Oooh exciting! New pencils are always fun. I personally prefer the Chromaflows to the coloursoft, I feel like the Coloursofts are too waxy for me, and not enough pigment. I love my Luminance, (CD) but they did grow on me, I didn't love them to start, I feel they have a bit of a learning curve with what works with them. I don't tend to use my castles very often, again a bit too much wax for me. I do use Posca's but also lots of other acrylic markers, Arrtx, Lightwish, and GuangNa, as they have better colour ranges than Posca. Posca's are great pens, but the colour range is very bright, not much natural tones. Derwent do have a few ranges now, Lightfast is there most expensive range, aimed at Artists, they are nice, I use them with my Luminance (CD) Coloursoft were a mid priced pencil, lots of colourists used to use these, I suspect Derwent will stop making them soon, as Chromaflow kind of replace them really. Derwent Artists, are very hard, ( More like a Polychromos) they have reduced the colours available in these recently, down to 72, but there used to be 120 of these. Intense, are their soluble ink based pencils, and they have watercolour pencils as well, but only in a 72 set now. . I haven't forgot about recording my books, its on the list, life has just been getting in the way a bit at the moment. Once once I hit a quiet spot I will try to record them. It will need to be a few videos though! 😉😂

Hiya, A little bit, they are a soft pencil, but do feel a little bit firmer than a Prisma. They will certainly work well with Prisma, and there are some different colours. I'd just get one of the very small sets, to see if you like the feel of them, or perhaps wait until there is more loose stock, and get colours you feel are different to Prisma to add into your set? For Us here in the UK Prismas are so expensive and tricky to get, this set makes perfect sense. 👍❤️

They are lovely, I'm really enjoying the new colours, they do make it a much more usable set. 👍Keep looking out for some offers, as the stock becomes more freely available they do tend to have the odd deal, x 🤞

Hiya Doodle, 🖖 Derwent website prices are always a bit crazy, I don't understand why they do it, I dont think they want a website or something?? Prisma are running at 220/230 ish at the moment here, so 150 for the Derwents on Amazon make more sense here. Prismas's dont have any authorised sellers here, ( I think because of how Berol was divided as a business and sold) So we can only buy from second sellers, even on Amazon. As such the prices are a bit wild west, and we struggle to buy any loose stock. There are a couple of small online shops, but no real life shops. Derwent are always sold loose stock in art shops here, so they will (once the sort the stock) make much more sense for us over here. Im just still missing a couple of the Prisma pinks, (which I've added into my Derwent case) For you in the USA, Prisma's are always going to be cheaper I think. 👍🤖👽

Thanks Scott, I should have perhaps looked it up before hand shouldn't I. ( Im Useless!😉😂) The Amethyst is very dark in the Derwent, so that's definitely not the same as the new Prisma, Orchid in Derwent is very close to the original Lavender, perhaps not quite as bright, but similar. I will have to get the two new ones, would be interesting to see the difference. 👍🫶🏻

@wendyscolouring When I heard Derwent was releasing a 150 set, I was thinking about the issue of where you couldn’t get Lilac and Lavender Prismacolour Pencils anymore, you mentioned Orchid is like Lavendar? Do you also know of any shade in the Derwent that is close to the original Prisma Lilac? I loved that shade and couldn’t get enough of it.... thank you 🥰

@@sadiamahmood3742 yes there sadly isn’t one the same in this set. The closest is Aztec Purple, but it is much darker than Prismacolor lilac, but feels like the same pigment, just a shade darker.

As I said, they are on Amazon U.K. I only offered the information because you had quoted the £ price and the €, I thought it might be helpful. If you’re in the USA then it won’t be. These are in line with what Prismas cost in the U.K. (actually a bit cheaper at this offer price)but, hopefully, they won’t have all the quality issues.

@@amethystte2749 I am from Germany. As soon as I heard about 150 set I started to search and found them only on Derwent official website gor 277£. In few days they came up on Amazon Germany for 224€ , checked Amazon UK 150£ then just out of interest changed the settings to Amazon US and the price was 140$.

I think possibly they have looked on Uk, and changed the costings to Dollars? I'm not sure they are on US yet, x ( They will be coming soon I'd imagine, you are normally a couple of months behind us from Derwent releases)

Hiya Marie, Lets be honest I'm a bit spoilt when it comes to pencils, so its got to be amazing to really excite me I think. ( If I'm honest Im finding excited a bit more tricky due to personal issues, and perhaps that has come across a bit as well) I think these have been a bit of a grower on me this week, I've been using on the Gabi Wolf page, and I have really enjoyed some of the new colours, I think they do really add to the 72's and make them more useable. The pigment load is very good in most. There are certainly some overpriced sellers out there, but the current Amazon price is £1 a pencil, I don't think is too bad. I'd would have loved these more in a thicker better wooded body, but the cost would have been more, and I understand the reason they are making them like this. ( Prisma) I suppose I don't use Prisma that often, and I do layer a bit as well, so these probably aren't going to be my most favourite for that reason, but I think I will use them more now I'm happier with the colour selection. They are an investment as this price, and I totally understand if they are for you, I'm just too nosey not to try!😁👍🫶🏻
