In this Coloursoft pencils review I talk about how these pencils color and who I think would like them. I also show a couple of completed pictures with them and make a fool out of myself with very basic math.

Oh, sorry, to add why: I was thinking, wondering really, if these would complement the Derwent drawing pencil nature palette which I love, and where it really need a few more colors. I can imagine they would work well together, if the palette were kind to each other.

Oh, my stars, the little duck-call sounding trumpet, "wahhbba-wahb--wahhh. . ." music, adding up the numbers😋. This is a great video, by the way. I could wish there was a more generous range of warm to cool hues across both the very dark greens and dark blues. Good for nature landscapes, shadows and distances, depth into tree foliage, that stuff. But a beautiful set just the same.

So nice to see someone doing a review on these pencils, you don't see them a lot. I've got the 72 set in the wooden box (the smell is amazing every time I open it, so that's why I don't move them to a pencil case) and find them not the easiest pencils. Maybe because my other pencils are the Polychromos and those are so different. But I've done a double page spread in a Rita Berman book with a lot of blending and I'm starting to become more friends with the Coloursoft. I really like the fact that there are colours which are not in the Polychromos, which lack a bit of pastel colours. Funny fact, the wooden box here in the Netherlands is cheaper than when you buy them in a tin.

Yes the pastels are lovely and I like the grey green and grey lavender too. But they are very different from prismas. It’s funny how the cost of things varies so much from country to country. Thanks for sharing. 💕

@@jazzydoodledesigns The prismas are pretty expensive here in Europe, I paid less for my 120 set of Polychromos/Albrecht Durer. I have bought a 24 set of prismas, just to try them out and I don't really like them. I find them too soft and too small for my hands. And the fact that they break easily doesn't make me want them either, though they do have a great colour range.

Yes derwints are good pencils and really expensive so I stick with the budget sets❤

Yes for what we do there are more appropriate pencils. And we can afford to eat more than ramen lol

😂 The addition bloopers, I love it! I was giggling along with you. 😁 When I look for new pencil sets I’m usually looking for sets with colors that are different than the Polychromos and Prismacolor sets. How do you find these ones compared to those two sets? Mostly similar colors?

There are several colors like grey lavender, grey green, pale lavender, pale mint, baby blue , cloud blue and pale peach that polys don’t have. But otherwise they are similar. They are much softer though. A completely different feel.

Good to know. May have to add these or a different Derwent set to my repertoire. I have the Derwent Drawing pencils because they have very different colors than I normally see in pencil sets. I also recently bought my first set of Black Widow pencils… honestly though, I’m not sure what to think of them. Still evaluating if it’s worth getting the rest of them.
