Welcome to Frugal Fit Mom, today we are doing a shop with me video for cheap groceries for my family of 6. We are going to Winco, Fred Meyer, and even checked out Target for some clothes! Groceries seem to be getting more expensive but I am still trying to stay within a reasonable budget.

Try planning ahead when you know there will probably be leftovers. Set aside some of the ground beef to use the next night in something different instead of putting it all in spaghetti sauce. If you hold some of the protein out instead of putting it all in a sauce or a casserole, it can be used in a totally different way the next night.

So we are a family that does the "once a month shopping" thing. I'll load up on fresh stuff and frozen/canned stuff. Basically, fresh stuff gets eaten first. If anything is starting to go, then it gets frozen or used in soups or whatever. Then when we are all out of the fresh stuff, we use whatever is hanging out in the freezer until grocery day again! Depending on the time of year, fresh lasts longer so we will apples and stuff all month long. In the winter, its a lot more of living out of the freezer/pantry (at least that's how it goes up here in northern Alberta).

I've been doing fetch rewards from your suggestion last year.Went on vacation and stopped at a McDonald's for a biscuit for breakfast. There was a busload of college kids in front of us and each one just throughout their receipt as they got their food into a little tiny trash can. When they were through I scooped every one of them out and there was over 40 of them! Yay me! Each one was five points!

For monthly shopping, I have a couple of tricks: 1. If it will be cooked or blended, buy it frozen or canned. 2. Buy items that keep longer- potatoes, apples, winter squash, onions, nuts 3. For salads, buy bags to use that day. Otherwise get whole lettuces and cabbages bc they keep longer.

I only shop once a month at 1 store(otherwise youre paying for the multiple trips via gas. Which can get SUPER price if your not careful!😬). To preserve the fresh veggies and whatnot for the whole month, I pre-prep them for the month when i get home, pre-cook my meals, and then freeze them! We even have some single meal tupperware i got off amazon in bulk that is reusable and has helped us save LOADS of money because we hardly have any food waste anymore!😊We only have things like salad and whatnot during the first 2 weeks, and the 2nd 2 weeks of the month we use frozen veggies and whatnot. 😊 Everything stays fresh, nutrients are all there, and it saves LOADS of time! Best thing EVER to do is to pre-do things before you need them done so theyre there waiting when ya need em!😊💚💜 Love your shopping goodies! Lol. Youre SO RELATABLE! Keep these vids comin maam!💚💜

We shop once a month with a walmart pickup (because its 80 miles one way to the nearest one) and supplement with fruits and vegetables once between the monthly hauls, so like every 2 weeks or so we are either getting produce/milk or big load of groceries. We have a smaller (expensive) grocery store 25 miles away that we buy the random produce/milk at in between the monthly trips.

having a garden will help supply all the veggies, my town also has a "local farm" that does a veggie box subscription. its $280 for 15 weeks of veggies. we pickup every monday evening starting i think June 14th. last year it was so many bell peppers in each box that we really struggled with using. so ive made a whole pinterest board this year for different kinds of stuffed bell peppers. and i planted my first garden as an adult!!! its kind of sad right now because i planted monday night and then we had frost advisory all week. but hopefully it pulls thru!!

Stock up on good frozen veggies. Peas, carrots, corn. Broccoli and green beans freeze really well. So does butternut squash. We eat fresh first and then the frozen stock to get through them. We also get long lasting veggies like squash, radishes, cabbage, onions. And we grabbed an imperfect food subscription to help get through that last week of the month. But yes when you switch to a lifestyle of protein and veggies it’s amazing how quick they go.

I'm always so envious of how cheap the discounted capsicums (bell peppers) are.

Best priced Naan at Costco! 18 pack of Stonefire brand for a little over $5. Mini size-about hand sized (5-6 in). Perfect for individual sized pizzas! YUM! They are kept in the open refrigerator area near the specialty cheeses and meets. I'm in Southern California.

Gas in Riverside County Ca $3.49 Costco or $3.99 Arco. I have to buy veggies every 10 days to eat whole food plant based. Some get frozen, cabbage lasts a while. Spend approx $30-40 every 10 days. Get most from 99c only store.

I've bought many things on the clearance rack at my Kroger and didn't notice that it was moldy until I got home and opened it.

I agree with you in the Focus Aid. Got it free through Ibotta and only drank half. .
