I have the Apollo version of the mototec. Two of them. They're awesome for trail riding. I walk it up really steep hills to save the battery. It will pull me around for 50 minutes on a trail or pavement and I'm 180 lbs. They're both stock but I would lilobe to see how they would be with the mototec 72v upgrade. I can put both of them in my dodge journey and take them all over with no trailer. Your video was exactly, exactly what I wanted to see. A vs and a mod. Great work.

So did the kit you get had a motor as well or was it just the controller you did? How many miles do you get on full charge or run time?

Their original kit didn’t come with a motor but they have since updated that and they send you a whole new motor with the kit. I have never clocked mileage but with kids riding it’s about an hour and a half to two hours depending on how hard the are riding.

i am inbetween getting this and eventually upgrading to the electro and co kit or getting a 72v battery for my razor rsf650 with the electro and co 5000w kit which i have a 48v right now

If you already have the razor I’d say upgrade that one to 72 volt. You will be cheaper

How long of a ride is your son getting out of the mototec?? Looks great with the mod

It all depends on how hard you are riding it. Our 8 and 9 yr old kids rode it on and off for about 1.5 hrs and had a little juice left. Track riding will burn the battery faster. If you are interested in getting one.. We can sell you a brand new on and ship it to your house. Then you can add the mod to it .

Thanks for this video!! I’m stuck between the mx650 razor and the mototec for my son. So you guys bought the kit from electro without the battery right? You guys just used the stock battery I’m guessing?

@@michaelladuke7348 MX650 will break. Ours did on the first ride. Known defect where the sprocket breaks from the rear wheel. Only a 90 day warrantee with Razor. Ruined Christmas. Sad, it has been defected for a decade and they have done nothing to fix the issue.

It is the stock 48 volt battery that we are running. It doesn’t use that much more battery with the mod, only if you are full throttle the whole time. My kids are not full throttle hardly ever because it is pretty quick and we ride a track and single track trails. It will get you 1.5to 2 hours depending on how hard the kids ride. And if it’s an adult it’s probably an hour of riding

There is a 36 volt mototec that is perfect for 7 year old but I think the 8 year old depending on if they are big or small for their age would be good on this 48volt 1600 w

I tried to put the link in here but I’m not sure it’s working. So, if you go to their website and click on the three lines at the top left it drops down a selection then you need to go to the arrow that is next to shop and it drops down another selection and you select KITS then selected PIT BIKES then scroll down and their is a picture of a mototec. Select that picture and it will pull up the right kit

How do you change the throttle on the Mototec?

The electro and co kit comes with a whole new throttle and stuff in their kit but you can just cut the wires and wire your own throttle in. I have used a three wire throttle and it works fine.

We do.. but just locally. Are you around southern Utah? You can also buy directly from motoTecUSA and they ship to you. If you want to then add a mod to it it’s fairly easy

@@geemaileehmail my last order at 450 did come with a new motor. Electro and co told me that the mototec bike changed something which forced them to have to sell a motor that was compatible with their kit. And that is the reason for the increase.

To my knowledge there isn’t a wire like the surron that you can just cut to get more speed. We did a complete controller/throttle swap. Electro & co sells a kit for it.

For my 9 year old she could ride for an 1:45 minute to 2 hours. I didn’t test range. Sorry. The mod hasn’t seemed to change riding time much at all

@@blakeyoung168 I’ll have to do some testing on actual mileage. I’ve only ever timed it because we do track riding with it not trail. Are you wanting to know mileage with a kid on it or with an adult?
