Rolling Coal: "You only have 150hp? That's pathetic!" Case 150: "Pull off for pinks then?" Result: Case 150 returns home with a propane-water injected turbodiesel and sled in tow with the grouser bars leaving trenches in the asphalt the whole way. Case 150 driver reaction upon parking the tractor: "Whoops! I thought I unhooked that before I left the track. Guess that's why it seemed to be going through more steam than usual."
@EETechs3 жыл бұрын
Rolling Coal: "So you make 150 HP at 180 RPM? Okay, then I have what is called gearing and I have 1000 HP!" Case: Wait!! "Don't use gearing cause I will lose." Rolling coal: "To bad, I have now geared down so that my built Cummins diesel engine speed is now 180 RPM and I have 1000 horsepower and thanks to gearing I now have 29,177 ft*lbs of torque ." Case: " I give up!! Please man."

This Case 150hp is just simply AWESOME, nice old and tractors plus other traction engines in the video. Is there ANYTHING this MAMMOTH BEAST would not pull????????????????????????? The torque of this traction engine would be ENORMOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@Bonde72803 жыл бұрын
Id say Big Bud 747. Anything less then that i doubt
@EETechs3 жыл бұрын
The weight of the tractor is the factor. Gearing makes torque at the engine meaningless. It's all about wheel torque, which gears give you. A 150 HP gas engine geared down and installed onto this machine would still have the same pulling ability.

Ain't that something. That old case just lumbering along like that load wasn't even there. We think we've made great advances since this old tractor was made but look. We haven't even equalled its effencincy in power yet.
@rampage33373 жыл бұрын
we have billion times more efficient stuff these days. this is a 141L engine you are comparing it to som 10-25L engines that yes have less torque but they are way more efficient and modern gearboxes actualy increase torque to the wheels. the new ford bronco has 29 000ft/lb of torque in it's crawl gear (well it has the ability to generate 29k torque but it does not have the grip for all the 29k) a volvo fh16 750hp truck has pulled 750 metric tons in it's crawler gear wich is 1.6million lbs. this steam tractor weighs about 34metric tons and it can haul up to 50tons in weight meaning it's total weight with the load it's pulling is 84tons. the max weight a truck is allowed to weigh combined with it's load here in sweden and finnland is 74tons and the truck pulls that att 90km/h. yes modern engiens don't have as mutch torque but thats becaus they don't need that mutch and they are 10x smaller than a steam engines. if you whana se real power then look att bulldozers they got real power and they weigh allot + have tracks meaning they have the weight and grip to do the same stuff this steam engine does just faster more efficently and more safely

not realy. theres a reason we use diesel to power trains now and not steam. diesel is allot more efficient and this and this engine is a 141L engine. volvo FH16 750hp uses 16L diesel engine and not only is capable of hauling more than this tractor but allso att faster speeds

@artvandelay10993 жыл бұрын
@@legros731 That's awesome. Simply amazing. Makes sense. I read that those belts are super hard to come by. No longer made. So, if you broke one, you'd have to repair it or depending on how it broke make a new one which would be a huge pain if not impossible for just anyone to do. So, there's great incentive not to push too hard and risk breaking a belt.
