I finally went racing again thanks to Alpha Performance Engines!
Mark hooked me up with a 150+Hp Fatbob to have some fun on & I did just that.
When the bike arrived it had a 2'' Arlen Ness Air Filter & a FREEDOM Radical Radius 2-2 Exhaust system. I put it straight on the Dyno & reeled off an impressive 151hp & 155ft/lbs.
PLEASE SEE THE VIDEO LINK BELOW THAT SHOWS THIS BIKE ON THE DYNO & I TALK ABOUT & PROOVE JUST HOW MUCH ALTITUDE EFFECT PEAK HP & TQ NUMBERS ON DYNOS.
Link to video, Fatbob being dynoed & altitude talk.
fb.watch/k7n-Gc34O3/?mibextid...
I had a D&D Bobcat 2-1 on the shelf doing nothing so I fitted that up along with a Screamin' Eagle Heavy Breather Extreme. I was very rushed for time & only spent about half an hour giving the bike a quick 're-tune' with the new exhaust & air filter & managed to get the same numbers, there is definitely a few more HP to be found in there but for the day I went racing I was not worried about a couple numbers.
I want to thank Gasoline Alley Harley-Davidson for sponsoring the Willowbank 'Race Ya Mates Day' & all the staff at Willowbank Raceway for ensuring the day runs smoothly!
Huge shout out to Mark & Alpha Performance Engines for the bike to have fun on too!
If you want to ride this bike, feel free to drop in & see me at Darling Downs Harley-Davidson. You will not be disappointed.
Please leave any questions in the comments & I will get back to you asap.

Awesome video, I hope to have my breakout at the drag strip soon. It is making 148/15 with the CR5155 cm and 128 kit. I have clutch springs but im so worried about breaking the compensator, clutch basket or belt. Does this bike have those parts upgraded?
@MasterTechMiller

Thanks for watching. Yes this bike has the upgraded comp ramp & is running SE 1275nm clutch springs. Clutch is otherwise completely stock. Still running the OEM Drive belt too.

What would you say regarding a comparison between the CR540 and the CR515 from APE ? Is the required compression different between the two cam?
@MasterTechMiller
@MasterTechMiller Жыл бұрын
The 540 will produce over 160hp with the right combination of parts & comp ratio. It generally needs at least 12.0:1 to work properly. It does have quiet a bit of valve train noise though. The CR515 will produce over 150hp but has less lift which results in less stresses on the valve train which in turn has quiet operating noises. The CR515 responds best at 11.5:1 & up. The torque of the 515 comes in nice & early depending on exhaust choice.

Hey mate, im contemplating a 128 or 132 build. I have an fxdr 117 stage 4 heads, 64mm throttle body, extreme breather at the moment. I also have a cr485 cam ready to go in , would love to know your thoughts on a build and where to go from here?
@MasterTechMiller
@MasterTechMiller Жыл бұрын
If you already have the SE CNC ported heads & 64mm Throttlebody that's a great start. The CR485 Cam you have loves higher compression ratios. The 128ci kit from Alpha Performance Engines is 11.0:1 The SE 131ci kit is 10.7:1 Keeping in mind the 128 is obviously 3ci smaller but has a higher comp ratio. It will make more power with the 128ci kit than the 131. The 131kit will produce a little more torque due to the larger displacement

Turning the speed limiter off via the tuning software/device. There is an option to turn it off with Technoresearch. If you are using power vision there is a selection in 'limits & switches' within the software.

I have a Harley but would never spend a dime on trying to make it fast, it's a cool bike how it is. Just put exhaust and a tune on it. You can spend a fortune and it's still not fast. My zx6r is bone stock just lowered and runs 9.96 at 138. Save your money.
@truckerruss5764

Takes nothing to ride a bike fast that's made to go fast. For some it's more of a challenge and more enjoyable to build and ride something fast that wasn't really meant to go fast. I get way more enjoyment riding my SG hard than I ever did my 1000cc crouch rockets. But hey, we all ride for our own reasons.

I have couple question for the Master tech if possible bro,what your thoughts on 114 to 122 kit with a 30/30 cam the comp ratio on them is 11:1 would run 5.5 injectors and 64 mm manifold throttle body ? And the second what set up would S&S roller rockers be suited too, as there different ratio to standard ,was told on a 30/30 cam no good give to much Lift?
@MasterTechMiller
@MasterTechMiller Жыл бұрын
I finished our shop demo a few weeks back running the 114 to 122 kit with a D&D Lowcat & the CR485 Camshaft. It made 139hp & mid 140s in torque. I've used the 30/30 cam both in 107 & 114 applications & I was left underwhelmed when compared to what the CR485 does in a 114ci. The 485 out performs the 30/30 in my experience & opinion. There is no need for the roller rockers when using the smaller lift cams so I wouldn't bother. The only time they should be considered is when maximum lift is being chased & the you need to reduce side loading of the valve stem
@allan9584able
@allan9584able Жыл бұрын
@@MasterTechMiller ok mate Thankyou for your experienced advice Appreciated, But the CR485 inlet valve closes at 36 where the 30/30 is 25 so you would lose low end torque with the CR485 cam but have room to grow compression. Correct on a 114
@allan9584able
@allan9584able Жыл бұрын
@@MasterTechMiller roller rockers would be a benefit if you could get same ratio as standard as its simple they better lubrication and less friction less heat more Horsepower .
@MasterTechMiller
@MasterTechMiller Жыл бұрын
@4 happy family members intake closing time is not something I would base my low end torque expectations from. The lobe separation angle is a better indication of how the torque curve will look. Duration is also another factor. I agree with you about if stock ratio roller rockers were available however the gains out lined by you would be minimal in the M8 platform and while they may be picked up and measured on a dyno I highly doubt you would feel the difference
