Thank you so much for reviewing this game. My little brothers and I used to play this game all the time when we were young. I managed to find it not too long ago at a flea market and was quite proud when he mopped the floor with me. Fantastic game.

Speaking of games based on Franco-Belgian comic books set in the early days of America, there's another comic series called Lucky Luke which was set during the Old West/Frontier days. It had some games of its own. There's a 16-bit game for that which was only released in Europe. Have you heard of that series and its games?

Strategy games aren't my genre, but I played this game a lot when I was a kid; maybe I still have it somewhere (or maybe I sold it). Surprised to know it wasn't actually developed in the USA. Very interesting as always

Too me it feels that the South was like America and the Union was like old Britain. The Confederates wanted independence, the North wanted to conquer the South since they seceded.
@roguerifter9724
@roguerifter9724 6 жыл бұрын
Basically correct. I always hate when people claim the north was fighting for liberty. Yes the Union victory led to the end of slavery in the US, which I consider a very good thing, but IMO the Union lost any claim to fighting for freedom when its government started using the war as an excuse to violate the constitutional rights of civilians in Union territory. It was so bad that there was a newspaper editor who spent more then a year in jail, with his newspaper shut down by Union troops, because Lincoln decided not to abide by a court order he didn't like and the newspaper published an editorial condemning him for doing so. Not to mention that it was eventually declared a crime in many Union states to speak out against the war despite freedom of speech being guaranteed by the constitution with civilians who were arrested for doing so being tried by military tribunals rather then civilian juries, which again violated the constitution. I loved this game when I was a kid. Played it with dad all the time and I have the remake on Steam which I play a few times a year.

I knew the PC version of this game. If you liked this, you would like Centurion too - basically the same game but in ancient imperial era Rome, where you control and equip legions and defend the lands against any threat from barbarians to Parthians and Hannibal himself, with cavalry, heavy and light infantry, and even war elephants. All peppered with minigames like chariot racing or gladiator games where you control the player you bet on. :)

I loved Les tuniques bleus back in my teen days but i wasn't interested in politics back then so I'm sure I wouldn't have like this game. What made the "BD" so fun was the different storyline in the an ambiance of war and the relation between the two heroes, the cowardly corporal and the courageous sergeant. Fun times.

I'm actually the kind of person who would enjoy a game of Jeopardy with three Watsons (especially with all of them insisting that Toronto is an American city). Just so you know there are people like that out there. Any game that allows cpu vs cpu, I turn that on and just watch, y'know?

Let's not be douches and call that gaming culture. That's like saying robbing a store is black culture. Sure black people have been caught doing it but it doesn't define something so large as an industry.
