That applies to me. I always compare every new singer that I hear with Mariah's standard of music. There you will see they have no support, no resonance, no breathing capacity to sustain. These bleak singers ugh.

@@clarkevander so true. Everytime a singer tries to hit a high note, i cringe cause they use a lot more force to hit the note and its more dramatic and mariah does it so easily which sounds like heavan to my ears

I would put this one second, after BET Blueprint. I LOVE how she growls in that one, it's so powerful. The belts in this performance are better though, if only slightly. And the "Yeah"s at the end are beyond.

If you take all the registers into account you’re not comparing Daydream where she only had high belts and no volume below F3, breathlessness, and no whistles to Charmbracelet where she could use every tool she had and at maximum capacity.

Woah woah woah how have I not seen this performance! I need high quality audio of this NOW!!! This totally beats the BET Blueprint performance as best of this decade. It's 100% live and she sounds so... 1992. She even hits the Daydream Tour belt for the end (and it was AAAALL - where she goes up into an E5/F5).

2:52-3:06 Ok, So, she hit a F6 then she ran up to A6, then she ran down in whistle register, then she went full on belt and ran up to F5. She did ALL of this perfectly🤯🤩🤪, charmbracelet era is like daydream part 2. 1 thing about Mariah is that she is not playin’ games 💪🏻👸.

I don’t think there’s been a performance from 1997-2000 that’s better. And debut is barely neck and neck with this performance. Debut Era still had nerves and never really improvised. Here, 13 years in the industry at the time, her voice at one it’s healthiest states, and having endured so much, you can truly see the PERSONALITY in her voice. In truth the only era that that matches what she does here is Music Box and Daydream

@@Sttephy30 listen to the day dream performances. Her high belts are there, but aside for the agility she’s breathless most of the time and her volume below F3 is non existent. Not to mention she barely could whistle during Daydream and never did on vision of love. Daydreams Highest Belt was F#5, just a half step higher than Charm, but she definitely used all the tools in her kit during charmbracelet
