I love how your not the usual KZfaq builder that provides entertainment instead of what you show as simple instruction and let the workflow as it naturally would. No smart comments and it's also refreshing that you realize your audience may know a thing or two about building. I wouldn't imagine novices watching videos of this sort but DIY'ers and tradesmen looking for any new methods of construction and may be useful new tools and techniques. Thank you.

Every time I watch your videos Ken, I can't help but think of how much fun it would be to be apart of your crew and build workshops and various buildings such as this one! The thought comes to mind quite often to leave my career as a licensed Master Electrician and learn how to do framing. Monetarily it would be hard to 'start over' in another trade, but I think that the enjoyment and education I would gain would be the compensation. Thanks for bringing us along!

I like the fact you built your own trusses, makes sense on a 16' building. You guys are all very well organized and an efficient building machine. If I were to be critical, I would of installed four cripples on each end trusses to better carry the osb. Enjoy your vids a breath of fresh air on the youtube. Wishing you and your crew a happy New Year.

Hi Ken been watching you for a long time now. I’m 64 and framed my whole life recently retired. We framed like you years ago but wind codes evolved since early 2000’s. All plywood wall seems need blocking larger than 4’ openings need 2 jacks and 2 king studs, garage headers need to span entire length of building with portal framing techniques if there isn’t sufficient shear on each side of opening. BTW this is in northern VA. I’m in NC now building my shop and I thought it was bad in VA what an experience this has been. I sure miss those simpler days of framing. You bring me fond memories of the good old days.

Your attention to detail is very good 👌 for example, the vinyl siding on the long wall. You made sure the vinyl siding is overlapping towards the back so when looking at it the sidewall from the front, looks like one whole piece of vinyl siding because you can't see the overlap from the front! A lot of builders don't care about that but you do. Great job 👍

Your really calm, cool and collective it is sweet to learn from,,,I defiantly have worked with my fair share of hot heads haha, mostly been doing floorcovering for 12 years now getting into more involved building to diversify, cause I'm getting bored on just floors. showing the cost is honest as it gets I like your way of doing things.

That is an awesome job, Ken :) Well done! I'd like to build something like this. Just trying to help a single mom who lost her house in a fire almost 2 months ago. A small room of the size of your workshop might be useful for her in the meantime, while she gets back on her feet. She's been sleeping in a tent on her property. Go figure. Perhaps I can also start a gofundme to make this possible. Thanks for the video and keep up the good work sir. Cheers -George

Hey Ken, Thx for the recap. BTW, as far as your new weight loss program, it should include a provision for stimulating the elimination process. Many folk do not "go" as often as they should. But the rule of thumb for a healthy digestive tract is "One in-one out!" We use herbal teas which can help with this. Many are available at your local stores, and online. Of course lots of veg and fruits are recommended. We curmudgeons often must eat more produce to make up for what we didn't get while younger!

I notice you leave the gap in the osb at the top of the walls. I imagine that's because hot air rises and creats better wall cavity ventilation. When I framed houses many years ago, we would have the gap in the middle of the wall between the sheets, which seems stronger to me as it's tied into the top plate.
