These two are located in Cambodia. The Survival Build woman is in Singapore. They says their structures are exactly like what they usually build in the jungle. I can’t imagine they are much protection from typhoons which are an issue in Southeast Asia but who knows maybe these types of easy (comparatively of course lol) to repair/build structures are preferable to large permanent structures which might be more expensive to rebuild after every harsh storm that comes in but I’m just guessing. Looking at this and comparing to the hurricanes I saw in Florida doesn’t exactly instill confidence in me here lol. I’d think that barring any massive storm they are probably still intact 12 months later.

I also notice they don't slope the roofs. they all look flat. that's a disaster waiting to happen. With a few tweaks and modern materials though, this would make a magnificent house to live in.

Their camera person and a tripod. They don't. These are art pieces at best and serve no functional purpose. All form no function. They fall to ruin from the elements. Almost immediately after. I’m curious as to why they didn’t mud the exterior before putting the grass on. Was the cut of cud thick enough, maybe? Very well done, none the less. They did amazing. I want to do similar but using more earth and stone features. Great work guys.

I'm guessing that if the ground is that dry you can dig it with a stick and a front wall made from lattice that weather proofing and thermal efficiency are of little importance in that climate I have a suspicion these are eco lodges for seasonal tourists not permanent abode! None the less amazing work and how the guys work so well with so little tools and communication is a marvel!

These videos are not made to make actual functioning residences. These guys leave a massive mess of abandoned clay bricks and mud peppered throughout wooded areas. Just off camera there are dozens of mud-filled, stagnant water pools from what these guys have built before. You can look up aerial views of the destruction that they leave behind in their local environments.
@ndsoo98652 жыл бұрын
@@biggusy25 okay but have you ever seen a quarry? I dont think these people building with only natural materials are causing much harm to the enviroment. Also i think it's a great learning expirience and preservation of knowledge useful in real life application.

Where do you find dried wood in the jungle? Bark removed and perfectly cut to exactly same pieces?
@waltblackadar46902 жыл бұрын
That's the right question but think about it a bit more. Where would they get 400 sq ft of grass? It would take days to extract that much grass by hand in perfect segments and that's backbreaking work. How about all the materials and not just the wood? The perfect pieces of bamboo, the mud the perfect consistency, etc. Here's the trick. This isn't done by 2 guys. This is done by a team of 20-40 people and they only show the 2 working on it to get views. While I enjoy the channel, anyone who thinks that this is legitimately done by 2 guys with no tools should get their head examined. Watch their other videos and start doing the math and it's really obvious - like pools of water being filled by buckets that would take 3 weeks of nonstop effort, 24 hours per day, to fill - and yet they claim to do it in just a day or two. Even if they did work 3 weeks to fill a pool the water would be stagnant and quickly get nasty but it's always pure water in this videos. They're entertaining videos and fun to watch but they're incredibly misleading to the point of being outright falsehoods.

Without wishing to sound sceptical (but that's what the Internet has made us over the years), a number of panning shots clearly show pre-drilled holes etc. I can't help but think that the majority of the build which takes place off camera is done using vastly different tools and methods.

Very impressive bush craft skills. Not sure where much of that cut bamboo came from but I'm guessing nearby. I have to wonder if that sod roof will keep the rain out though? I was expecting them to use some leaves or something to layer up like shingles before they put the sod in place... I hope those two are benefiting from this channel - the income that it produces.

This videos are fake montages for views, it says 16 days but its most likely built in one day by a team with modern tools off camera then they record little bits pretending these two do everything (obvious because the perfect clean wood cuts that are done out of camera), fast production discarded for the next video. and its fine, its just another way of entertainment.

They have no idea about weatherproofing, they have yet to show a building with a practical roof. This roof is worse than useless. At least with some of their buildings you would only have water pouring onto your head. With this you will be covered in mud and rotten vegetation.
