Teensy 4.0 running 4096 PL9823 leds (ws2811/ws2812 like led’s). Display and animation frames running at 178 fps. How insane can it be :P

I have made a lot of pictures and video’s but it’s all disorganized. I’m not sure how to organize and share my build process for this monstrosity. Maybe my wife can help, she has some experience in video editing. Is there anything in particular you want to see? Sending an e-mail is no problem ;)

Really nice animations! Do you have sourcecode in a repo or so? My firework animation looks less neat in the colours. I wanna know why

Source is on github. All particles have their own color, velocity, direction, fade out speed and random sparkles. This makes nice explosion in the sky :P

Any chance we could get a demo video with fog inside the cube? Would also be curious to just see it in the dark.

First up, is the circuit..:) Did you use a TLC5940?

Not in this big boy. But i used 18 of them in my 9x9x9. I did a test a few years ago and multiplexing upto 18 levels was doable without flikkering. The light intensity is just very low. If i go full white on this one it’s like directly looking at the sun 😂😎

@@Griffindor21 code and pcb is on github. Maybe not the fusion 360 files for the box. But are you crazy??? Go make a nice 4x4x4 instead 🤣😂 if you are lmk and i’l put the stl’s on Thingiverse.

Here is the thread my code is based on forum.pjrc.com/threads/59023-queued-TriantaduoWS2811-a-32-channel-WS*-library-for-Teensy-4-0-using-FlexIO-amp-DMA Thanks to Paul Stoffregen who had the best idea to “abuse” DMA to generate ws2811 signals and Ward Ramsdell who used flexio with DMA.

Flower? You mean the math function for the wave? y = sin(phase + sqrt(x^2 + z^2)) I’m making a build video, but that will be the physical build, not the code.
