I see in the complaint section commonly called the comment section, some people think you were cutting down live trees. Obviously the worst kind of wood for a fire is a live tree. Perhaps I missed it but did you cut down any live trees? People don’t know what they don’t know. I didn’t see any green wood there at all.

A tree was cut down that was dead but still standing.
@yt650
@yt650 2 жыл бұрын
@EM Uhill Absolutely you are correct. Because a tree is standing some people think it’s still alive. That tree was dead as a door nail, if memory serves me it barely had any bark on it. How many people know what the saying means that I used “dead as a door nail” ?

Hahaha I'm from the swamp. Where did you get that dry wood? The only way to start a fire down here with would you find, it has to be lighter knot. There's nothing dry in the south Florida swamp.
@mcf777
@mcf777 2 жыл бұрын
I'm a Louisiana boy - not every swamp is lacking in dry wood. In fact, I would venture to say that swamps in Florida are (pretty much) the ONLY place you would have that problem.
@Bozemanjustin
@Bozemanjustin 2 жыл бұрын
@@mcf777 well maybe that's so.. but that's my experience. I've never been to other swamps haha. But down here, it was common to just pull lighter knot out of a pond. Stuff would burn anyways.

14:40 is very dangerous. He's cutting through tree roots, which means the fire to go in that hole could ignite the roots and start a forest fire. Should have used a rock base, or at the very least green-wood base.

No, actual it promotes forest growth. All wood used for campfires are dead wood. Usually these woods are found on the ground, but they can still be standing. This is a safety hazard, and the dead standing trees block sunlight from other trees -- so, it's good to remove them.
