Thank you for being so unapologetically you. Because of the advice and wisdom that you offer I have been able to cut my families grocery budget by more than half, and we have began a strict budget that we follow 95% of the time. And also has began taking portions of each paycheck and putting it into our savings account to have a nice cushion to fall on. Thank you so much

You two are so inspiring. I can really tell that you guys love each other a lot. I'm sure your devotion to eachother and to your kids helped y'all pull through the tough times. Not everyone is as lucky to have such a partner in life or strong enough to put in the work to build and maintain such a relationship. Wishing you good fortune and more happy times ahead

Always enjoy hearing about all your adventures! I started working at 11/12 babysitting, then 13 ish I was washing dishes at my sister in-laws family restaurant, became a CNA at 15, switched and became a CDA (dentistry) at 16. Joined the army at 17 and served as a combat medic for 8 years. Went to college while i worked for 4 different dentists. Stayed in dentistry for 31 years. Owned many small businesses both brick and mortar and online selling when eBay was good. Became disabled 4.5 years ago but while doing home decluttering, mask making, etc during the RONA shut down and selling everything not tied down online and marketplace, I still do my best trying to sell misc.. for extra cash cuz we all know how difficult it is to live on SS. Oh... and I SO miss being able to extreme coupon!! I lived off all the free stuff back then from mega planning with the double coupons.

Love your realistic views on balancing family time and money goals and that you don't glamorize all the work and time that went into getting to where you are now. My brother has a side hustle helping senior citizens with technology needs. He doesn't charge much and they are so thankful to have someone they trust available to come to their home about what we consider small things that can be confusing for the older generation like email questions, setting up a new streaming service or setting up a show to record on DVR, installing a Ring doorbell, setting up a new tablet that was gifted to them, questions about printers, etc.

You two are so funny. Oh who hasn't done a side hustle. I worked on a political campaign for $3.50 hour. The guy got elected and was so bad I worked on his opponents campaign 4 years later for free. Worked at a car wash until my mother found out. 14 years old busted. But I loved to wash cars which paid off later. Was laid off in 1970 wiping my car off man asked if I washed cars. My three year old said we don't have any money for hamburgers. I confessed I was out of work. Next day man had 4 friends lined up and paid me $10 a car. Kept us in groceries. Love hearing all your hustle experiences. Glad we all made it. Watching from Texas, Donna

I love your stories of a hustle! When my husband lost his job and took a lower paying job (in a food freezer) to slow down the "bleeding" I was able to pick up so many jobs as a teacher. I ran a lab in the morning before school, I sponsored a club after school, I did course recovery and taught a 6th period in place of planning. That bumped me up by $8000 that year and saved us. We had 2 girls in college and we just DID IT! I love your story of success and what it REALLY takes to be successful. HARD WORK

Love this! You and your hubby have the best chemistry! When my son was little I worked 3 job. Cleaned rooms at a nearby resort, part time at an office, and I cleaned a couple of houses. The last 4 years I worked a part time job at my local library to help supplement my full time job with the State of MO. Now down to 1 job, but always prepared for a side hustle if needed!💗💗

I love your honesty with how little some hustles made. I remember as a kid in the 80s my parents would deliver telephone books, well, they drove and my sister and I ran them up to the houses. I don't recall what they got paid for it, but I remember they paid us a quarter per book we delivered (that wasn't much to me, but my sister who was around 8 when they stopped thought it was the greatest, I knew our situation and didn't mind helping them with the few weeks because while it was tedious work, it only took a few Saturdays and it helped our family a lot.

When I was growing up, we cleaned office buildings as a family for decades. It gave us the money for fun stuff, vacations, sports, going out to eat/movies. It's A LOT of work, just fyi...but pays well and it's usually nights/weekends. I am a pet sitter as a side job, easiest job ever and so enjoyable for an animal lover.

I love learning and conquering new things. No judgement to those that choose to stay somewhere 20-30 years and do only that job but it’s just not for me. Keep up the great videos and side hustles y’all!

OMG how funny, I was couponing and selling my extras too. It was a pretty good hustle. When we started staying home and shelves became bare, I stopped. I've been wanting to start a KZfaq channel, but I'm scared. I know I shouldn't be, but it's intimidating. I am trying to muster up the courage. It would be related to cooking and how I do things in Texas. My biggest fear is looking stupid and failing.. anyway thanks for all your tips and just maybe y'all will see my channel in the near future.

Omg, I had to laugh so hard when you mentioned your side hustle to pay for blinds. I also had a side hustle to pay for blinds in my new home. I delivered pizza. I was always paid in cash (small bills). So when the guy would come out to hang each blind, I would hand him a large roll of $5’s and $1’s. I think he thought I was a stripper or something.

This was quite entertaining. 😁 Made me remember all the odd jobs I've had in the past. I was 12 when I started my first job as the nursery worker during church counseling in the evenings (1998). It paid $14 for 2 hours and 5-6 kids on my own! Thinking back they didn't pay me enough but must have really trusted my abilities!! 😆

Another side hustle people can look into is being a substitute worker at a school…they dont just need sub teachers but also cooks, janitors, aides, bus drivers, secretaries…some of these need licenses for but some dont…i know our school district is SCREAMING for all subs right now…worth looking into

This reminds me so much of how we grew up. My dad was a teacher and with five kids it wasn't gonna cut it. So mom and he had so many side hustles, that worked their way into being family hustles! From sewing piece work, to cleaning commercial complexes at night, to babysitting, to stitching needle point samples for needle point companies, cut hair, taught piano lessons, substitute teach, etc. Looking back it was sort of fun, always something interesting going on, but at the time it was tedious, and I have no idea when my parents even slept. The easiest side hustle I did while in college was only a twice yearly gig but it was being a proctor for sat and act testing. Super easy and you got a couple hundred dollars to just sit and time tests.

In Norway we don’t get paid for donating blood or plasma, we volunteer for it. My husband works full time for a shipping company and I work part time as a translator. I have been through many jobs til I finally found translating, and I love it! Great video!

You don’t get paid for donating blood in the US, but sometimes where I live (Alaska) they’ll give you a reward like a T-shirt, mug, or gift card. Unfortunately, the U.S. is in MAJOR need for blood donations right now. So if anyone sees this comment - please figure out if you are eligible to donate!!! 1 in 7 hospital patients need blood, and 1 donation can save 3 lives. My brother is a medical lab technician at our local hospital and wasn’t able to give blood to someone who needed it today because there simply wasn’t any of his blood type available.

I've done wedding cakes, taught sewing classes to kids in my home, babysat, VIPkid teaching English to kids in China, secret shopping, and a little sewing here and there. The babysitting only made like $5 a day, but at the time I also found a great program to go back to college through my church, which ended up costing about $5 a day! So that little before and after school babysitting job literally put me through college! Don't knock the side hustle folks. If you are willing to work, and be creative, you will find ways!

I love your videos. I enjoy but don't need the big meal prep info at this stage of life. I was able to retire 5+ years ago at 60 (with a little employer push of an early retirement buyout). However, I wasn't ready to be 'done'. Husband and I both retired in the same year. We had the resources but hubby is a homebody. So I got a side hustle with my financial advisor's company as a vacation/sick day cover person. I have the people contact I crave, the limited hours I desire (I can accept or reject any requests), I have variety (I have opened my schedule to offices within about 30 miles (8 offices). Best side hustle ever....for me. Thanks for the info you share.

Not all side hustles make cash but when the trade helps both sides then perfect! Single moms have needed something fixed and my husband fixed it and she would cook supper for everyone. My kids would play with her kids so they were occupied and for one mother her kids would eat better when my kids visited so it was win win win win lol!

I used to change horses blankets when I was at the barn. It was a dollar a blanket l, Took a bit of time but I’d do 30 of them in an hour in those weird seasons where horses need blanket changes before being turned in. Yeah, I did that 5x a week. Not a bad side hustle considering I was already there anyways

Couponing in its heyday was a gold mine. It's how I put in a lot of food storage and fed my family when my hubby was unemployed or underemployed which happened often when we had four kids at home. Between my husband and I we have done a few side jobs. That’s how we got through the 4 times I was laid off in two years. We cleaned eviction rentals and I can say a few should have been bulldozed, so disgusting. My husband did the bathrooms and refrigerators because I couldn’t handle it. We mowed lawns, painted houses and babysat. I knew a lot of people who couldn’t believe we would do extra work because it was a lot of work and below them. But now we are older and life has treated us well. Hard work eventually pays off.

Now he’s back to it costs us too much even though I make money on it all. Christine! Your babysitting stories had me laughing because no matter what age, what degrees I've earned, where I was living, etc. I have ALWAYS, ALWAYS gone back to babysitting 😂I started babysitting when I was 14.. went to college for teaching. Went BACK to college for a science degree.. babysitting in between. Well, I'm 30 years old now and quit my 9-5 job a year ago. All last summer I was babysitting a great kid and having an awesome time -- all for $30/hr! Babysitting is where it's at! With two bachelor's degrees, I tell everyone I'm a professional babysitter and honestly could not be happier.

I've actually been thinking about donating plasma. Also would enjoy starting a KZfaq channel if I had time LOL 😅

Seeing the pictures when you were talking about extreme couponing makes me miss Propel so much!! I'm not a fan of artificial sweeteners so can't do the zero version but I used to LOVE Propel!!

My side hustles included making candles with custom images/photos on them about 5 years ago, and now I'm freelancing as a resume writer!

I wish coaches got paid in my town. My spouse loves coaching but every year we have to debate on whether we can afford for him to do it again or not (due to lack of pay & having to buy new/replace equipment [the leagues only supplies the bare minimum. Kids buy their own shirts & coaches supply balls, bags, etc]).

First, I'm loving Dave's facial hair. LOVE. I am just starting off my debt paying journey. I've tried the online surveys and I agree 100%. A total waste of time. I've just started donating plasma. They have a new donor special going on and I've made $180 this week! I'm using it for groceries, too. And I've recently started a KZfaq channel. I'm up to 25 subscribers. 🤣 😭
